Thank You for commenting my friend

thanks
Damn I love how you explain things. You just got a new subscriber
I don’t have a click at all. The mower will fire sometimes and sometimes does nothing. Battery is good. I’m thinking it’s the starter or some safety switch somewhere. Or maybe a grounding issue. At this point I’m just thinking it doesn’t want to cut the grass today
Thank you! A diagnosis is exactly what I was looking for. Can't thank you enough!
Great video! Question - battery is good, so when I turn the key, I get NO clicking. However, if I keep turning the key off and on, over and over, eventually the Engine will turn over. I've replaced the key switch, the PTO switch, and checked all of the safety switches, but no change. After watching your video, I realized when I turn the key, I don't hear any clicking at all. Could it be a bad Solenoid? If good, it should click, correct? Any idea what might be going on here? Thanks so much for helping us all out with your videos!
T-bone, this has to be hands-down, the best, no nonsense diagnostic guide for a no start scenario on TH-cam. Very well done my friend 👍🏻
Thank you my friend
Agreed!!
I got a gravely 152z with 23hp kohl Er courage. I replaced all the fuel lines, new carb, has plenty of spark, new fuel pump. Will not start. 3 days ago sprayed brake clean fired no problem.
Just ordered mine but I fry it this morning turn the plug the other way under the bowl
Thank u vary much
He's right ,, if u take out the spark plug and gas comes out of the hole,,, don't crank it over with the plug wire dangling,,, the spark will explode that gasoline,,,, happened to me this morning, burnt my arm, almost burnt down my garage....good advice!!!!! Also burnt up all my headlight wires...melted 😮
😣
👍
Great Job. Answered my questions
You remind me of my favorite shop teacher, but with all your fingers 😂🤣
merci monsieur,
very smart!
you help me big time!
I've missed your videos! So happy to see you back. Your videos provide that "light bulb in my head" where others dont. I appreciate you!
Thank you my friend, we appreciate you watching and commenting.
Good stuff! You helped me out. Thanks
T-Bone; At 70 yrs old I have the patience but sometimes I run short on beer. My old Huskee 25 hp Briggs and Stratton is driving me nuts with safety switches. I was scrolling and found this video. I'm quite sure I screwed up the wiring cuttin' and splicin' . But WTH it's already broke, I'll watch a couple more of your videos and keep at it. Tomorrow now I'm reaching for the HENNESSY.
More beer usually helps with electrical 🤣. Check out my other Just Clicks on a Cub Cadet it's an older video but has a ton of good information in it. Keep in mind all mowers are basically the same, switches etc. Same stuff. Good luck my friend
T-Bone, you need to listen to Roy Orbison's Pretty Woman to practice that growl for Mrs T lol!.....Another great, very articulate video that so helps us DIY'ers... You are the best!!!
🤣 I will check it out. Thanks so much for watching and commenting my friend.
T bone what does it mean if my starter motor is still engaging even if I have my key off had to take battery cables of to keep it from trying to start
2 possibilities come to mind as initial things to test. Ignition switch is hanging up, starter solenoid sticking.
Fixed my click by turning off PTO switch.
we have a timcutter ss 4225 toro 7000 series we have replaced battery seliond spark plugs parking brake and key switch and still no power can you help

Have you watched Noah Hawleys series “Fargo” and “LEGION” based on a some X-men characters
Can't say that I've seen those.
Great information, thanks for sharing this valuable information, very detailed & informative.
Thank you for watching and commenting. Glad you liked it my friend.
Thank You Great Information
OMG! I've been fanatically searching, searching, and searching for that answer about the wiring diagram. What goes on the left side terminal and what goes on the right side of the terminal. Is the left side the battery terminal cuz your closet to the battery! Negative or positive side! God bless you and your teacher wisdom! Thank you!
All the answers are in this video and my other Just Clicks video. You don't need a wiring diagram, it's just a switch it doesn't matter how you hook it up.
I've been in adult education for 30 years, and have seen all different kinds of technical teachers.
You are one of he best!
Wow, thank you.
What if the solenoid lights it up with the key off or on? Bad part? Shouldn't it be off when key is off?
Are the mounting bolts for the relay selinoid important for a ground?
If it is a 3 post Yes. If it is a four post No. It still needs to be secured to prevent shorting
Good explanation Thanks.
4 different types of clicks that can cause a no start issue glad you posted this video on this matter of the 4 different types of clicks that you are going to test for all of them
So, what did you have for breakfast?
😆 Sausage, eggs and cheese toast. Normally on the weekend we have grits also.
@@RaleysSmallEngines I couldn’t quite recognize it on the way out.
@@The-Armed-Pacifist 🤣 🤣 🤣
can you help with my pressure washer, troy bilt, 190cc, runs till you pull the trigger to spray then dies, any idea? thanks
My first thought is the main jet in carburetor may be clogged. In most cases on cheaper pressure washers it's more cost effective to replace carburetor.
@@RaleysSmallEngines ty, ile give it a try
thank you for the video....this helped me out.😁
The old briggs flatheads mine is a 13.5 ic gold with cast iron cylinder from 1995. Mine is hard on the starter to turn over . I dont think they have a decompression valve .. I have checked the valve lash and it has really good compression . I guess thats how they are , with a cheap knockoff starter .
Or, you can makeba dummy mistake like I did. I cut my front yard, and wasn't paying attention, and turned my mower off, while the blade was engaged. A few minutes later I went to cut my back yard, but, click, click. What! Surely it's not the battery? Starter? Solenoid? Ahhh man, the blade was engaged! Arrgh. Started right up.
I have number 2 I think, I jumped across the starter relay and the starter motor pops up and engages but doesn't turn the flywheel. Is my relay bad?
No sir Wade, not relay. Try turning flywheel by hand. If it moves partially possible hydro locked or compression release issue. I have videos on those issues. Can't remember how they are titled, but compression release is covered in cam replacement video
@@RaleysSmallEngines thanks, I've watched your other videos.
I checked my rockers and they aren't loose at all. Without the sparkplug in it turns super easy with the plug fairly easy except on the compression stroke.
Without the plug I can feel a burst of air in my face while turning it by hand.
I put a long screw driver in the sparkplug hole and turned it till the piston was at the top and turned about a 1/4 more and the rocker is about .07 because ib used a business card since i don't have a fealer gauge yet and the other one also.
I'll recheck tomorrow .
Because in the past there were times where it would just click and then after a couple times it would crank over finally.
Good info but you didn't mention possibility No 100 of why there is only a click and motor wont turn over................
I have similar mower, so If you have good battery with good connections everywhere, and the starter engages but motor wont turn over, check for mice nest where starter engages the motor, after I cleaned that out motor turns over............
Warm looking pajamas.
Hey T-bone, question…
My mower is doing the click. So I replaced the battery, replaced the starter and replaced the starter solenoid but it’s still doing the same thing. I followed your steps, I traced voltage to the starter when I turn the key over. All good. But still nothing. You got any suggestions? I would assume since I have power at the starter I connected up the new solenoid correctly? I don’t see the flywheel trying to spin. So I don’t think it’s seized. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
My riding lawnmower start with starting fluid, The problem is, I can’t get gas out of the gas tank. I have new battery, new carb, new starter Solenoid, new fuel pump, all new bushings, new fuel filter. What is the problem? Please help!!!
I’ve got the single click going on, I just replaced the solenoid and it ran just fine I cut the grass 3 days ago come back and all of a sudden it turns and turns but don’t catch fire then just single click
Only my carb solinoid clicks but i cant get it off. The starter doesnt turn. All i did was change the battery.
My Solinoid has 1 Click engine doesn't move that's it. Been sitting 20 months new batt. Suggestions
My mower has fast clicks what does that mean?
Bad battery or loose connection at battery or ground to frame
Great video! i Love watching your videos. Thank You Very Much for the information in this video. i had trouble starting my ride on. i had to use a booster pack .it turned out the battery charge is low.
Thank you my friend.
T bone, i have a 4 post solenoid in my ariens riding mower. The key switch is connected to the post with the battery. I have the 2 small clip wires, 1 being ground what is the other? When i touch test light to them i get nothing from either wire? Solenoid and starter both tested good and wont start
You earned a subscription.
+more: brrrt, lazy/slow start can also be:
-poor/rusted grounding
-old battery that has volts but can not deliver Amps
I have a tricky Husqvarna lth151 (y2005). Tried to fix nearly everything (new main switch, grounding, cabling, new starter, new solenoid, new battery) and I now have two batteries in parallel and the problem re-appears every now and then. Next I will install a volt meter to see if charging fails occasionally and cause half full batteries + triple-check the grounding.
Well the unedited parts are very funny... but you had me from the tester! Glad you are very good at explaining issues and all possbe issues Than you from a canuc ! eyboard doesn't wor on some letters... lol have to loo that up.
Thank you 🙏 for help you
My mower won't move
Fantastic video T-Bone, really enjoyed the fun and great information. Mrs T should purr not growl 🤣🤣🤣🤣❤️❤️
Glad you enjoyed it. 😂
what do you do if you have a 3 post solenoid and it clicks but does not crank and you bought a brand new working starter
Just remember who your waking up to !

Hey Mrs. T Bone
love watching these videos. I learn alot. Thank you
Loved the screaming goat... that's kinda how I feel trying to fix a lawn mower! LOL :D
Great Vid 👍🏻. I’m troubleshooting now. Started with fuel filter. Moved on to spark plug. Now I’m replacing the fuse. Cub Cadet 1040. I have power to the lights and dashboard. But that click is coming from the backside of the seat. If not the fuse. I’m thinking solenoid next. It just quit on me as I was mowing. Shut off like now. Thanks again for the information.
Replaced the solenoid, it was toast. Replaced the starter, it was bad. Still getting a click, but a shake and a shimmy when I turn the key. Like it wants to turn over. Any advice? I’d like to sell this unit and move on. Appreciate you 👍🏻
Everytime i try starting my tractor it doesnt click or nothing but the red cable thats connected from my starter to the solenoid heats up so bad that it melts my solenoid
First make sure you can turn engine over by hand by flywheel. If it move freely, sounds like starter problem or bad ground. Check starter on machine like T-bone shows in our last video. Good luck!
Good info.
Thank you
What if the solenoid lights up with the key off or on? Bad part? Shouldn't it be off when key is off?
Check your ignition/key switch
Battery can still be bad . Needs to be load tested.
Nice info t -bone 🤜
Does a Briggs and Stratton solenoid on carburator suppose to get hot Deno
No
Thanks T-Bone
