JD, I still remember a black light poster I saw many decades ago. There were two buzzards sitting on a limb of a dead tree in the middle of the desert. One buzzard was talking to the other buzzard. The caption below said, "Patience my a** I'm gonna kill something!!! That's exactly how all of us have felt for the last 5 years or so. I remember Mo going out to California to talk one-on-one with Nado when he had his option year and could have gone elsewhere. Mo convinced Nado to stay with the Cardinals. We see how that one worked out JD.
Love Locked on Cardinals. Been a Cards fan since the late 50s. I live in Iowa. Do you realize how many blacked-out games I could not see? I'll be watching on fandual this year even if the team is not great.
Time for patience is gone, Mo. Patience was given by the fans and y’all failed with the approach you made to roster construction. The fans have circled September 28th on their calendar as it’ll be your last day running this club. As a fan, my expectation is that next season will be a lost season as you’ve done zero to better the club. The Cards will suck and hopefully get a high draft selection. My prayer is that real, actual change comes to the minor league and development side and within 4 years, the Cards have built a homegrown roster that’s a contender and they stop relying on filling out roster needs with mid to low level free agent signings. Why that approach was ever a thing still baffles me to this day. For an owner that’s risk averse and not one to spend large on free agents….putting your efforts into building a team through free agency is a head scratcher.
I agree, but they still need to make a strategic free agent move to fill the missing homegrown pieces. We have a a better core than people think. Trading Arenado for a pitcher and picking up a slugger would set us up to win the Central.
Mo isn't saying "patience" he's saying "patients." The entire Cardinal fan base will be patients in an insane asylum after another year of mediocrity. He knows it.
If we traded Arenado for Stroman and spent some of their savings on a Santander, we would be competing for the Central and still saving money. This would create a bridge to the new Bloom era while remaining a force in the National League. Instead, more patience while we start over from scratch. Don't trade pitching except get Mikolas to go somewhere and pay half price if possible.
The bar is set so low that while yes, we want another championship, I think most people would be happy to just win one playoff series! It would be a start, anyway. Mr. Mo? Respectfully, we've been patient for YEARS!!!!! Can we see some damn progress??? Lock in a star for the future window of contention? Extend someone? Finally see a few prospects turn out? We've yet too see much of these (The exceptions obviously being Winn, Contreras, and... honestly, that's about it for "big" developments. Yes, Burleson, Helsely, etc. have been good, but we've not had a lot to truly build around).
Oh I been a true cardinals fan from way back . When Brock, Gibson, before to long Whity, smith , herr , George, Keith, and Vince , McGee and then the.best catcher ever the best player of all time . Yep Albert and now hear we are mo has been very good for the cardinals. The managers very good not the one we have today nope . I have always said players getting paid way to much. And we in the Midwest has to cut back in spending hopefully this using younger players will work out
OF teh teams remaining int eh NFL playoffs, I'd have to go with the Commanders. I dont' necessarily like them that much but given the rest of the eams init, that's my choice
Why do owners buy teams if they do not want to spend money. Not every team can be the Dodgers but teams need to do more than the Twins, Pirates and A's do.
The F'n Dodgers are ruining baseball. Why root for your team when you know there's a team that seems to have an unfair advantage. Sure everyone else could spend as much but that wouldn't be feasible or sustainable for most teams. It's a joke.
Arenado to Boston: Cards eat $19M (Colo eats $10M) = Boston pays $45M/3 yrs. Cards get David Sandlin (#8) and Brandon Neely (#30). Boston wins WS, Nado to HOF, we move on!
Baseball is officially dead. If you're not a big market team. If you don't have hundreds of millions or even a billion dollars to spend, you will get nowhere from here on out and the cardinals are dead, but boston l a new york and chicago, will be your dominant teams from here on out
Im actually feeling excited about this off-season the vets that were let go an $$ that was freed up i like the team as it stands i like it bttr than last yr pallante mcgreevy r upgrades to lynn an Gibson burly at 1b instead of goldy is gnna improve the offense contereas healthy as the main dh is a 30 hr guy winn siani walker Donovan all young stars who have potential to get better arronado could have a bounce back yr if kept grey fedde at the top of rotation an helsly back as closer were a possible playoff contender we only missd it by a few games last yr go cards
@@byronmcgarrity9018👍 we have a shot thats a good thing what if we added a few peices at the trade deadline to put us ovr the top like n past playoffs
I would would be upset if the cardinals were doing what the Dodgers are doing. There is no professional sports player worth the money they are making. That is why I don't go to sporting events anymore

What starting pitching the only one is gray
I thnk fedde has a shot to be a legit #2 with a full camp and season as a cardinal
Pitching depth doesn’t mean much if most of them aren’t any good.

Cards need new ownership and not a low end billion family as the current owner is it needs to be an
higher end owner
If the Cardinals
If they don't get one more ace to go with gray don't be shocked if the it 3 loosing year's
It’s time for some action JD

Mo needs to go!
@Richard4Torah allow me to add to your comment with just two words.....NOW! TODAY! Thank you sir
Mo should said all of them wanted to come back and then worked on the back side to where he wanted to go
Why do owners buy teams if they do not want to spend money.
Not every team can be the Dodgers but teams need to do more than the Twins, Pirates and A's do.
JD let's take Scott say the cardinals offered 80 million and the dodgers offered the 72 million which one do you take
Jd two part part question as Mo what are you willing to do
Than as the other GM what do want and willing to give yp
You need to take a break until something happens! STL needs to live up to their check book and decided to play Arenado. He's signed!

Agreed!
Everyone else can’t spend as much. You’re high if you believe that.
My opinion, I don't think it will be sustainable for the Dodgers either, I think sooner or later the Dodgers will have to pay the piper !
Runway is the bad word
Arenado to Boston: Cards eat $19M (Colo eats $10M) = Boston pays $45M/3 yrs. Cards get David Sandlin (#8) and Brandon Neely (#30). Boston wins WS, Nado to HOF, we move on!
Sorry but I am all for a salary cap
Why can’t I see the comment they are white

That's the spirit. I wish all Cardinal fans had your optimism.

Impatient fans are not the best fans in baseball.
