Once you start the get the hang of rocket jumping, to me at least, there is no better feeling in all of gaming when you successfully fly through half of the map to get a game winning kill on an enemy.

I have a massive tip with scout, practice moving around someone’s head, above them, behind them, around them, learn how to track while being above them. This will help with countering Heavy, Soldier, Demoman. Play really aggressive. The schizo style of movement will make almost anyone rage.

I have a degree in both game design and creative writing, and I got into quite a few arguments with my (very old-school) game design teacher about the importance of narrative in video games. Funny enough, we both used the Portal franchise as our main example. He argued that Portal 1 & 2 remained so timeless because they were excellently designed puzzle games with barely any story. I argued that Portal 1 & 2 retained an active fanbase to this day because its characters and setting were so well written. Good game design is still more important than good writing (that's why I opted to study both) but good writing is what keeps games memorable. And a TRULY great game is one that blends the two together, using writing to reinforce gameplay and gameplay to reinforce writing. TF2 does this by writing each of its characters to enhance the unique, farcical gameplay experience each one provides.

Yo, you can disable voice chats and mute players. And if you want to disable the text chat just type hud_saytextime 0 on console. Harassers are sad pathetic people that can only get attention by being annoying, cause no one gives a crap about them otherwise. It's pretty cool to see new people getting into TF2 honestly Btw, I have 2000+ hours in this game, 300+ hours on Soldier and I've played on one of those rocket jump servers only ONCE, from 2012 till today x.x This video encouraged me to try one of those maps and finally learn to actually rocket jump for real.

The thing about Sigma is you can hear through his dialouge that before the explosion he went on picnics and trips with Mercy, actually being compassionate and well-minded. After the event...not so much

to be fair, i have 38 hours and i rocket jump as little as possible and still get it wrong

most of those jumps are way harder than your typical rocket jump you'd use in an actual game, so you're doing great actually

there's always two things to keep in mind. Soldier, while having one of the lowest skill floors, probably only higher than pyro, has probably the 3rd or 4th highest skill ceiling.

your right in soldier he has a low skill floor but a massive skill ceiling. You will find that most classes in tf2 are like this

Honestly, I recommend not mentioning the harasser at all, that’s what they want attention. Keep trying! It’s always great to see someone try their best at mastering the tf2 classes!

TF2 is so hard to learn! I did five days of pyro like three months ago and it was pain, even as someone who played it as a kid. You did a fantastic job, though! It sucks to not be able to super clutch it at the end, but you improved! Which is awesome! I'm glad you got such good people. I didn't know there was so much going on with soldier! And EEE! KITTY!
