In the days of the Elijah's and even the New Testament era of the Apostles who were NOT educated, God moved, miracles happened, John saw heavenly visions. But now, bible schools are here yet the dead are not raised, the blind is not seeing, miracles are scarce, FAKE Tongues everywhere. Jeremiah 6:16 King James Version 16 Thus saith the Lord, stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, we will not walk therein. The old path is always the right way. Gone were the days when before a pastor stands on the pulpit to preach, he hears from God the kind of message to preach and so was accompanied with power, healing all all heavenly blessings. But today, because we use our our minds, there is no power. Let us all go back to God and seek his face and ask him for messages that is filled with power.

Look, even the prophets in Elijah days went to school. School( training) is very important in teaching God’s word. Christ took his disciples through three years of training. The current crop of prophets in Africa are becoming con men and they think that revelations and prophecies are the finality of God’s revelation, but they come to confirm the written Word of God. The word of God is the Litmus text for all prophecies. Africa prophetism and Africa Traditional Religion is equal and the same today by the way prophets today are applying their trade. Very soon they will be out of business. God is cleaning His church.

Catholic priests n bishops are well trained but they still have excesses n in a lot of scandals for soooooooo many generations n a well organized cults like Jehovah witness n later day saints they look well organized but still living in false teachings n are completely lost into hell n hv a lot of diabolical attitudes

But my only question is Pastor Mensah Otabil what about the catholic church who are soooooooo educated bur still live n teaches lies like the theology of Mary n pagatory n their incense burning n also all the orthodox churches in the world including the Greek, Jerusalem, Egypt, Russia, Serbian orthodox all hv practices that are outmoded n unchristian but they all attend n are trained in seminars n they don't even believe in primary Christian values

Charismatic gimmicks have turned giving from an act of worship to an act of transaction; a showmanship. Giving more than everyone doesn’t mean that you love God more than everyone. Love for God is best demonstrated by obedience, not by giving, for "obedience is better than sacrifice" (1Sam 15:22). God has said that "I have no pleasure in burnt offering and sacrifices" (Heb 10:6), but If you love me, obey my commands." (Jn 14:15)

Thanks Ps. Gideon However, I hope Ps. Otabil listens to himself and puts an end to Greater works which in itself is a problem given the kind of speakers he invites and what some particularly believe. Otherwise, this is good teaching that we need in this day and age.

We get what he is saying but going to Bible school doesn’t even make you an expert of the things written in God’s word Theologians disagree with most things and have given assumptions for most things written in the word Training is necessary but do not neglect the Holy Spirit We claim we are educated now but can’t make much impact like those in the past The Holy Spirit is our helper and training must be done but it isn’t reliable 💯% Why can’t training be done in the church than going to a school? Some have to leave their jobs just to go to a school for 4 years Total reliance on the Holy Spirit is key

Ghanaians, may we Nigerians exchange. Mensa Otabil for two Nigerian pastors, Oyedepo and Adeboye.

Otabil said and I quote… “If Christianity as a whole experience THIS revival, consequentially our nation will experience revival, because the quality in the pulpit will force us to have quality in politics.” Now I say this and I want you to note it: This is the God ordained goal of Christianity, and there’s not one Christian or pastor who hasn’t understand this that truly understand Christianity. And until it’s understood and all hands are on desk fighting towards achieve it, we will keep going through this circle.

He's also been part of the same problem.

But Jesus Christ overlooked all the scholars and intelligent people in the synagogues and chose fisher men and simple men. God makes preachers not school. All we have to do is stay with the word.

The church can't collapse. Many false pastors are out there,but God's word stands sure.

Well said by Otabil. Not every one who has the burden to preach can afford to go to seminary but there are many resources out there than one can use to train themselves quite well enough to exegete properly and then go to school when the path opens. Still, well said.

I agree with Pastor Otabil completely, except to add that we must always beware of extremes: training for the Word without the power or going for the Power without the Word. This has been the problem of the church for many generations. Good message. 👍👍👍🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾

Unfortunately the Pentecostal/protestant rebelled out of Catholic and Orthodox churches only to do worst and perform terrible in these later days do to greed, materialize, ego, Moses law, power abuse , African culture and traditional acts than the reason they left, yoking projects, loving the rich and the poor cursed , sexualize dresses in service etc

NON of all this pastors is God, Jesus or the Holy Spirit so, lets learn to study God's word & keep doing it, for ourselves.. Knowing the scriptures & NOT acting or doing it, amounts to NOTTING.

This tithing thing is really a problem..... I have read my Bible well and have known that jesus whom we claim as our model never received tithe in his earth walk neither the apostles so these threatenings i don't understand...

Thank you Pastor Gideon. I’ve been telling people that our experiences and stories are not the word of God. We shouldn’t build doctrines on our experiences or people’s testimonies. If it cannot be supported by scripture, throw it away.

Most times, people always talk about the finished work of JESUS, does it mean, nothing is expected from us anymore? Are we saying, reigning with JESUS is automatic? If we say, it's automatic, then we still DON'T understand what grace is all about. Grace appeared, to enable us become, part of the kingdom of light. Col 1 : 12 - 13. After this, we are all expected, to walk worthy of His call, by doing the things required of the kingdom of God. Or why should we be judged again,( 2 Cor 5 : 10, Heb 9 : 27 - 28..Rom 14 : 12 etc.) if the finished work of JESUS, is a licence for misbehaviour?

Then on whose side are you the Lords or Korah,?????????

What does he mean by the dispensation of God, Christ, and the Holy Spirit? His hermeneutics is poor

Pastor boateng, am sure you know, if you have ever followed any pastor before, that what this pastor of redeem is saying amounts to rebellion or did not the bible say, we should not break ranks? For him, to still be in redeem & he is antagonising his overseer, is uncalled for, or what is he projecting or insinuating ? Lets all repent & foster UNITY, in the body of christ. This is the ONLY vission JESUS has & HIS only prayer point known. JOHN 17 : 11, 20 - 21..its HIS heartbeat, that we all become one. All this arguement over, tithe & not on HOLINESS, DOING GOOD, BEEN A PROPER follower of JESUS will NOT do the church any good.
