Well done, JD! You remembered the Locked On frame this time! 😂 I was fairly pessimistic about the outlook for the Cards this season, thinking they'd probably be in the 74 - 76 win range. After listening to the interviews at Winter Warm Up though, I am cautiously optimistic for a decent season, .500 not outrageous at all. Maybe even 83 - 84 wins again. I think Thomas nailed it when he said it sounded like they are going into this season with a chip on their shoulder, in a good way.
Lots of hopium being smoked this past weekend. Growing pains are coming. That to me is the only gurantee about the coming season. Lots of frustrating errors causing lost games is pretty likely. Big slumps that they are going to be allowed to play through at the expense of the record. I would not want to be Ollie. No one is patient these days, but they'll be preaching it like an end times soap boxer for the next 9 months. I think 75wins is optimistic unless a whole bunch of kids make giant leaps. Sure, we only lost Goldy from a terribly un-clutch offense, but I also believe folks are discounting the stable presence that Gibson and Lynn provided last year too. We have very little consistent pitching if Gray gets injured, and it will turn into musical chairs of AAA pitchers getting rocked at the major league level.
If you could trade Arenado for Stroman, you would save some money 💰 More importantly, you have a veteran pitcher without a no trade clause. If he isn't working out, it's easier to trade at the deadline.
Agreed 100 💯 the yanks offered strowman he was 10-9 with a 4.13 era hed b our #2 behind grey easily the cards didn't wnt it that was the best deal we were getting for arronado
@georgesouthwick7000 no the way they talk now new hitting coach and they know this year is it for them to show up grow up or get cut traded at the end of the year
From the Winter Warm Up interviews, the player interactions with Brant and Jon Jay both seem to be VERY positive. They really seem to be connecting and communicating well.
If they keep Gray he will be their only starter worth following. If they keep Matz, Mikolas and Feddy they still only have one starter worth following. How many games are they expecting to win with only one decent starter? It won’t be as many as last year. Losing Lynn and Gibson who won 17 games between them it would seem like a lot of wins to expect some rookies to make up for. If we get 9 wins out of some rookies we pull up from the minors it would make logic to think that instead of winning 83 games, 75 is a more realistic number.
Better or worse isn’t the real question when you’re dealing with marginal measurements. The question is: Are they playoff caliber or not. The Cards in 24 won 83 games and finished 10 games back in the division 6 out of the Wild Card. They were not a playoff caliber club. Can the 25 clubs be as good as the 24 club? Maybe. But that really doesn’t answer the big question.
Walker or Tyler O"neill. STL and you picked Walker and the rest of Cardinal Nation would have gone with O"neill. When STL got rid of O'neill and Edman they screwed up big time. Walker can't hit a outside pitch and Edman is steady Eddie. Potential sometimes hits .200.
DON'T speak for Cardinal Nation, as you know squat. If you had taken the time to look back, MOST said to cut O'Neill, Carlson and Liberatore. NOBODY said to get rid of Walker. Keep trolling
Sick and tired of the Bowtie. He's overstaying his welcome. His 15 minutes of fame ran out in 2013, if not 2011. It wasn't you Bowtie. It was Yadi, Waino and PUJOLS. You were just along for the ride.
Since you are convinced the cards are going to tank why stoke hate for the team and dewitts?dewitt will eventually realize its time to move his franchise elsewhere.heres hoping for nashville.
Hey JD; The way things are lining up with the roster, hopefully someone(s) emerges that can be a trusted voice and leader in the club house. Wetherholdt’s toughness on the field could translate to a team leader. Donovan seems to be a guy the team respects. Of course Sonny Gray has those qualities. Good show! Thomas input on winter warmup was great!
Matz belongs in the bullpen no matter how much he makes
If walker noot gorman have good seasons we will have success no question!!
Optimistic attitude, but realistically no reason to believe it will happen.
@georgesouthwick7000 time will tell it's 50/50

"hopium"- love it!😄😄😄

I really think those you g guys will do good hitting with men on,hitting with 2 outs, better fielding, we took 2nd place with these young guys ,
What in the world would make you believe this will happen? Just wishful thinking.

A good 3rd base ain't a bad thing
Fans and pundits have wrote them off??? Ownership and the front office said they are taking a step back.
If this than that…too many IFs and not enough proven. I hope the team crushes but not holding my breath.
Who do you see as the 13 position players
Is there any way you can get information on the new hitting coach- interaction with some players , this is going to be very important this year !
I know he has been working with Gorman a lot here in Arizona

What was the Astros sending back
I think give Gorman this year , do or die year no 3a ,let him go whole year up here
Lots of Good young players, but Also Need Older experiences players 😌!
Probably worse than people think……if that’s possible.
Do they move JJ from short this season and to what position
If he’s lucky, they will trade him to the Dodgers.
If they do, and I think they will, it will likely be 2b. CF, maybe?
Walker is pretty much fried at this point. He looks like little league trying to play the outfield and he can't hit the ball for s***

As far as O’Neil is concerned, one season and a half out of 5 hardly makes him a sure thing.

No. That says it all
Just look at the roster.
Cards stink.😂😂

Mo should've kept his mouth SHUT. Move 1 should be fire Marmol and hire Yadi.
I think they are going to be a last place team this year
Worse than the Pirates? I think that's a stretch ...
U thnk or u hope ?? Are you a cards fan?? we were close last yr the team is solid and younger were a potential playoff contender !!
