Everyone likes to clown on swamp monsters that think they're god's gift to the world. Also girls that actually look up to her because they're also simultaneously ugly and somehow conceited as well.
Oh my god I'm rolling my eyes so bad at the last one. Them talking about "struggling" and having to be "smart with their money" for once in their lives when most people have had to do that every single day of their lives? Get over yourselves.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed that people stop watching them, so they have a reality check when the money runs out and they discover what struggling actually means.
a lot of these people ARE actually like trust fund babies and so when social media becomes their job and theres a camera in their face all the time, the true colours are shown. so many of these people can choose to be influencers because they are financially secure. no person is going to pick being an influencer over working at a pizza shop
yes ! to be JUST an influencer and not working any job on the side requires a level of financial security from the get go bcus the income u earn from tiktok would be very unstable depending on how many views or followers you have / times you have gone viral etc.
Our value system is so out of whack. Someone that tells bad jokes and talks into a camera is better compensated than the person feeding them. When actors, influencers, and athletes make exponentially more than teachers, doctors, and pilots our society is the only outcome.
That influencer complaining about BeReal pictures of people lying in bed - girl, normal people can't go on their phone at work and post pictures??? Of course normal peoples' BeReals are gonna be them lying in bed/watching tv/whatever The stupidity!
Some of these "no one wants to work" from people who grew up in a higher class household have the same energy as the financial influencers who say "this is how im gonna be a millionaire before I'm 21... First, work for my dad's multi million dollar corporation. Productivity is going higher and higher but wages stay the same... And also automation is destroying jobs. So, unemployment goes up. It's not that people "do not want to work" in reality.. the job sector is dwindling and so are worker's rights. As a member of a low income family, I despise these smug jerks... The people who live in this community are the hardest workers I've ever seen. Even though, their wages are going down, and bills are getting higher and higher.. they still push on. And lots of these people have multiple jobs cuz of the low wages and increased price of everything. So, no poor people do not want to stay poor. Yeah I know those kinds of clips are most likely rage bait but it's still annoying to hear. I hate that when the working class gets small levels of aid... They immediately get chastised by these kind of influencers.. all the while, not a breath of criticism to the welfare smoochers that are the wealthy class. Getting tax cuts, lower tax rates, and government subsidies. All the while, they manage to pay little in taxes. I can go on and on but I hope I made my point. This country isn't a meritocracy. Just because people are wealthy doesn't make them business geniuses. It's ridiculous to hear them whine about people not wanting to work. It's ridiculous to see articles of them "teaching" people how to save money. It's annoying to hear these out of touch influencers say things like "why are you wasting your money on Starbucks? Why are you buying (insert somewhat "luxury" product here)?" Life is already a crap show, so don't shame people for wanting a bit of an escape or a moment to spoil themselves. Anyways, I'm done. Bye.
I agree with you but I do think there is a balance.... sure have a treat but also do save some money. Some people travel all the time and then complain about not being able to buy a house. I read somewhere that low income people spend 20% of their income on gambling on avg.... that's too much.
Influencer cries about making 4000$/hr... the federal minimum wage would have us making .181% of that an hour. And .375% of the influencer if you make 15/hr.
when i was 18 i had to go to work at 3am while sick and extremely sleep deprived because my boss said it was "too late to call out" and i would be written up lol. I had a schedule so inconsistent where i had days i would work until midnight and morning shifts that started at 4am in the same week. the conditions average working people experience are infinitely worse than having to answer some zoom calls.
I've been searching forever for a channel with similar humor to funkyfrogbait so I'm not watching their same episodes literally every day and now I finally found that channel ♡
"I get up at 6am to film myself and sit infront of a device and edit it." you just described absolutely everyone on tiktok, i START work at 6am, end at 4:30pm and make diesel storage tanks up to 4000 gallons . im a welder fabricator and i wake up with phalice harder than your job
I'm from Denmark, so maybe that informs t his take a little, but I just want to say... The American work culture is insane. I 100% am convinced that Mikayla was exaggerating about her schedule (you're your own boss - why wake up at 6 if you don't like it? And if you like it, why make it sound like a burden placed onto you, by... not you?) but the fact that so many Americans in this comment section is like "Oh even if she was telling the truth, that's a very easy job, I work 15 hour days sometimes!" Jesus. If I met someone with the schedule Mikayla claims to have, I would think that her job is at least little bit harder than the average person I know - and I come from a family that has always held undervalued and underpaid jobs. My moms a middle-school art teacher. My immigrant dad started and runs his own bakery, and does almost everything himself. My uncle works as a therapist for the criminally insane. All the women on my moms side are nurses, teachers, Social support workers.... And I'm still astonished by how much Americans work. I'm sorry, guys.
Oh god the poor nurses and doctors here, it’s so rare they get a full weekend off of work they call it a “golden weekend” because they work so much so frequently
5:50 omg I want her to try some of the grueling jobs: plumbing, electrician, carpentry....a nurse! These people are out of touch with reality. Teachers have low pay but these people get paid to talk.
Its fucking crazy that these people think they're struggling when they have more money at 21 than most of their generation will have in their entire lives. Adulthood is hard for you because you have to sell your supercar to keep paying for your LA Mansion? Damn bro, I'm so sorry for you. I thought it was tough working two jobs to cover rent and groceries, I never knew what influencers are going through. So sad.

8:34 man my girl Marie Antoinette deserves better 😢😢 She had a shockingly difficult life being married off as a child to an abusive a-hole yet she still went out of her way to help the people in any way she could while being constantly slandered and cut off from society . Like, the whole thing about her giant wardrobes and tons of shoes was because she only had access to money to pay for cloths and things for her kids so she would travel throughout France going to as many different shops as she could specifically trying to spend as much money as possible so it could circulate back into the economy. She was so worried about helping the working class that a political rival started the whole “cake” myth just to discredit her so she wouldn’t be a candidate for the next Queen. He was also responsible for tying up a shipment of food she had managed to purchase early on to be distributed in customs until it expired. And you’re out here comparing her to influencers??? No. Na ah. (Excellent video though, I just feel strongly for my girl)
@InvaderRym-tv8yw don’t get me wrong, Marie Antoinette lived a easier life than most other people at the time in the country, but she still experienced legitimate hardship. Two things can be true at once, she could be a victim and a beneficiary of a broken system. What was she supposed to do? She tried to leave, she was stopped. Multiple times. She was still abused; still placed in a position where she saw what was going wrong and was sabotaged in every attempt to make things even slightly better; she still died tragically young begging for her children’s lives. I understand why she was executed. They couldn’t risk her making a claim for power and reestablishing the old order. That’s why her kids were killed as well. It’s still horrific, even while it was seen as, and possibly was necessary.
@InvaderRym-tv8ywJust because a woman is white and rich doesn't mean we can't feel bad that she was married as a child, had to leave her family and country behind, was killed because she was unlucky enough to be married to the wrong guy at the wrong time and wrongfully accused to have r@ped her son by political opponents.
Bruh. Making a month and a half of my income in one hour actually like made me sad. I’ve never felt this much like I’m failing working my ass off at two jobs and not even making what some make in an hour in literal months. God I hate this world.
it’d be one thing if they were jus having a bad day and wanted to vent. That’s valid, everyone has tough days. But they always have to make it into like…they have the hardest life ever. Now it’s not valid lol if that Mikayla girl got on tiktok and was like “I had a rough day today, sometimes being an influencer is hard” and people started shitting in her I’d say people are overreacting. But she had to make it that her days are harder than everyone else’s.
i mean, yeah. it takes a special kind of person to be able to film, perform, edit, market, keep up with the newest trends and be entertaining as a influencer. i would say it's not that common set of skills. it's mentally draining job. but, it's also not THAT rare of a set of talents. there are also jobs that are more physically and mentally draining where people make way way WAY less money than some of these people. i dont want to undermine anyones hard work, but these people need to know, that their biggest skill has been to be at the right place at the right time. it is the thing with all famous people. you might be the most talented and hard working person in the world, but if you never get your lucky shot, be it through talent agencies or algorithm, you will never make it.
Honestly, i tried to hop on the at least "i wanna try to be famous" train, but it's for dilligent people who write, film, edit, caption etc. Im not dilligent people, but i can handle a classroom of tiny goblins.
And if you try to say "excuse me" or "I'm sorry" when brushing past them, but say it too softly, they get upset because "WHAT DID YOU SAY?!?!?" Like you really just said something terrible and awful, because that's what they would do. And if they actually do hear you being polite, they say "WHY ARE YOU TALKING TO ME?!?!? FREAK!!!" They will also unironically say things like "DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM?!?!?!" Yes, I have work in food service and retail in Los Angeles, how could you tell? LMAO (but secretly crying)
I’m sorry, $4k for an hour? I’m trying to find a place that will pay me $20 for an hour. I just, how entitled. I would kill 🔪 for a chance of that little work for that much cash.

That’s so real im considered broke and barely make enough within a week to keep up with bills and barely enough left to pay for groceries i used to be far worse off with not getting enough to eat properly and sometimes had to starve a couple of times because i just wasn’t making enough to keep a roof over my head and eat so i had to choose
This is why I want every job to pay the same and everyone to own the same, regardless of work
Poor people indeed are wack, how dare they smile, work at a pizza factory and have a band while being poor

mikayla is insufferable to watch. she’s everywhere i turn. side note, how is your hair so perfect 😭
Why would anyone watch her?
Everyone likes to clown on swamp monsters that think they're god's gift to the world.
Also girls that actually look up to her because they're also simultaneously ugly and somehow conceited as well.
I'm ashamed that she's from Boston. 😢
I habe never heard of her, maybe take a break from tiktok?
@@alyzu4755 Isn't her accent fake af ?
6:20 I really thought that the "in bed in the middle of the day" was gonna be an OF joke
You're literally the only person, who has told me, "Good job, finishing those finals".....😭Thankyou, I needed that😭❤
Our value system is so out of whack. Someone that tells bad jokes and talks into a camera is better compensated than the person feeding them. When actors, influencers, and athletes make exponentially more than teachers, doctors, and pilots our society is the only outcome.
It's what people are willing to pay for. Concert tickets are frequently way more expensive than a dentist visit.

That influencer complaining about BeReal pictures of people lying in bed - girl, normal people can't go on their phone at work and post pictures??? Of course normal peoples' BeReals are gonna be them lying in bed/watching tv/whatever
The stupidity!

4K is more than I bring home in a month post-tax....these people are oblivious.
I'm glad my dad told me about his experiences growing up poor because I feel grateful for what I have.
"I wake up at 6am every day", I'm at work by 6am. She's late by my standards.
It's so light on this side of the internet that the glare reflected off that fancy Play Button and blinded me!
"Every time an influencer offers advice, I feel years coming off of my life." ~Aesop Rock

"Go outside and touch some grass" no truer words have been spoken.
I don't need to watch the video to know that plenty of influencers are out of touch
6:05 had a legit heart attack at the zoom meeting noise thinking I'm fucking off at work and it's a damn Sunday 😅
“Marie Antoinette-coded”
Damn, that’s good.
@@greypug7769 I know! It's quite dystopian...
One reason is that here in Europe, we get paid living wages for one job with regular hours. We don't have to work 15 hour days just to make ends meet.
A long ass period of horrible government leaders if people are unhappy they shouldnt cry at influenzas they should think tripple about what they vote
Those jobs are undervalued? ,wow
Simple question for influencers: "Other than you losing money, what would happen if you went on strike? Who would care about that?"

The brioche thing wasn't from a rival though. It was coined when Marie was nine years and hadn't been to France yet.

it’d be one thing if they were jus having a bad day and wanted to vent.
6:53 do NOT tell her different timezones exist
The. “CHOOSE YOUR CHARACTER!!” Music is sending me.
i mean, yeah. it takes a special kind of person to be able to film, perform, edit, market, keep up with the newest trends and be entertaining as a influencer. i would say it's not that common set of skills. it's mentally draining job. but, it's also not THAT rare of a set of talents. there are also jobs that are more physically and mentally draining where people make way way WAY less money than some of these people. i dont want to undermine anyones hard work, but these people need to know, that their biggest skill has been to be at the right place at the right time. it is the thing with all famous people. you might be the most talented and hard working person in the world, but if you never get your lucky shot, be it through talent agencies or algorithm, you will never make it.

These are the customers who walk rudely, and bump into people without even saying sorry while looking constipated at the retail store.
FREAK!!!"
They will also unironically say things like "DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM?!?!?!"
Yes, I have work in food service and retail in Los Angeles, how could you tell? LMAO (but secretly crying)
