Only the MC would dare wear that first one. Having grown up in the 60s, I hated corduroy. My mom would always buy me corduroy pants and I hated wearing them. They were hot. They were uncomfortable and they were ugly.

  • @francesbernard2445

I have noticed that some guys can never have enough white dinner jackets to own. Maybe the biggest reason my mom had a hard time when we were small is only because she tailored wedding clothing for female persons. Perhaps only because she was wary of those who might be as result false accuse her of grooming male persons for her daddy to hire elsewhere while she is white and 6 feet talll. After while driving school bus one day she spotted some assholes showing off in the back of a truck just ahead of her school bus after she got them to leave her school bus that week for not having bus passes. Perhaps that descouraged her ambitions when it came to learning tailoring of all jackets designed for young men to wear. Come to think of it has anyone ever wondered why no wedding clothing shop in the world caters to both men and women and children? Could that kind of clothing shop be found only in heaven or what?

I think I'll have to disagree regarding italian tailors double-working the button-hole. So far, on all the 3-roll-to-2 italian bespoke coats I came across, the button-hole is only worked on the outer side. Maybe I was lucky, not sure....

Maybe a bench magnifier would be a good idea: it could provide a big lens and an LED ring light while leaving both hands free. It might be tricky to find one with an arm which is big enough for tailoring work though.

Perhaps Sir, but as Mr Mahon is fond of reminding me on a regular basis he has no clothes that truly fit him 😉 We work hard to make sure that he is dressed suitably, but our priority is always our customers garments. We're glad you enjoyed a good part of the video. We've had comments both ways about the length of our videos being too long and too short. So we do currently choose to keep some of the close ups of the cloth shorter than the rest. If you're looking for greater detail of the cloth and to be able to see it closer, we would recommend going directly to the cloth merchants website, they have a great page for most of the cloths with a lot more detail too. Thanks for watching.

We do have our own selection of house cloths for Redmayne customers to browse through, but as many people will ask to have a look at the selection of cloths from the British merchants - Holland & Sherry, Harrisons of Edinburgh, Huddersfield Fine Worsted, Dugdale Bros, Fox Brothers to name just a few. Some of these companies (such as HFW and Fox Brothers) disclose the cloth price per meter others ask you to get in touch directly. They can vary hugely in price.

Thanks to the magnifying glass, I can see the texture of the cloths more minutely. When I was young, I tended to choose unique cloths or ones others didn't wear. But the older I get, the more I go for ones that look ordinary but have good quality. Now I can understand what the maestro intends to say about the cloths.
