Usually when I am suggested videos like "x FF7 facts you didn't know" the video doesn't deliver. There is one, maybe to facts tops that are new to me. Not so with this video for some reason. Other than the ff7-chrono-parasite section, almost all content of your video was news to me. great :)
Im always in amazement when I find out all the older final fantasies are small teams done in a small time. Also, Kitase is like a DM who loves to TPK. It would've been completely different if we lost everyone else, so many side quests either gone or changed. Edit for spelling
I love hearing about history of games, like what they started with, it would neat to find more screen shots of the original idea for ff7 or a script for detective Joe's story. Lol
There's actually another link between Chrono Trigger and FF7: Both Jenova and Lavos have pretty much the same origin. They both fell from the sky in ancient times, destroyed an ancient civilization and spread a coruptive influence throughout their respective games.
A lot of characters dying would be similar to final fantasy 2. Where your entire group is made up of three people and a rotating cast of people who die for that last fourth spot. Also possibly final fantasy 4, though not many people actually died in that one they just kept leaving.
That would've been a crazy version of FF7 if everyone died. I agree that it would soften that game's main death, but I kind of like the idea of an FF7 where your own choices in the game affected the characters who died in it.
I don’t know if I’ll ever not be one of these guys that says they’re never playing the remake of VII, I just started the OG one again a few months ago, and the same quiet, dark beauty to me is still so much better.
Hot take, but Spirits Within was / is a great movie that got a bad wrap. Light years ahead of its time in terms of the CG, and had a cast of great actors tied into it. Love that one and still watch it on occasion to this day.
Oh I said nothing about it being a bad movie, and didn’t give a ‘hot take’, that’s what historically happened. I just watched it a few months ago myself!
@@TheReturnersHideout Oh, no, I wasn't saying that directed at you. I was being a hint sarcastic but generally voicing my own opinion on the movie. I was one of those that jumped at the chance to see it in theaters.
Was it always going to have stuff in Japanese? I don't remember exactly where it was in the game, but a significant amount of words not translated- part of the gameplan? (not talking about yuffie's hometown)
Ah yes. It’s not up at the moment anymore, soon enough it’ll be back on Spotify. I didn’t like what it ended up being so I’m revamping it. Thanks so much!
people dog on Spirits within. Sure it was a financial failure for the MOVIE but. Most of that money went into developing the engine to create the movie. When you take out the cost of that engine that went on to be used to make games for the ps2 that made Square a ton of money, Spirits within didn't technically ruin them. 137million to make the engine + FF spirits within. the movie made 85 million. HOWEVER the engine itself was said to be worth about 100 million for how advance it was when other engines at the time as inferior as they were, were between 30 million to 80 million to make. So, if you take out the price of that engine that would later make them hella bank in the years to come, that's like saying it cost 37 million to make, but made 80 million. Which is still a profit. Thus, Spirits within should NOT be labeled a box office flop. The movie itself had odd pacing for sure, especially since it gave very little to explain why the spirits are even there and had a very rushed 'final girl' resolution.

Check out Phantasy Star 2. It has an unanswered ending. That's up to your interpretation :D
Hot Blooded Detective Joe, I need an origin story game for this guy!
Me too actually! I couldn’t find too much on it but I’ll keep diving for more!
I hear he's moonlighting as a chocobo racer :)

I think Big Joe from Xenogears ((which also was going to be FF7 at one point)) was the remains of Detective Joe.
You might be right!!
I knew about the start & abandonment on SNES, but that's it!
Subscribed.

Another FF7 fact a lot of people dont know know is that Xenogears story was submitted for FF7 but was deemed too dark for Final Fantasy
Learned something today 👍

The saddest video game death in history? You are talking about Nei right?
