The Strongest Tank and The Weakest Tamer
One has abysmally weak writing while the other has incredibly strong writing.
Quite the opposite anime we got here. The first is about a strong tank in terrible fight scenes exploring little and the other's a weak tamer in no fights but exploring lots. One's horribly made while the other is simply delightful.

    Like others say. I implore you to read the manga. A lot of the questions would get answered if you did. Also its kinda a nitpick but you're comparing yourself to a long living species. While 300 years does sound like along time, its the equivalent of like three years for a long living species like vampires or gem folk in this case. So if you have tha in mind the story is about a weak character finally getting her redemption and so on.

      So anime should always stand up by itself and never rely on its source material. I'm not saying the answers won't get answered in future seasons but as it stands there's a lot of questions still raised. I have heard the manga is incredibly well written but at the time of writing I won’t be reading it. Nothing against manga at all, I just haven’t dived into the medium. Also it really isn't a nitpick when I explain these intelligent, free thinking creatures who live for centuries (and who get bored and experiment) never bothered to think about their mortal enemy. All long living species will experience time the same way, how they perceive themselves and their future prospects would be different. For instance, elves wouldn't really consider dying of old age an issue anywhere near the same way as humans. It doesn't mean they see everything around them at twenty times the speed which would be so if they experienced twenty days passing as a single day (it also means they would move twenty times slower). Three years to elves or gem folk is equivalent to three years to humans, only the percentage of their lives is different. Incidentally, our protagonist gets bored within a few days of recording notes not years and needs to be explained who the poison one is and why she's all by herself when that should be common knowledge.

      Without exception anime is supposed to stand up by itself, not be propped up by the source material. I heard the Eragon books are very good but the film was utterly abysmal. The last airbender film (live action) was also abysmal yet the series it came from was great. From what I heard Deadman wonderland horribly butchered its source. Terrible anime adaptations do not undermine their source material; if this is the case here then the same applies. Also, I’m afraid I don't review light novels or manga in general (haven't actually read any). Nothing against them at all, it's just I have never dived into that medium.

      @@dlfarmer7601 Ooo you don't want to fully open that door. I have quite the laundry list. And it isn't clean. But to quickly sum up: - To be honest with you, on rewatch I have come to accept some of V5 as ok. Shocking as it may. It was about 50/50 on hits and misses. I started ranking volumes by the ratio of hits vs misses per volume. (imo of course). And despite the terrible ending arc (fight with Leo), I appreciated some of the character and world building that took place earlier in the volume. - V6, first half I thought was probably the best writing since V3. I quite enjoyed it. But then the second half happened. Starting a decline in the writing that only accelerated after that. It began the era of Team R/W/BY as always right, righteous and wise, despite their very grievous errors. Starting with the Argus arc. Maybe 55/45% on hits/misses. - V7 really began the death spiral as logic went out the window. Replaced with Lore bending/breaking, character switchups. All meant to force through narratives. What I call "they were there, now they are here" situations and depictions when the writers know they had no way to explain the journey. Fanservicy scenes meant to pander to parts of the fandom, resulting in cringy and nonsensical depictions and actions. And yes, I am in the "What the did to Ironwood was a crime" camp. The volume had a lot more misses than hits. - V8 was more of the same, on steroids. It had almost no hits. (Except for the one scene of Watts calling out Cinder. That was mildly entertaining to see.). - V9 was mainly filler. Did little to nothing to progress the main story. With the only goal seeming to be fanservice and flipping Neo. Most everything was reset by the end of the volume. Even though the volume was cut short by a couple of chapters because CRWBY ran out of money, I doubt the missing chapters would have made a difference. Again, more misses than hits. Despite being visually interesting. At the end of the day, I blame the writers for dropping the ball and going for the low hanging fruit. imho of course. (I really tried to make it short.)

    It was even worse in retrospect. Mostly as their 'season 10' attempts or clips to gain money clash with one another for what the idea is supposed to be. 1) Vaco sucks. Team RWBY isn't there. Everyone hates them. We make them the bad guys for season 10. 2) Vaco is awesome, everyone is friendly and working together just fine when Team RWBY is there. Literally feeling like season 9 was to avoid any consequences for the team and still leave that 'Jaune killed Penny' mystery reveal for season 10. Worst part in my opinion is one very simple thing that could have worked to solve a ton of their problems... The Freaking Tree Leaves! 1) take it back, burn the damn things, force Salem to confront her issues (what the tree leaves smoke is supposed to cause) and thus Salem loses her immortality as she is supposed to reflect on her actions or have the world blown up! 2) Tree Leaf Tea down her throat! They literally had an answer to the immortal witch problem that could have been used to in a fight or something to win! Have team RWBY fight Salem minions as the tree stuff does its magic as everyone is trying to fight out the clock to win. But nope... Plan idiocy was their only plan!

      @brookeneeley396 Honestly there were all kinds of nightmares behind the scenes and I can imagine they hadn't planned out the series from the outset and no doubt changes made throughout the process. However, the end result is a very well done plot with a mostly solid cast. It's definitely not perfect by any means. The battle of Haven was packed with contrivances, the scene where the ace ops leader dies was god awful, Mercery, Emerald and Hazel were blindly naive about Salem and Cinder was immensely 2D (I highlight these in my video on rwby 1 through 8). Do you have any other problems in mind with the series (outside season 9 of course)? Getting back to the original point. The end result is all that matters, what happened behind the scenes or what the creators said about it doesn't matter. Back to the Future was a nightmare behind the scenes and due to a sudden lack of funding they cancelled their original ending of a nuclear blast sending them back to the future and changed it to a lightning strike (as well as many reshoots and changes during filming, including changing the main actor half way through). Yet the end result was great. Likewise Dr Strange 2 and Ant Man Quantum mania were both written during filming with constant changes and both are abysmal. Point is, the end result is what matters when judging a series/film and is why I rarely speak on the background.

"we got to know something if there wasn't this kind of stuff like that like without magic, we'd just have another anime I would not call out" Really struggling here. Are you saying Realist hero is a fantasy anime without magic? Because it does have magic and the parts that don't involve magic is moronic. "and they were adding tension by them not realizing the was at their fort" Okay, assuming you meant "not realising _Souma_ was at the dragon fortress". Couple things. Adding tension for tension sakes is not good. You could've strapped nukes to every character and that would have added tension. It was a massive contrivance that he knew about secret entrances into the dragon capital and that he managed to get through undetected. Besides what tension. The protagonist just turns up and wins. "they tell us about the reason why he brought that big ass boat" The reason was obvious - to use it as a distraction to lure out the dragon air force. The means of strapping giant wheels to a massive flagship, of arranging giant beasts to pull it, and the impossibility to drag it across the continent is a serious problem. Another issue I've just realised is that the race of flying creatures at war with Souma only spotted the massive ship when it was on their doorstep. Also they sacrificed their flagship when they already had the means of sneaking undetected into the Prince's chamber. Could've just had a dozen warriors bust into the room and quickly make him surrender.

      @@PositiveNihilism. Apologies for the late reply, been hectically busy on my end. Anyway… Ruby never had an official title of hero, she became the leader of her team and later became the sortof leader of the whole group (along with Juanne). She has many heroic traits and has consistently tried (and several times succeeded) to save people so I’d happily call her a hero. Your ideas are certainly a lot better than what we got as these ideas actually involve utilising these different perspectives to challenge ruby in different ways. However, like the scene we got, it raises the question of how neo could possibly know any of this. I’m certain she has never met any of these people (with general ironwood and Penny only in passing) so she would never possibly know what relationship they had of Ruby. Now the fun bit, your alternative scenes with reference to the fact this is neo’s attempt to discourage/break Ruby. For each one this is where I would have ruby strongly argue against each point (if we are keeping this god awful season) as that would reflect what she thinks of each person/decision. I assume you meant Lionheart than Theadore. Anyway, I like the setup of your scene - showcasing the fear he felt along with his depiction of Salem - but I would probably include him arguing exactly where has Ruby’s courage has lead to, perhaps even suggesting submitting would lead to less loss/pain. Ruby could argue back to submit is to allow Salem to spread misery everywhere to everyone. She must continue to fight against all who cause evil. This neatly leads to Ironwood who could argue something like “and if your actions cause more evil?” I agree Ironwood would try to argue ruby’s plan was flawed, that her team had gone behind his back. However, ruby would rightly argue she had no other choice and from her perspective she had saved all the civilians (as there’s no possible way for her to know what happened in Vacuo’s desert). Incidentally, her plan was by far the best. It was only undone because Cinder used the very powerful lamp to figure out exactly what they all had planned, not that the character would argue that of course. I like your scene with penny though she wouldn’t have the winter maiden power. Perhaps she could try and argue ruby should have gone along with ironwoods plan or something. Ruby could become less aggressive but argue it was the right thing to do, that ironwood planned to destroy mantle. I think it would be better if Pyrrha didn’t fight Rwby and instead, after the penny fight, she would explain her sacrifice as you said but then be depressed and kill herself. Saying her sacrifice was meaningless. Clover should not be involved in any of this. He never had a personal connection with ruby and his death both had nothing to do with Ruby and was profoundly moronic. Easily the worst scene in Rwby before season 9 but I’ve broken that down in a different video. So after the Phyrra section this would be ideal to bring in Ozpin and have him explaining his dastardly actions (at least what Neo would want to show her). I wouldn’t even have him beat ruby at all and instead a montage of him manipulating people throughout the centuries leading to each of the previous examples. He would then explain ruby was just another naïve child he easily manipulated. Ruby would then argue against neo herself, saying none of these people felt this way and she (through Oz or someone else) can she actually argue against these points to which she would. Ruby would put her trust into Oz, believe to keep fighting no matter what happens. Neo could then get furious with her and then perhaps have each of them fight her all at once. Much prefer your ending where torchwick throws ruby into a pool of the tea rather than her drinking it herself (especially quite like the similarity with his ending). I truly despise this scene as it utterly destroys her character as with frankly little effort Neo got ruby to kill herself. I understand and agree your idea of using a similar scene to challenge her in different ways would have been far better. Difficult to implement but would’ve been far better than the insultingly terrible scene in a mire of abysmal writing.

      @PositiveNihilism. Well the puss in boots example doesn't work as Neo isn’t nearly as omnipresent as the reaper. And Salem wouldn't bother to speak of ruby to Neo (and they only met briefly in the whale). At a stretch, Cinder might've talked about it, or at an even bigger stretch neo found this information out herself (the spiders and her own investigation). Anyway, your visuals are far better than what we got and not only does it allow unique fight scenes but unique character interactions. The dialogue and arguments I suggested could have been happening during the fight scenes (Phyrra and Ozpin being the exception). The purpose of this scene is characterisation over everything else. It needs to establish why Ruby would fall into despair. It cannot be understated just how badly the original scene and season failed at this. Anyway, couple points: Ruby being seen as a grim version of herself is a neat visual but it would only convince the real Ruby to fight instead of giving up. Ruby definitely wouldn't grovel at Torchwick's feet. She would almost certainly argue back at him but if she was somewhat broken by the experience she would likely softly apologise (more to everyone than just Torchwick).

      Profoundly disagree. An anime all about kingdom management/politics/geopolitics isn't aimed at incels and "unsociable weeb gamers", it's aimed at a particular undeserved niche. Realist hero was just made by incredibly moronic writers. As for the growing harem in the show, that was merely there because thats been done in many other anime. If it was aimed at incels then surely there'd be more fanservicey stuff. So far we only had two of the girls sleeping in his bed with him. Isekai is primarily done as a form of escapism. It doesn't matter how sociable or insociable someone is, there are many people who enjoy the genre. Most Isekai are simple light hearted entertainment (quality very much questionable) but I strongly argue it still has enormous potential for incredibly great and unique stories.

Could even add a theme of self reflection, new beginings, surviving at all costs or if you want something darker, perhaps the protagonist could refuse to accept his/her inevitable death. The protagonist could even question whether this world is real or simply his dying imagination. Of course it would massively depend on what kind of tone you'll be going for.

      1) At the time of this video came out, this plothole wasn't filled and I said in my video on Realist Hero S2, that it was solved. The solution however cracked open a hundred other plotholes as it involves literal time travel. 2) Missing the point? They said the population was starving then had the leaders scoff down all the food they wanted. The anime is supposed to be about kingdom management but was so stupid it didn't realise this obvious problem. Yes the creators wanted a food scene but failed to realise this anime isn't suitable for that. Also they had supposedly starving fishermen throw out edible octopuses because they looked funny. When people starve they will eat anything, from sawdust to soil. 3) So the kingdom has a professional army (well several but I digress) yet relies on random people to train to become adventurers? Why not have special squads of teams delving into dungeons. Game mechanic rules simply do not fit with this setting is my point. 4) So for 500 years the kingdom was carved up between four distinct areas with their own armies, priorities and racial makeup. This is a recipe for disaster. Didn't think I need to explain why but oh well. 500 years is an incredibly long time which means there’s plenty of successions for all four rulers who each have powerful armies and reasons for expanding their territory. This kind of system would always cause friction among these different factions and lead to unrest. All it would take is one or more corrupt or ambitious rulers during a time of weakness to start a civil war. Having four standing armies loyal to their respective ruler is something horribly dysfunctional. There’s a good reason why there has never been a kingdom that has had multiple armies controlled by different rulers. 5) In any kind of sane world, what happened in this show would've made Souma deeply unpopular in many parts of the kingdom. There was a civil war where he killed hundreds if not thousands of soldiers, each with their own families and such. Not to mention every person in the corrupt nobles and dragon people territories would feel Souma was a tyrant king. The corrupt nobles would have spread all kinds of stories of his cruelty while the dragon people would see him as an usurper. Carmine's plan to intentionally spark a civil war has catastrophic consequences that the anime fails to grasp. 6) So Souma is from modern society so he should have a solid understanding of the importance of Police, Auditors, Banking systems, Export/Import Duties and Judicial oversight. And more importantly he is the king. He has the power to enact these changes. To create a police force, start with soldiers on patrol with specific tasks with trustworthy people made to be inspectors. For a banking system, they have these adventurer guilds across the kingdom (for goodness knows what reason) so they would be ideal to use them as connected branches of a bank (the first paper money were IOUs which could be cashed in at any branch of bank in the country). Export/import duties are pretty much common throughout any kind of society but here it could target goods to/from the enemy kingdom. Judicial oversight requires a solid code of law and respected individuals to enact; given what happens in this show, they have both but Souma could give them more power/oversight to clamp down on bad nobles. In any medieval society there are solid institutions to keep a society functioning. There are always groups looking for corruption, a law code to enforce rules and systems of managing goods. These may not have been as effective as systems in the modern world but they kept their societies functioning. Medieval people were not stupid. Yes, the seven nobles were corrupt and were lending aid to an enemy state but the way to deal with them is not to unite them with more enemies in a full blown civil war, it is to cut of their money supply, find evidence of their wrongdoings and lock them up one by one. A civil war is perhaps the absolute worst thing you can do in any kind of kingdom. By the way, later on it is discovered Carmine and the former king knew exactly who were the corrupt ones so this whole mess could’ve easily been avoided. Still I'm glad you agree Realist Hero has many problems.

      @@dlfarmer7601 1) Yet it was clear that there was more to the king than just being a stupid monarch. It would've been better for you to delay judgement instead of jumping to the wrong conclusions. 2) The point being to show the population new recipes for ingredients they already had access to but didn't know how to cook it or if it was even edible. Showing important people eating the new food shows the population that it is safe. Again, really simple stuff. The part of "When people starve they will eat anything" is just your personal incredulity, nothing more. 3) Also simple stuff really. The army is for defending the kingdom or attacking another. Meanwhile the adventurers specialize in hunting monsters and doing odd jobs. The kingdom can have its army that they need to maintain and train, and when they need it they can contract adventurers to do other kind of jobs. The army has dicipline and a fit purpose meanwhile the adventurers are adaptable. I really fail to understand what's your poblem with this 4) 2 of those rulers are from long living races. Castor has been alive for 160 years and Excel since before the kingdom's founding. Expanding their territory would be nuts because the other rulers would stop them. It would require all 3 rulers to stop being loyal to the kingdom for one of them to get funny ideas. "There’s a good reason why there has never been a kingdom that has had multiple armies controlled by different rulers." my dude, that's literally most medieval kingdoms 😂😂 centralized military was almost not a thing for feudal societies 5) Not really, their strategy was on point to make Souma look like the good guy. The improvement of the kingdom's management and progress against the famine already gave people a good impression of him. Him getting approved by the princess that people already liked and also using the artifacts for entertaiment purposes made him popular. 6) "He has the power to enact these changes" is not that simple, that's why he had to get rid of the nobles. You might be really confused but being a king doesn't really give you all the power. The power of the king comes from being recognized by the nobles. If the nobles are against the king, that king is completely fucked. Noble society is way more complex than what people think. A king doesn't have power by just existing. Just because the mc became king doesn't mean he can install all of those systems in a day, this has to be a gradual process and most nobles would need to approve it. "the way to deal with them is not to unite them with more enemies in a full blown civil war" Seems like a really simple solution to me. Make them come out to light, take them all out at once. Easy. No need to try to investigate every single noble for evidences that might not even exist taking into consideration they are probably good at hiding it. Instead make them think they can win first. For me the problems with realist hero are (from reading the novels): 1) The harem is bad. I like harems, this harem is dog shit. Even smartphone isekai might have a better harem 😂 I don't feel any love between the mc and the wives apart from the singer/ninja/marine one. All others feel like forced political marriages, the princess is probably the fakest of them all. 2) The characters are too cartoonish, I don't believe they are real. Their desires, strenghts, flaws, etc are too simple. They all can be described in a single sentence. 3) Resolutions to conficts are really simple too. Is basically X guy dies we win, or we killed X monster, or we save X place, and that's it, there are not really greater repercutions or issues after the conflict is resolved 4) Lack of creativity: Everything always feels the same. We need to solve X issue, we made X development, we made relationship with X country, etc... compare that to Release that Witch where we have a constant development of technologies and industries, but also we keep getting reveals about the mysteries of the world. Also thanks to the theme of the series (the witches) we keep getting twists on the development of the nation, similar to scientific progress 5) The 2 final arcs are boring af. There are no stakes anymore. The conflic is between people that are not really enemies... Hell, to be real, it really never felt like the mc could ever actually lose or even take hits... In all of its faults, it was a great journey. The world building was on point, the development of the kingdom was great. The characters of other kingdoms really surprise me multiple times. I said that I didn't like how simple the characters were, but at the very least all of them made sense on their behaviour, views and alliances. When you know their strenghts and weaknesses, you can predic how they will act. When you undertand the politics of the world, you can predict the nations that will be in conflict, the nations that will take a hit, the nations that will get anexed by others, the purges that will happen, etc. The fact that the mc delegates work makes other characters shine instead of just being the mc solving everything. I didn't like the harem but at least the mc is not the only dude with multiple wives 😂. The main antagonist in particular was a great character, but bad antagonist

      Let me just err...*cracks fingers*...reply to your comment step by step. "Analysing anime is dumb" Either you believe breaking down any piece of media, films, books, anime, films, etc is dumb or you believe specifically anime is the exception for some reason. From a writer's/creator's perspective, seeing various story analysis is not only useful, it is vital. One cannot create a good story if they don't know what a good story is after all. From a viewer's perspective, story analysis lets people appreciate good media better and incentivises people to search out better forms of media. Not to mention it is both fun to watch and write analysis of good/bad anime. "...the writer skipped those minor details on purpose..." So those minor details are the story. It's called how a realist hero rebuilt the kingdom so when I break down how terrible the steps the 'hero' took to rebuild the kingdom, that cannot be considered minor. Its emphasis is on economics and politics after all so there is no alternative timeline where these can be considered minor. But even if my video was on every minor detail in the show, there's nothing wrong with that either. What is a story if not a plethora of minor details coming together to make major details. Also if the writer did skip these details then he/she is a bad writer. "many kids won't bother looking for these kind of stupid minor details" Anime is not just for kids (and this anime specifically talks about polygamy, slavery and deep economics as well as geopolitics) and almost all "minor details" come together to make a show. I’m currently making a video on Legend of the Galactic Heroes and that is filled with a plethora of background details to fit with the empire's and Alliance’s aesthetic. If the animators/ directors/ producers didn't bother (your words) to include such details or include similar stuff then they are bad at their jobs. You can't adapt everything but it’s vital to get across the purpose of world, plot and characters. "but the overhall baseline story is amazing" If the light novel follows all major events in the anime then it would also be terrible. "with this you're trying so hard to underrate the anime who has great potential" I'd agree it certainly had great potential, there are very few anime about kingdom management after all and I was very eager to watch it. So when it horribly failed in every regard in its kingdom management that potential went sailing merrily away. "I still love this anime no matter how many critics it gets" Fair enough, I can't change how you or anyone else feels about any piece of media. This video was to objectively break down this anime. You can like bad things and can hate good things. I don't like Princess Mononoke despite acknowledging it is a very well made film while I really enjoy high school prodigies despite it being terrible on just about every level. "you should read the lightnovel , so you can get a clearer understanding before criticizing the anime" Anime should always stand alone from its source material. You wouldn't tell someone not to review the hobbit trilogy until they have read the book. "it's anime in the end no need to analyse it that thoroughly" Why? Are you suggesting anime is a lesser form of art to live action. "you're preventing many kids who may find it enjoyable to watch ..." If that's the case, excellent. If I can reduce the audience for crap like this and steer them toward decent anime like Genius Prince, all the better.

It came across as the writers directly telling the audience what our protagonists are feeling. The Racoon essentially says ruby lost all hope and Yang is thinking about her love for Blake while the caterpillar has each of the protagonists confront a mirror version of themselves with Ruby failing. This is perhaps the bluntest method of portraying character arcs outside of the protagonists saying it themselves. I would agree that the idea of introducing a character solely to show the audience how the protagonist is feeling isn't bad by itself. It entirely relies on how it's done. If it fits with the world's rules (or believable for the character to be there) and how natural it is for the protagonist's feelings to be brought up. The world is so unbelievably broken in season 9 that nothing comes across as believable and with how contrived the scenes were nothing about them came across as natural. The racoon randomly auctioning something precious to Ruby (or at least was supposed to be) for "enough hope to fill this jar". That was a bad scene. The protagonists following the caterpillar into his home to have magic smoke blown into their faces so as to confront them with mirror versions of themselves isn't a natural cause and effect. As for the arc they put Ruby on, it is exceptionally terrible. While I agree it was executed very poorly, the idea itself, of having ruby of all people be so depressed and disheartened that she kills herself is absurd. She has been through many many hardships and has confidently led people time and time again. Everything she does in this season is entirely opposed to her character.

    I recently got some videos with scenes from this anime recommended by TH-cam and I thought it looked decent enough to have a look at the full thing. While searching, I then got your video here recommended and you sure saved me from wasting my time and from getting a headache from the stupidity of the story. I get the feeling like this is one of the cases where an author got a great idea for a story but they know absolutely nothing about the central theme of theiŕ story's premise. In this case the guy had the really intriguing plot idea of how a modern administrator might run an isekai fantasy kingdom without the usual totally overpowered isekai main character trope. But unfortunately the author has not the slightest clue of how to write such a character or a story like that. Pretty much like how a lot of the worldbuilding and mechanics in many Isekai or "trapped in a videogame" stories are really really crap because the authors don't know anything about videogames so their videogame worlds don't make sense. The equivalent would be if Andy Weir, when he had the idea for the story of "The Martian," would have just went ahead writing the story without knowing anything about science, physics, astronomy, orbital mechanics or human spaceflight in general and he would have just made it up as he went along instead.

    • @dlfarmer7601
      @dlfarmer7601 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      So absolutely agree. The potential for this story was incredible but the writers had all the knowledge and insight as a toddler with crayons up their nose. Clearly there was not a shred of research done into societies / economics / politics / characters / stories or indeed anything whatsoever when they made this. I can really picture if these writers made the Martian they would've had Matt Damon take off his helmet and hold his breath when stepping outside. If you're looking for a show with a similar premise but actually good, I'd suggest Genius Prince. Alderamin on the sky is also a good shout.

      I have, it was on the waterstones website and my own website, it was called Fractured Weapons. It is now in the process of being remade. I thoroughly re-edited it, improving the wording, grammar, and dialogue. There was quite a plethora of small things that needed to be better written and I have finished that step. Soon I will hire an editor to go through it again. Once that is done (expect several months) I will publish it under a new title and cover. It's new name...*teasing soundeffect* ...I will reveal in a future video. So excited to announce it. Also, I'm about halfway to finishing to the sequel.

      Honestly, I don't know. Always say writers (plural) as there will be a whole team behind any anime. The one who wrote the source material, the anime director, the studio behind it, and to a lesser degree the animators, script writers, voice actors, etc who would make an impact on how its translated to the screen. I wouldn't like to put the quality of an anime on the writer of the manga it's sourced from as that could be entirely different. I also purposely don't do research into the background of any of these shows cause when I make these videos I purely look at the end result. Sometimes difficult if not impossible such as Rwby and Rooster Teeth but it's important to be fair.

      It just makes it really really odd. They could have had the dragon use any other kind of attack but chose the one that it was weak to probably because they simply want the shot of the fire breath being split by the large shield and didn't think about what was set up. Would've been better had they said it was weak to ice or lightning or something and actually used those attacks. I've never played pokemon so can't be sure but I hazard a guess that its unusual if not rare for monsters to use attacks they're weak to.

    These animes are the tip of the iceberg of series about protagonists being kicked out and the people who kicked them regretting it. We already had a few examples like "Expelled from the Hero's Party I choose to love peacefully in the boonies" or something like that, it's second season aired along these series. You wouldn't believe how many mangas and LNs start with an adventurer party, not always the Hero's, kicking out a character only to realize too late how that person was the only reason they could veat anything. I believe it feeds on that fantasy of how no one seems to appreciate your hard work and if you were to leave your workplace would collapse on your bosses incompetence. And in nearly all situations the other members of the party are @ssholes (except one or two waifus) instead of good friends or allies that have gone through a lot together and are heartbroken to have to leave a friend behind. You can double the numbers of such series if you add servants (often buttlers) mistreated and kicked out or who resigned and left their bad bosses so said bosses suffer by their absence. ... The weakest Tamer is a lot better because of the reasons you mentioned. It is funny that it, along with the Lvl 99 Villainess and the Wrong Way to use Healing Magic, there are three very decent isekais this season. Someone mentioned Ishura which is not even close to the best animated show this season but it has a couple of genuinely good fights and every important character has interesting powers at least. The there are the big ones in terms of fantasy, Frieren and Delicious in Dungeon. Now if only Sci-Fi fans were eating nearly as well.

    • @dlfarmer7601
      @dlfarmer7601 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I never actually thought about that but you're right this has been in quite a number of anime and your explanation makes sense as to why. Yeah the three isekai is great, all three did things that were unique in the isekai genre and each were entertaining. I was completely taken aback by Ishura. The tone and worldbuilding was shockingly bewildering. I don't think I could bring myself to continue that one. Didn't know whether Frieren was a part of this season or the last so I left it out but after watching more of it, I can safely say it is very well made. Easily could make a video on it. And for delicious in dungeon I watched a couple episodes but know I need to go back to it (it didn't really grab me). Yep, looks like it'll be almost all fantasy this year.

    You did Shangri La Frontier injustly dirty. I may not always have stake, because its a video game and not a virtual purgatory, but when it does it has decent ones. During fight with Weathermon they cannot lose, because there could be a threat of PK Guild killing the boss if they don't do it. Also they already wasted a small fortune in healing/resurection items, so earning that items/money back could give rival guilds an edge over them in form of time. Also the main purpose of the show isnt some grand plot or high stakes, but just the fun and enjoyment experienced while plaing your favorite game and beating its challenges. For me at least. Maybe some people just like the fight scenes and/or "magical girls" with voice of Alucard from Hellsing.

      oooph. I actually watched two episodes and the first was the worst tonal clash I have seen in a long time, while the second was perhaps the worst worldbuilding I have ever seen. The first started with a peacful city with optimistic characters then suddenly the robots appeared tearing apart the main character in grusome detail. That was then followed by the isekai guy turning up and joyfully destroying the giant robot. I have no idea what the show wants me to think about this show. The second had an unending gatling gun of names, places and terms leaving me hopelessly confused while on top of showing places I have no clue of understanding where they could possibly be.

      @@dlfarmer7601 I think you should give the show a second chance, It's pretty great. It's just the storytelling style is a bit unorthodox. The first episode serves as an introduction to both the world and the anime as a whole, with three main takeaways. 1. The world is full of powerful beings, capable of widespread destruction 2. Regular people are trampled because of said powerful beings 3. These powerful beings appeared largely because of the "true demon lord" These themes get explored as the shows goes on. Second episode can be a bit jarring, because the show shows only a glimpse of important characters. Their backstories and motivations do get explored more later on, and the show doesn't reveal everything about them just from the introduction. Overall the show tries to hype up the characters, each of them being powerful enough to stand their ground against eachother, while padding out the rest of the time with drama and world building. There are several amazing, meaningful fights later on, each employing tactics, foreshadowing, and suspense. You don't know who will win, or even who will fight.

      I agree that Ishura is at the same time a very weak story with animation that while decent is nowhere the peak of the season. That said, it ticles to the little boy in me to see who will win, the skeleton that moves faster than sound or the swordsman that can see the weak points of anyone or the lady in a spider mech. If it had Ufotable levels of action it would be among the best since it is basically smashing action figures against each other. But there are better series even for that.

      Does seem to trend that way these days. At least the Genius prince has a somewhat accurate title (wouldn't really call it a guide and it is stupidly long). But that one was really good. How a realist hero rebuilt the kingdom however is unbelievably stupid (made a couple videos on it). It can even understand starving people equals sad people, or how the slave trade works, or border agreements, or rebellions, or kingdom management, or anything at all. I do really hope they make a third season as tearing apart all its idiocy is incredibly satisfying.

      I am sure many have mentioned this before but the long titles is because these stories often started in a famous japanese website for webnovels. Many famous and infamous novels that later became anime originated there like Re:Zero, Mushoku Tensei and even non isekai bad stories like Mahouka. Mahouka was famous as a novel for walls of texts interrupting action and character dialogues explaining every detail of the magiv system. I hate the manga and anime but I like how well thought out the magiv system was and how it followed it's rules and still allowed the MC to be the most OP thing in the world. Back to long titles, because of how the site worked amateur authors put a full on synopsis of their works in the title to hook readers that may be interested. The problem is that when editors contancted the authors about publishing the novels and making money they did't change the titles and later on people saw how popular those long titled stories were and put long titles to their stories even if they mever published them in the web. Sort of like how Disney often shortens titles to a single word even if the movies had longer titles origibally like Onwards but i recerse.
