Don't take this wrong, this is not a hit on Gen Z or a defence of Gen X, but why does America have some sort of selective amnesia about the fact that they sent millions of troops to the middle east between the 1980s and 2010s? It's so weird. Y'all seem to know that there were wars in Iraq, Afghanistan, Yemen, Kuwait, Iran, Syria, and Libya during this time; you seem to recall that the USA was involved; you seem to know that there were minimum hundreds of thousands of civilian deaths; y'all even seem to remember in the distant recesses of your mind what WMD stands for and that there was something important about a place called "Gitmo". But then when it's time to talk about Veterans your amnesia kicks in and you're like "well, I can't remember any war since Vietnam...so I guess they must all be Boomers." And the weirdest thing is I don't think it's due to ignorance or just not caring about veterans post Vietnam. It seems to be deeper than that. I have two theories: 1. it's a traumatic response: much like the Vietnam war, most of the American involvement in the middle east achieved very little beyond war crimes and deeply rocking people's faith in their country and in humanity ...unlike Vietnam, which Americans were only engaged in for 8 years and that had a boiling over point, conflicts in the middle east often went off and on without clear resolution for decades - with multiple generations of the same family sometimes fighting in the exact same place with no progress .. people just carried around that day to day trauma without a catharsis or release or hope for so long that it just got too much to unpack so now they just repress it and its lead to a culture of repressing the issue. 2. mass hypnosis...Americans are forgetting that veterans younger than 50 exist even as I am typing this - they don't want to, they don't mean to, but they are powerless to stop it...even as they are reading this, their hypnosis is re-convincing them that the last American veterans fought in Vietnam.

That guy is right about the "equality or chivalry, can't have both" part. If we (guys) would treat women the same way we treat men, they'd be appalled. Men aren't generally friendly or courteous with other men and there are plenty of a-holes among us.

Idk man I’m an ancient millennial but I do have to tip my hat to gen x for living through the aids crisis, the cold war and they were pretty much modernized the west. Gen X androgyny walked so that non binaries could run. Granted some millennials were also alive during aids crises and Cold War but gen x definitely got the brunt of it which is why it’s so interesting that they always resort to “we drank water from a hose” when they literally had to fear nuclear annihilation Lmaoo

I played outside, I rode bikes, I had bb gun wars with the neighbo kids, and we had contests to see who could stand barefoot on the pavement of the road in 120 degree weather as a kid. I am a millennial, and I would never say that was a hard childhood. Gen x are pansies for complaining about that like they went through some kind of war. The difference is that I had Playstation, and they had job and financial security. I will trade you in a second you soft crybabies.

Lol as a woman I have heard of all of these, except the laser blue eye thingy. But colored contacts have definitely been a thing for a while. The snail creams were already on tell sell when I was a kid. Some other ones are sticking needles in your face (microneedling), chemical peels, trying to not make facial expressions to prevent wrinkles, waist trainers, fake nails and so on.. it was fun watching this video and being reminded just how ridiculous all the expectations are. Gen x thinks he’s representing them and their “no safe space” mentality and gen z can’t take shit serious so it’s all a joke. But Em’s entire point in that song is that old shit he use to say, the crazy outta pocket disrespect is no longer cool. Em is tired of slim and Marshall is tired of them both.
