Just got back from Da Nang 2 weeks ago, one of the most safest citys ive been to, amazing people, food and country . They say you can do Da NAng in 3 days, TBH you are just scraping the surface being in that city for 2 weeks, its all about the food, people and culture ❤embrace it.
I went to 8 cities in 16 days so stupid of me, couldn't really soak it in. you need at least 4 days in each city to enjoy it and embrace the local specialty dishes
Depends on what you want to achieve in the city you visit. I'm here for 2 weeks and If you see all the main spots, everything else is pretty much the same (streets, foods, etc) you get used to that amazing-looking beach too. Living and being on vacation is a whole different thing.
I’m coming from the U.S. in two weeks. Not having completed my bachelor’s degree, is there still potential to get a teaching or assistant teaching job? I’m not concerned much with the wages. I would just love to do it and also potentially be able to get a work visa.
Top stuff! I just signed up on myskool and forwarded the link to my daughter who just landed in Vietnam a few days ago. Not her first visit, but likely spending 5 weeks in country.
Great video! Any information is helpful. Keep them coming! I’ve been neck deep studying Bangkok and Siem Reap but since finding your channel am now turning my focus towards March 2025 and Da Nang. Already got my visa approved for 90 days and pretty excited.
Join my travel group, we answer a lot of questions in there for people considering DN long term. Hope to see you in there. www.skool.com/travel-vietnam-6703/about
G'day Travis, I wrote a comment & for some reason TH-cam took it down they have it in for me don't know why but thank you TH-cam for being unreasonable in your method. Great video thoroughly enjoyed it thank you for sharing. Hope to see you in Australia 🇦🇺 Cheers Louis Kats 👍
Thank you. Just finished packing. :) Ya, I made that mistake on the dates on my visa. :( It worked out fine though. I won't be playing Rugby. Rain or shine, my trip will be divine. :) Thanks for saying it took you two years to get acclimated. Have a good weekend.
Gday from Australia mate biggest thing that worries me is here in Australia we have food safety standards so retailers & food vendors can't sell you food that is going to make you sick ive watched a few of your videos & have noticed that there seems to be none of these in place there which makes me a bit weary of eating anything at all.?? Would still live to come for a holiday but that's the biggest issue about visiting for a holiday hope you can answer my question cheers love ya content.
Doing great Travis. You should have a huge channel soon. I love Skool and am in there. Thanks for being the ethical person you are. And as you know your style helps me to make better videos here in Myanmar. I'm putting together a video for Teachers Life here and would you belive a video on Cricket in Myanmar as the Indian Community here plays it. Looking forward to retiring next year and like you trying to make a go of this TH-cam thing.
Hey I would love to have you in the travel group. I and others will like to here about any good spots you've found in 3 months. www.skool.com/travel-vietnam-6703/about
Hey Travis, that was an awesome video! As someone who’s been going to Vietnam for work for 6 years, i appreciate your perspective. Your positive energy is infectious! It’s so cool that you’re diving into TH-cam and trying to make it work. We’re all behind you on this journey. Now that I know you’re trying to make this a full-time gig, I’d like the opportunity to support you, whether it’s through Patreon or Buy Me A Coffee, or something else. I’m sure there’s other people who would be willing to support this effort too. Let us know. Keep up the great work!
This was great Travis!! I like the Q & A format. Is there a website or something where I can find more info on the health care you mention for living in Vietnam? My partner and I are in our 50's in case there is an age cap. Cảm ơn!
How long will you stay? I have some good choices for travel insurance for anything up to about 6 months. For long term Vietnamese insurance you can check out Bao Long. Age caps will be in the mid 60s if anything.
Aloha, another great video. Would you suggest travelers using Wise Travel money card. Transferring USD to dong? Other than carrying so much cash around ?
Credit card is only used for modern shopping and apps, you can use any credit card to withdraw money from ATM coz most of the street vendors takes cash or local bank transfer only, no need to withdraw big amount at once
WISE is a great option for most countries, but a WISE card from America doesn't work in Vietnam due to some regulations. Revolut is the same idea and works better for American. Or just standard Visa card, like the other fella said you can pull money from ATM with little or no fee and use that.
@@TravisTravelsVN Well that is one thing about Vietnam you will eventually find someone that will stretch the rules. I tried a few and ended up waiting until I got my TRC.
When you were in Hanoi, did you smoke pipe tobacco, what did it taste like, did you feel your soul soar? I'm just kidding...that's the difference between North and South Vietnam.
How the (insert profanity here) are you nearly 40 Travis, you look early 20's mate haha thats wild. Completely unrelated I know you've played footy there for a while and they do match weekends/festivals around SEA countries, how many other countries would you regularly go to for rugby in the region and does that same model happen for other expat sports like cricket, pickle ball, or golf?
Ya mate we usually play in Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Phnom Penh once a year. And each city in Vietnam usually hosts a weekend at least once of twice a year. Pretty much same idea with the other sports as well there's always tournaments here and there around SE asia
Your comment about crime just isn’t accurate man. Violent crime is very rare, but non-violent crimes (eg. Theft) are common. When I was in Hanoi there were a bunch of people getting stuff stolen from their apartments, especially around tet. There’s a reason everyone has bars on their windows and barbed wire/broken glass on patio walls.
I wish your TH-cam channel would grow so you could become full-time. I think you should also start teaching English. You have a bachelor's degree, which I believe is enough. I'm sure you can easily make $1,000 to $1,500 with part-time teaching.
Ya man I have a Masters Degree so teaching is always an option. But to be successful on YT it really requires a lot of time. I put more hours into this than any other job I've had in my life. No complaints here though I'm enjoying the process
Why do white Americans leave their beautiful first world country for a third world country like Vietnam? I always question expat motives living in Vietnam. Your answer, Travis? Or are you hiding something.
You actually feel more freedom and less fake interactions here, not a single racism to any race, things are also overpriced in the US. The beach, the sun, the vibe, the people, the sense of community... all are great here
Wow that has to be the most ignorant and downright stupid of a comment one can make, you def sound like you live in a bubble or under a rock, do humanity a favor and go get lost. You got my vote for Darwin award
@@Thanosss123a If that's the case, then isn't the root problem cultural? If American culture is rotten, why export it to a beautiful country like Vietnam? The more expats there is in Vietnam, the more cultural baggage they bring, amongst of them woke culture, feminism and such.

For you as an expat living in Vietnam more than 6 years to say Vietnam is amazing, is quite interesting, and it's something for many to think about.

😍😍😍
Do you think the safe boxes in the hotels are safe?
Yes hotels are very safe
Do they tax foreign income?
Why not live in Saigon?
Too much traffic and pollution, da Nang much better quality of life ( and cheaper)
Nice video, just a quick correction, you cannot open a bank account on a tourist visa.
There are only a few handful of banks that will allow it. I have an account on a tourist visa.

Is there any way to get visa on arrival in Vietnam?
Only E visas for now
