I've been thinking about doing a run with 2 red mages, a white mage, and a black mage. Any thoughts?

Pretty much all classes are trash other than warrior/basic attack. Magic system sucks and there's lots of broken stuff / not balanced. Maybe bring 1 caster to speed up some battles. I'm talking about the original.

My first party was F/F/RM/WM, which as it turns out was really good and a recommended setup even today.

9/10 because I never had the PC version.

I mean kinda it's a multiverse and some stuff like there's only 1 Gilgamesh/Yojimbo who travels across the multiverse looking for strong fighters and powerful weapons and some games have direct sequels but other than that the different universes stay separated from each other save for niche cases

There's a few good spots ,like the zombie dragons where you get the tail or the ice dragons where the armor was rite before evil eye or what is he a blue or green dragon at the top of the sand tower

Always just buy whats needed. Especially if youre going to grind the tip you will want Fire2. 2 out of three enemies you will encounter will be weak to fire.

4 is the best starting point. Then X, then VII, then IX, and IX is only this low on the principle that you don’t want to start with the best game in the series, which IX is.

While playing FF16 and it’s lore of the Fallen..it just really reminds me of FF1..and makes me wish/hope..that someday..I’ll be playing a new FF title and it gets revealed sometime into the game that you’re playing in the future of that world from the original Final Fantasy.

I suppose in game canon would have to place an Ether as something akin to a vitamin drink, or perhaps energy drink..something simply meant as a refreshing tonic because magic had been long since extinct. There’s be no logical reason for a “magic restoring” drink to be on the market. So a drink that has a beforehand unforeseen side effect of restoring one’s magic casting energy…kind of like how coffee is meant to give you energy but may make someone unexpectedly crap their pants if they drink too much.

I still have a proposed theory on this all…if there’s in fact anything more to this plot point. Considering how in the original FF7 timeline, it’s suggested that 500 years later, humanity is extinct. I can’t remember if this was a confirmed fact, or a theory in itself based solely on the post credits scene. But I think the Planet had no interest in protecting Aerith, the Cetra, nor humanity whatsoever. In fact, activating the Weapons really could be argued that it was an attack on humanity. They weren’t there to stop Meteor. I think the Planet saw even the Cetra and by extension, all of humanity as it’s biggest threat. You could even go further and say that the Planet also allowed for the Geostigma later in Advent Children, to wipe out humanity. In both cases, without Aerith’s direct intervention and her ability to commune with the planet by way of the life stream after her death(makes me wonder if it was even the planet itself or if it was rather the Cetra who used the lifestream to intervene) the Planet seemed all to fine to allow humanity to end.

I think Baram is Banon. He has beef with the empire, he got stabbed in the back by an un-named friend. You meet them both during the 3 way scenario split. And he is one of those WoB loose ends that never gets explained

I think the writers didnt factor their own already well established lore prior and just wanted to kill off a party member for emotional impact 😅

I kind of miss them being called tinctures. Playing it around original release and thereafter, with only a few Final Fantasy games available, it was one of those little details that gave the game its own unique flair. Such as Relics instead of accessories. At that time there was no other rpg game so epic(at least to me) as FF6(3). So with all these little details, Moogles, a Sasquatch…I mean c’mon..name another game that even today that could have a party of a Ninja, a Sasquatch, a King with a chainsaw and a Gambler who throws cards…when a friend described this game to me before I got to play it, I was already mesmerized. A King and he has a chainsaw? A Bigfoot? You can play as an Imp? A teddy bear who has dance magic? Was like dude this is bananas 😆

Whatever the reason may be I'm willing to bet that Ethers have caffeine in them. It has to have some kind of addictive property to get enough repeated sales to be sold at every establishment. The MP restoration is just a side effect.

I always felt like she was part of a cut side quest or something, considering someone else in town is looking for skilled dancers, but theres no way to send her there.

I never thought about it. It is an interesting thought for sure

The only version of FF1 I've ever played was dawn of souls for the GBA, and I always assumed she was added into it just to give the player some sense of direction in a game that sorely lacked it. I had no idea she was in the original version of FF1 as well

So they're probably sold for EX-imperials M-Tek. Though, besides the obvious "it's a game mechanic, you're overthinking," it's probably a taste thing. They were probably used in the war of Magi, readily available so people acquired a taste for them even if they couldn't use magic

I think maybe a Warrior of “the night”…learns all the deets while working the streets…Jezebel character class Mastered. Makes a dime for her time by night but her true wares are secrets.

I am confused by the end bit. Did you record this a long time ago? Switch has had the remasters for well over a year now. There was the physical release debacle, but digital has been there the whole time.
