If you replaced the deteriorated cap I must have missed it?
I do my gas tank with a 5/8 hose . Fill the gas tank with water then sifer it out. Just like cleaning a fish tank same concept. Works great

That's a job well done.
School can be fun if you have a good teacher. Thank you Professor T-bone.
You are very welcome
@@RaleysSmallEngines, gracias amigo es UN excelente video, sigue ASI ..
@@breannaoliver6316mucho gracias!
I replaced my Nikki carb with a KIPA brand on Amazon....its under $20, I cut all last season and had no problems... Just trying to help out for the folks like me who can't afford a $100 carb👍 Great channel!
Love your videos. You're a professional and very entertaining.
Thank you
Thank You for doing this Video. This is exactly what my Mower is doing. Now I can get it going tomorrow!
Good job tibon
I'm leaving a comment, you done real gooood!
Thank you 😊
Nice to have you back!👍
Your simple way of explaining is elegant sir. Thanks so much.
Another good one. T Bone, a great Teacher.
GM to you Sir. Just a moment to say thank you for being so very through with your
Videos. I am retired and within the last year I have begun to learn and enhance my
knowledge on Repairing Small engines. You have largely been my instructor in this
Interesting endeavor. Thank you for your time and sharing your knowledge with us all.
😃👌👍👏
Thank you William. We are glad you find our videos helpful.
Put a new fuel tank on my LT2000 a bit ago. Original had separated at the seam and yes the gaskets was in the bottom of the tank in pieces. Also put on a fuel shut off like you have here, filter and new gaskets in the Nikki using the Kohler kit. Runs perfect now. I also remove the Ethenol from the gas for all my lawn equipment and my classic car. It is nasty stuff when left to sit between uses.
Good videos!
It's a smooth operator now T-Bone! Keep up the great work brother!
Thank you
Wish I found you a few days ago Nice work man!!
The experience of T-Bone shines once more…Thank you for your teachings to us back yard mechanic boys..
I really enjoy watching your videos, thank you.
my mower is doing the same thing, so i'm going to try doing this and hope it works.
Outstanding. Every movement was directed toward accomplishing the goal. Great job. Thankyou Sir.
So nice of you. Thanks so much Walter.
Nice job on the fuel delivery fix T-Bone and that dang Nikki carb!!! 🙂👍
Hey Mrs T-Bone 👋
Thank you John. Dang Nikki carbs. LOL
🤣 Yes sir
Great job and awesome video keep them coming my friend
keep up the good work
Will do. Thank you for watching and commenting my friend.
T bone I was about to say I’d use a shop vac then you brought your vacuum out 😂
😆
Another great video T-bone!!
Glad you enjoyed it
Greetings again from the UK. To be honest I would be straight on the internet to find out how much a replacement tank was as this was far too much effort!!!! Great video again. Many thanks.
I m,odified my shop vac fitting to fit in the gas tank and sucked out 95% of the crap, works great.
Wish as a kid I’d work as a helper with a T-bone in my neighborhood just to obtain the knowledge, love the videos (and the know how) thanks Capt
Thank you. Wish I had someone to pass it on to.
@@RaleysSmallEngines You're passing it on to all of us, ya know? Good stuff man!
Whoo wee that was a booger bear for sure! Your knowledge and patience is something I wish I had. You are awesome and gained a new subscriber.
Love your videos T Bone. I've been watching them for quite some time now and have enjoyed every one of them.
Not only are they informative but some good fun too.
Cheers from the land downunder.
Pete
I appreciate that mate.
Another awesome video T-Bone! 👍🏻
Thank you
Your awesome. Thanks for the videos
Hello T Bone. After searching off an on for a video just like this i finally found you today! You are a great teacher and i learned a lot. I have basically the same mower, DOM 1/21 an it died in the middle of the job last fall. Briggs gives ya several books with the mower an they dont even cover my e1550e engine. I wish you, or someone like you was nearby but i can't find a repair guy to trust either. Rifht now i am push mowing mine an my 100 yr old nieghbors yard an this yezr my old body can barely do that too! So first i saved this for rewatching to better learn from you an then realized i just needed to sub an watch all your stuff. I also sent you to a buddy who will love this too.
Thank you, I hope our videos help you out my friend.
@@RaleysSmallEngines thank you. I'm thinkin my next stop will be the T Bone college of carburetor replacement ha ha. I dont have the gas tank fuel line problem....yet.
Another great video Raley. Thanks
Thank you Robin
Great diagnosis and fix.
Great Video
Thank you
A good video, when the fuel tank has that much built up crud the carburetor would have some crud in it as well, I would think. An interesting and enjoyable video sir.
Thanks for the video! My great uncle's Poulan lawn tractor that I inherited is doing the same thing and has the dirty gas tank. I've changed the oil, oil filter, and air filter. Now that I've watched your video, I feel very confident in replacing the carb and cleaning out the tank. Plan on working on it tomorrow!!
Awesome my friend, thank you 😊
Great show
👍👍👍.Thank you
You are so welcome!
Maybe I missed it, T, but what about replacing that deteriorated fuel cap gasket?
I have adapters for my shop vac to be able to use a narrow tube to reach down inside tanks like that to vacuum out debris.
I thought I was the only one who cuts up old white cotton socks for shop rags! 😂👍
It’s the easiest way to get it cleaned with a shop vacuum cleaner and one inch hose
Thanks man, you ARE da man!!!
Another good one.
Thank you 😊
Excellent video my friend Mr. T Bone, very educational and informative, keep them coming especially as mowing season is around the horizon.
Thank you, will do.
@@RaleysSmallEngines Question Mr. T Bone, I have a Snapper Mfg. No: 2690578
LT2042, 42" 20 HP Hydro Drive RMO and need to replace the drive belt, I've searched the web for help and all I have found are saying the most effective way to replace is remove the steering wheel shaft. Looking to you for advice on getting this belt replaced? Any assistance would greatly be appreciated.
Great video
Thank you
Another great video. Thx for the info tbone
Our pleasure!
When I get a new cap I remove the rubber gasket, it’s not going to last a year or two anyway 😊
Good deal..good job
Thanks!
Thank you! Hope you have a fabulous weekend 🙂
Wow!!! Thank you Robert 😊!!
That is so nasty glad you did a video of this issue plus sounds like it has Nikki carb on this briggs and Stratton the dry rot sounds like ethanol gas over the years unless you can ethanol free gas
good
I would probably go with 2 zip ties on that tank 🤣🤣🤣
😆 🤣
Wish I lived closer I have a generator that gave me fits new spark plug and new carb filter and fuel lines still don’t run right it’s surges finally I said the heck with and bought a new one.
Another good video t bone
Thank you 😊
Mine say kapowda, kaponda, kerplunk.😂 So I put a Edelbrock 750 double pump on her. Fastest mower on the block. Ok,I lied
Never put the fuel shut off ahead of the filter. Duh!
Hey, enjoyed the video. Ran into the same problem with the surging. Swapped with a new carb, same thing. I'll check the tank and fuel line tomorrow. However, I did notice you cleaned out the debris caused by the deteriorating gas cap, yet still used the same old gas cap after the cleaning.🤔 Did you clean out all the loose stuff off of the cap itself before putting it back on?? If so, sorry, I missed it. Sending a few bucks your way to show appreciation for your videos. Thanks.
Honda Vtwin 1 side runs good other cylinder hard crank and runs rough and surge?
Next Amazon order I place I'm going to use your link
And I'll tell u what I ordered
Is there a way for you to be able to confirm it worked
Thank you. That would be awesome. I'm not sure, but let me know and I will look. Please keep in mind, we get 100s of comments and just can't see all of them. Thank you very much my friend
Thanks to the crappy ass f'n Ethanol🥴
Got that right my friend.
Yep , it’s just to make us spend money and more money 😢😢😢
👍🙏
Thank you
My mower has the same symptoms. It's NOT the gas cap. I can get it to run again, BUT it quits after maybe 30 mins. Sometimes it lasts longer sometimes not. The fuel cap is NOT tight so there is venting.
Hello t-bone.What kind of fuel filter do you use?
Thanks for commenting Mr. Jim. We most commonly use a Rotary 10352 fuel filter.
On the link for the Walbro carb why do you call it a Walbro when it lists it as Briggs and Stratton off the amazon site?
Hitchy Magoo what I tried looking that part up on Amazon no luck 🤷😱
What part? I will attach a link. I thought I had links in description.
😂
What size of fuel line do you use?
1/4 inch
T-Bone : I have a 21 Hp B & S on a rider - all of a sudden it is running at a constant high RPM when throttle is at normal "run" position. It is not surging. The rpm is constant at 4000 rpm in run position. I can back throttle off to the lowest position and it will run at around 3500. What's wrong? Thanks!
Do you have email for troubleshooting questions?
How do you know what carb to put on , where is the number
Experience. I use the one in the video on all single cylinder Briggs engines. Link is in the description. Thanks for watching and commenting my friend.
wow those carbs aren't cheap
Gave you a thumbs 👍 up, but I believe you're all thumbs. Ha, but hey, that was a good video. Thanks
Lol Thank you my friend.
I have several of them and refuse to use them
A NIKKI carb and a 15.5 Briggs are a bad combination, ALWAYS.
