    Don’t tie extending Donovan with Arenado! We need this guy. He is truly the heart & hustle of our beloved franchise. Pay him & keep him!!

    Donnie needs to be in St. Louis for the next 5 or 6 years. He does literally everything the right way, and I especially love that he doesn’t chase, doesn’t swing and miss, or strikeout. It’s a breath of fresh air in today’s game.

    Totally agree that St. Louis needs to pay Donovan. Give him a three year 45 million dollar deal. He's more than worth it

      @brianr4214 19 วันที่ผ่านมา

      No 15m a year ? No, absolutely not. He's a helluva player but not 15m a year. 8.5 mil ok , 4yrs that 34 mil if he put up his nose at that then that is on him. 4 yr 8.5 pr is a respectable offer.

    The way they are handling Donovan doesn't bode well for the future. Tied up by Arenado is nonsense. They aren't paying Lynn, Gibson, Goldschmidt already. They could extend Donovan and Wynn without breaking the bank until they unload Arenado. Extending them would prove being committed to going younger. Even a trade Arenado for Stroman saves money right away and gives you a pitcher to trade at the deadline. If God forbid if they actually compete for the Central, we'd have three proven pitchers to go with two prospects. Trade Nootbar, but extend Donovan. DeWitt acts like Stan Kroenke when he moved the team. Cardinal Nation always knew we weren't getting Soto or Yamamoto, but not going after anybody will put us even further behind. The Royals are embarrassing Cardinal Nation with our be patient, lack of direction. I would like to thank the organization for over 50 years of my life being the crown jewel of the National League. I fear that is coming to an end 💔

      Not paying Lynn or Goldschmidt was a good business decision. Both are well past their prime, and if a team wants to get younger, you don’t need players like them.

    • @stephenconnell2689
      @stephenconnell2689 18 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @georgesouthwick7000 They should have traded Goldschmidt the when they traded O'Neill. They could have gotten something. Then, unless they had a better deal for O'Neill, let him play out his contract year. Now, they acted like they had to get rid of Arenado for sure. Everyone is low balling them for him. Still having Mikolas on the books for Eighteen million. It's been nothing but mismanagement since the Alcantara/Gallen trade for Ozuna.

    Anything on Biscut (Burleson). We need to extend him as well. They need to build around Burleson, Donovan, Winn, VS2.

    I'm fine with signing Hellsley to $8.2 M. Idon't mind that they inked the other two. I wsould like toget Donovan inked, you're right. I wouldnt' lose a lot of sleep over Nootbaar. wither way. I would like to give ANdre Plellante another go around. Bottom line, the trhee that did sign, don't bothr me one way or the otehr. Nootbaar would e teh oly one I woldnt'miss that much. For the record, I dont'hate teh guy. we do have options for him.

    With the quality the team the Cardinals will have in 2025, there aren’t going to be many opportunities for “saves”. Helseley should get a lot of rest, because in order to get a save, the team has to have a lead, and these occasions will be few and far between.

  • @icaleinns6233

    Donnie is the backbone of this team. Pay the man, he's earned it!
    I'd love to see Noot avoid those Nootcidents, but history isn't on his side. Much like Matz.

    Im so tired of this half ass approach. If you are going to rebuild that means get rid of all your older players that you can get rid of(Arenado, Gray, Contreras ect...) and trade Helsley at his most valuable point. Instead they are keeping Arenado, Gray, and Contreras, and just resigned Helsley, it makes no sense.

    Of course they being cheap and what’s the need to do a rebuild and develop players when they don’t wanna pay the ones they got now who have a good start to their careers. So what’s gonna happen with this rebuild and they develop some real stars how are they going to afford to pay them.

  • @prestonbucher18
    @prestonbucher18 21 วันที่ผ่านมา

    No disrespect to Brendan Donovan…….But Donovan isn’t a guy who you buy out the arbitration years for. He’s not due to be a free agent until 2028. Pay him year to year until the last year and then work out an extension.

  • @frederickbradley8255
    @frederickbradley8255 22 วันที่ผ่านมา

    Bill DeWitt is one of the richest owners in baseball. This nickel and dime BS is aggravating. If you don't want to compete, sell the team to someone who wlll.

    • @prestonbucher18
      @prestonbucher18 21 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      You a new fan of the Cardinals?? Bill DeWitt has NEVER been one to spend like a drunken sailor. If you expect that now, you’re going to be disappointed. He doesn’t need to spend a lot of money. He just needs to spend wisely and that’s been the biggest problem over the last 5-6 years.
      The other thing. Bill DeWitt being rich personally doesn’t really factor into the clubs spending. The team is a business and DeWitt is going to spend what the Operations budget allows. How much of that budget that actually gets spent is up for debate and I have zero idea what percentage gets spent to fielding a roster…..That’s a separate discussion. The main point…..anyone who owns a business is not spending their personal funds on their business. They spend what the business allows.
