Hello , I've been watching your videos to gain some confidence with small engines, especially with carburetors , scared of them,. Minutes ago I was able to troubleshoot my CAT RP5500 Generator used it once probably 2-3 years ago I tried to remove most gas out of the tank, but not in the bowl. Yup I did it too, it smelled like you know , So I cleaned the bowl put it back together and no start, so I knew I had to clean that jet. yikes, so i did cheat a little I removed the bowl and without taking off the carburetor I was able to remove the jet, and yes it was closed and crusty. I cleaned it and put it back together I was lucky it started. And no I did not take the long piece that the jet screws into it was clean I did run my wire thru it. I need more practice so one day I will remove the carburetor. I'm still learning, I just wanted to say thank you. Hector Gill

I just split a new starter gear into about 10 pieces on one of these. Same symptoms but I misdiagnosed it. Now in addition to having to do your fix, I have to figure out how to get my old starter gear on the new starter lol!

I have a Husqvarna r322t all wheel drive mower with Briggs and Stratton 20 horsepower endurance motor. My Nikki carburetor has all the issues you are talking about. Is there a walbro replacement dual port carburetor for my mower

I have a question for you T-bone i have a cub cadet riding mower after i cut my back yard i got to the front i disengage the blades put it in neutral put the brake on and as I'm opening the gate it will shut off and it should stay running but it does not. Any Ideas.

How do you back up on the ramps if the hydraulic belt is torn ( not functioning)?

I grab that spring with a pair of Chanel locks and unhook the spring from the eye bolt

The only thing I would change is to use silicone grease instead of petroleum jelly (vasoline) since it will react with the rubber fuel line

Thank you very much for your help. I've had issues with my used troy-bilt 30 inch riding mower smoking badly. Your simple method of using soapy water to identify a blown head gasket has saved me time and money.

Ordering a steel one is exactly what I did for my Craftsman lawn tractor. Works fine.

stupid question from the deep woods of rural MS............ Ariens 91525300 zero turn. 42" cut Belt broke, wrapped around the right spindle pulley. Could THIS be the result of what you are showing here on that 52" cut ?

10:59 someone used cheese flavored tape to wrap up those wires some time back if the teeth marks on the wire insulation are any indication

Got a brain buster lawnmower for you, all switches have been tested, new coils new plugs everything has been over. Mower will start, runs like a dream, you rev it up or down, put it underload or even engage the blades, it stsrts coughing and spitting and smokes black smoke like crazy. Pinch off the fuel line for about 30 seconds while its running itll clear up and run fantastic, give it a load some thing happens. Carb has been taken apart, everything looks great. Gotta be a over fueling issue but not carb adjustments. Any ideas??

we have a timcutter ss 4225 toro 7000 series we have replaced battery seliond spark plugs parking brake and key switch and still no power can you help

I have to tell this mine would no start. I noticed be fore that. When I stopped it it would make. This noise like the armed were resetting its self. Same when you started it the day it would not start. I mover the arms in and out no sound. Picked up set worked the arms under set all of a sudden it made that sound. And sure enough it started started.

I think my Dad had that same bottle of Anti-sieze from about 1986. That silver permatex crap gets EVERYWHERE!

I was actually going to suggest the PVC pipe. When I was a plumber, one of the other guys made a big wrench to take out a specialty plug with internal tabs by boring a hole through a piece of 3”pvc and making a T handle with 1.5” pvc, and cutting slots in the pipe to fit the tabs on the plug. My dad used steel pipe with the end ground smooth on one side to set shaft seals, or he manufactured his own tools to fit the needs of the shop the rewinding tool for starter rope recoil springs was priceless, and so were a few little modified tools for carburetor work.

Your a genius! I know about engines and that change over was genius and all the tips and tricks that is pretty cool. Thanks for sharing part numbers and brands. I have made a couple of mistakes in the past when putting things back together. Once was a linkage issue. I couldn’t tell that the spring was broken in it’s coil over linkage. I had a surging problem with it afterwards and I finally asked the guys at my local John Deere dealer and one of them said that it sounds like a linkage issue and that I should check the spring that slides over the link and attaches to the governor. I did it and found the spring was broken so I went back to JD and replaced it and problem solved. No more surging. I don’t understand how a spring can prevent surging when there’s already a link in place from the carb to the governor?

I put silicone around the out side of all the seals on tuff tork transmissions a lot of them seals don't seal good on the outside of seals
