Great show! I still like Arenado to the Yankees. They have a need at 3rd and reportedly had interest. The fans could be brutal for him if his offensive numbers aren't great, but they will also embrace his defense. I'm not one who thinks his bat has declined so much that he can't bounce back in a better lineup. If he is here at the start of spring I have no doubts that everyone will handle it like pros and he'll likely get a chance to be traded before the deadline. I don't think he finishes the season here.

I've been on-board with moving Matz to the pen since I watching him pitching relief a couple of years ago. He was NASTY as a reliever! Yeah, he's getting paid as a starter, but when he's constantly on the IL he's getting paid to do nothing. I'd much rather be getting something from him vs. nothing.

St. Louis is clearly putting profit over their product. This is a slap in the face of every Cardinals fans. They know they will sell out home games regardless, sell shit loads of merch regardless because the cardinals have the fan base for that. But if something doesn’t change I’m probably going to check out, fans can’t let them think this is an acceptable strategy moving forward.

Frankly, JD, I don't give a flip at this point. There will be a baseball season with or without Arenado. I like the guy, but personally, I'm exhausted with all the "will he stay or will he go" drama. In the meantime, I'm excited that spring training is just around the corner. That's about all my old, tired heart can handle right now.

Nado hasn't mentally checked out of baseball. He's a professional, and understands there is a business side to the game we all love.

The regular season was dull and boring

I revisit the Arenado for Stroman deal. We have a pitcher that we can pitch to the trading deadline.All the young guys fall into place. Stroman is still a little cheaper than Arenado. He is more tradeable at the deadline, like Fedde and Helsey. If Mikolas is in the rotation after 4 or 5 go to Matz. Together they make a good starter.

Leave the poor guy alone. He will be you best 3rd baseman, if he stays, and he has a no trade contract. Younger players like him, just fine. He will be the grown up on the field.

I hsate to admit it, but iI was wondering if you could platoon him with somone like Nolan Gorman. That lefty righty bat thing.

In all honesty, probably a good thing mo isn't signing lars and Donny to long term contracts, since ownership insists on having them complete contract (mikolas), rather than considering a dfa when they're not worth anything. Dewitt Jr or whoever the artist is, will be a wieght for even the smartest fo to vie with. Mark my words.

Especially, in my area, where I been Cardinal fan since 1961, yet mlb decided I'm no longer in Cardinal territory but still close enough to black me out. They're trying hard to make me quit baseball. I watch every game if they let me.

The most important improvement needed is batters that do well with Runners In Scoring Position I believe one more year of Matt Carpenter would help he can be a mid game batter off the bench that comes in as a utility player and wears down pitchers and draws walks which is his strength

I have no problems with Brendan Donovan a in left field. he did fine here.

My lineup would be Donovan LF, Nootbarr CF, Contreras C, Arenado 3B, Burleson DH, Walker RF, Gorman 2B, Herrera C, Winn SS. Pages C, Saggese IF, Siani LH OF, new guy RH OF on the bench. Baker gets DFA which I don't like but he's blocked. Rotation: Gray, Fedde, Pallante, Mikolas, Matz. McGreevy first man up when someone gets hurt just like Pallante last year. I think this team can compete in the Central! The offense was supposed to be good last year and is mostly the same. Fedde and Pallante are upgrades over Gibson and Lynn.
