You gotta go to Da Nang City for the best Vietnamese food
For anyone that is watching this skip Vietnam it’s completely overrated waste of money waste of time TH-camrs will never show you the dirty garbage and broken glass with syringes all over the beaches the city smells like urine and feces with garbage everywhere the people are two-faced especially the women and girls. Save your money save your time go to Thailand Singapore Cambodia Indonesia 100 times better than Vietnam.
Wow. Vietnam is beautiful. Such a sad waste with the war...
Mistake #9 Underestimating how many tourists there are at popular places. And because of that, so many touts in your face.
Never understand why people fly across the world to say you can buy a coffee for 50 cents and a smoothie for a dollar. Great reason for moving to a third world country man.
The dish you oredered in Ha Noi was stir fry beef stomach (sách bò xào)! Quite unlucky choice for a foreigner. But I like your strategy tho!
Thanks for clearing that up haha. I knew it was some organ or intestine
You made my day man :-)
Is Vietnam still communist?
Mistake # 8 the air quality many times of the year...If you like breathing iVietnam may not be for you
Breathing is overrated. I have stopped breathing for years ago. Still alive............Ok i grew gills and live in a huge aquarium now. Maybe should have mentioned that. =)
Mistake #7 the rain in Da Nang for months on end in the winter
That paper burning thing every house hold is doing is totally nuts. Smoke is everywhere.
Ya not great but a tradition I don't think will go away any time soon
Bro please can you screenshot the app that we can use to take the passport picture because when I went to App Store I saw a lot of apps.
download any free one or just take a selfie with your phone
Dude I just arrived in Da Nang this morning. What a beautiful day it was. Was able to take in the beach. Then walked to city center for a great dinner at a great price. Hoping to run into you man. I’m staying at the SilaNa hotel and apartments. 😎
Awesome bro how long do you stay for?
I appreciate the info Travis I pray that everything is well dawg be safe🙏🏾💪🏾
It's a life goal now to spend close-to 3-months in Da Nang... I am seeking a place to build a part of my life internationally and Da Nang sure looks like it could be that place!
Definitely man, let me know if I can help with anything

How close is Vietnamese food in the U.S. to the way it is in Vietnam? Is it as bastardized as American Chinese food or closer to the real deal? Great last point, too. I’m half-Korean and my wife and friends just always get Bibimbob or Korean BBQ despite there being a dozen other simple dishes they would like if they just tried. 😂
Love Vietnam, but the constant honking horns drives me crazy.
Thanks great vid. This is how I would prefer to do it too. Integrating with the locals .
Cheers buddy appreciate the tip
Thanks Travis. Love good food tips like these. Please update your map with places to eat outside of My An also, like this one.
Haha that sound of the dollar is the exact same sound that you hear in roller coaster tycoon 😳😳😳😳
Awesome video, stunning shots. It looks so beautiful there!
i have been 6 months in danang and imo it is one of the best cities in ASEA My pros: - weather is great outside of rain season - food is cheap and amazing - the area around danang and danang itself are beautiful: good beaches, nice coastal hills, beautiful river and bridges - it is very easy to move around in scooter and the city traffic is much better than in Hanoi or Saigon - some very centric neighborhoods are very quiet, and it is quite easy to find cheap new rent (many new construction projects happening) Cons: - SMOKE. A bunch of factors will result in you breathing shit continuously. Men smoke like someone is gunning their heads, so if you go to any cafe you will likely smoke their cigarette. People burn shit in the street all the time, you will smell plastic, burn paper and other shit. Sometimes smoke pollution will hit the city and you will breathe even more shit - Rain season: prepare to not even see the sun for like 2 months or more (nov and dec)
We are in Thailand on a study visa, which is fairly easy to obtain. How can we get a long-term visa for Vietnam? Thanks
Vietnam does not need everybody else’s rejects to come here this is not a place to stay only for holiday come in have fun get the hell out stop messing up local economy by staying longer than you’re supposed to. Look what it did to some Mexican cities and don’t even try to say anything else and deny is the truth selfish of everyone to think they can stay.
man I hope I can experience that life one day soon....
how much are cigarettes there ? curious
less than $1
My dad was stationed there in 1968.
Went to Vietnam in winter and the weather in Hanói and Hoi an was fantastic
Thanks for the helpful tips! I'm traveling to Vietnam in a few months, and they will definitely come in handy.
Omg I was just talking about those nfl commercials! I’m a rugby fan that lives in the US and I would love to get into football. But man do they make it impossible with all those commercials 😢. Drives me nuts.
Thanks man. This was very helpful. I am in Da Nang for a while. I will go check out Son Tra tomorrow. Can I go there by Gfab bike?
yeah i’d rather be cold lol fuck jungle temps and humidity. garbage weather
Travis, please tell your friends that Social Security is not "free money from the Government". All US citizen's pay into a forced retitement plan when they pay FICA TAX every paycheck. In American citizens are duped into an "earn and spend cycle" that's difficult to break free from. Social Security is like mom or dad making you save a little for a rainny day. (this was the friendliest explanation of SSI I could come up with...)
America is now in what has been termed "end stage Capitalism". To all Americans: remember that few democracies ever lasted more than 200 years.....
Xahn is also a go-to for taxis generally in most tourist places in Vietnam. They're generally abit cheaper than Grab, and often much nicer comfortable cars. I use Xahn, if not available I use Grab as a 2nd option.
Thanks for all the help on this video. You made the explanation on some of these sections very clear. My wife and I filled out the form on 2/5/25 so we hope to get it next week! I will try to remember to update yall in the comments. Wish us luck!
Hi, 2 questions: 1. The application field puts middle before first name. If you put it in that order, will it still be ok? 2. If I get a visa before travel plans: For example if I know i will be visiting for about a month during summer but no concrete plans/ticket yet, do I put both the "Grant e-visa valid from" and "Intended date of entry" fields something like June 1 and end 90 days later?
Put First then Middle name. For 2nd question yes just choose any 90 day period and travel within that period
I cannot say enough good things about Phin Cu! I’m hooked big time.
I agree, great spot. I haven't been in a while its a bit far from my house now
Travis when you pay for short term rental, what the usual way to pay? Will they take credit card?
Cash or bank transfer
Damn she didn't even bother to correct your pronunciation - she ain't the one bro
Travis - fantastic summary of TET. Appreciate your insights on the Lunar Holiday in Vietnam and the traditions we witnessed throughout DaNang. Hope you had a great celebration with Family and Friends. Cheers...Doug and Beverly
Spent a little bit of Tết in Kon Tum, then Da Nang. It was great!
Does your photo have to be passport quality with no shadows?
Just selfie with your phone and white wall
Hope you enjoy our holiday!
Happy Lunar New Year ! Would love to experience Tet in Vietnam some day ❤
I spent my first Tet holiday in Nha Trang this year and I have to say that it was very hard to cope with the amount of traffic, noise and masses of people moving around. The restaurants were overloaded and it was total chaos. We ended up several times to wait for ages and got the wrong food. Higher prices everywhere, scooters driving on sidewalks, blasting music from every corner since 6 am. It was brutal. Now, that the holiday is over the city looks and feels like heaven. If you LOVE noisy celebrations you will love it, but if you don't, just make sure you are not in a major holiday destination like Nha Trang
Yeah we were there too but we couldn't keep up so we went back to the hotel and slept 🤦 I loved Nha Trang but I'm happy to hear I didn't miss much
Very informative, thanks again Travis!
My pleasure!
For some reason, the fast food chains in southeast asia slap way more than here in Australia. For example, the Burger King in Thailand was absolutely delicious and fresh, and the guy who made it clearly had attention to detail. Whereas our fast food here is just shit.
I agree, I had McDonalds in Thailand once and was blown away
