💯 The best way to be free from addiction is to know that it is a sin. And the Bible said we should be dead to sin! Count yourself as being dead to the addiction...

WHERE IS IT WRITTEN IN THE BIBLE THAT WATCHING PORN IS A SIN

  • @albertina6425

When struggling with addiction, some seek help and are told, 'Once an addict, always an addict.' I found that untrue. Until I found Christ, I didn't know freedom was possible. In Christ, we become new creatures, as the Bible says, 'nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.' These words from God hold power. So my advice is, to seek God's kingdom first, and all else will be added, including freedom from addiction. Pray, fast if you must, surround yourself with people who love the Lord. It might be one of the hardest things you will ever do in your life, but you can be free - because that is my own personal testimony. Be blessed, brothers and sisters.

The thing your natural strength may not be sufficient to leave that particular addiction, it takes the strength of God which increases through prayer and the word. You need to careful what you give you eyes, ears to, the more you fill your soul with things of God it will help you overcome the sin

The point with pastor damina is, don't struggle to stop. And i am asking if you don't struggle to stop, how will your mind adapt to the change that you desire to get bcos most of the people in addiction really wish they could stop but it's already built in their minds bcos they action has registered repeatedly in their subconscious mind.

  • @muwehmarcel2195

Your are right sir. But we can't completely discard damna's point bcos most of the addictions are strong grips in our minds that can only be replace or reverse by something else probably stronger like beholding steadily to the word of God.
I have been into several addictions and glory to God, i have been out of them all when I began listening to and paying attention to the word of God.
Thank you sir , you are really doing good.

One important thing you missed is.. Prayer! We cannot break the hold of sin without a lifestyle of prayer. It is through the Spirit that we mortify the deeds of the flesh - Rom 8:13. There are also territorial forces or principalities (described as the Prince of the power of air in Eph 2:2) that need to be rebuked on a consistent basis. Without the combination of the Word and Prayer, we cannot fully break free from addiction.

We are using Dr Damina to drive content and fan engagement. Well done. All you said regarding addiction due to a lifestyle is exactly what Dr Damina said. Let the word dwell richly in you. It is unfortunate that we disagree with Dr Damina and still go ahead to recommend what he said. What I suggest is that if we don't have any contrary opinion to a post, we should refrain from commenting or making a reaction video. A lot of intelligent visitors are out there and may we not drive them away with our seemingly reaction post. God bless you and keep up the good work of the Lord.

You didn't even start from the beginning of Dr. Abel's podcast. Dr. Abel Damina had earlier said that we should continue to study more on the word of God, pray, and continue to grow in the knowledge of our true identity. As this happens, the appetite for the addiction begins to wane off. You mischievously cut him off from the middle so that it would appear as if he encourages pornography. People are not as gullible as you think, you know?
I lived with the addiction for 6+ years, but after watching this particular podcast by Dr. Damina, I've been set free. I live in the full awareness of my true identity in Jesus Christ. It's been >4 months since I quit porn, and I just keep on growing in the knowledge of God's word.
All Damina is saying, is this you don't need to struggle anymore. Come to Jesus just as you are, and He will make you whole. For instance, the woman with the issue of blood came to Jesus still bleeding. She didn't need to stop the bleeding, but she came just as she was, and the Master healed her totally.

Pst. Gideon, it may not even be 50 : 50 in Sin vs The Word of God, its 75 : 25 in Sin vs The Word of God because:
    1. the person is already an addict for a long time
    2. the bible said in Matthew 13: some seeds fell on stony ground, some on weeds, some on the road. only 25% fell on good ground.

Hmmm, I see where Dr. Damina is coming from; counseling from the known to the unknown. But unfortunately when it comes to sin and particularly sexual sin, there can be no negotiations. The Bible insists to flee...
Now even if Damina's approach could work, some information is not meant for the public, where there are many immature saints. This is a challenge with some preachers today and need to be worked on. God will help us.

I disagree with Ur second point all bad appetite which becomes an addiction has spirit attached if there is no spirit involved then it is not addiction the person can stop at any time. Immediately it becomes an addiction then a spirit is involved in that case Ur first point will work for the person. If it is not an addiction then there is no need for deliverance the person can stop it. Any act which becomes a habit n cannot be stopped is an addiction, if It can be stopped then is not an addiction in the first place

Sir, I don't think Damina is encouraging it from what I heard. He gave his own solution, his own solution may not work for everybody, but that doesn't mean he is encouraging it. That's not fair enough. Try to put yourself in the same position.
For those who want to be free, you can check Galatians 5 vs 16. Continue to be obedient to all other things that is of God, mix it up with prayers and seek genuine Man of God. It's well.
