G'day Travis, Hope Loan & you are well extremely busy with travel and work. Just catching up on your videos. Great advise as per usual greatly appreciated. Cheers Louis Kats & Kellie K from Melbourne, Australia 🇦🇺 👍
What do you think about getting an international plan through your cell phone carrier? I have t-mobile and they offered it to me. How does the cell service from that compare to the SIM cards ?
omg i just got back from Vietnam, I wish this was out. My plan was not to pack suncream, because you would think it would be everywhere and cheaper. Oh boy, was I wrong, it took me a few places but I finally found it, mostly at the pharmacy, I sometimes picked some up at random stores but you never know if it's counterfit and not working. It was also same price if not more than in America which I was surprised. Then you also have to be careful because you don't want to get the suncream that bleaches your skin, or makes it more white! All in all, that is deffenetly sometime I will be bring with me next time. My face was a tomato for a few days. Viet people just cover up, they don't spend money on suncream, they just cover up like its winter out. I was shocked in Siagon 95 degrees and they are wearing hoodies and sweatpants, what the hell. It looks like it’s some apocalyptic futuristic movie when global warming is running away and no one can go out in the sun.
I don’t have e sim option on my phone. Is there any way to get a physical sim without being scammed? I'm trying to google how to get a sim in Vietnam and all results are for tourist sim. How do I get regular Sim?
you need to go to a Viettel shop in town when you arrive. They will sort you out. Join my travel group I have all the info in there www.skool.com/travel-vietnam/about
WISE is really popular. Also bring some cash to exchange at local gold shops. I've got a travel group with lots of information. www.skool.com/travel-vietnam/about
Thanks a lots . But Honestly I have applied for evisa the day before yesterday but unfortunately I wrote no in the part of insurance option. That’s why i am wondering now if I get rejected at first try..it would not be a good started at all.
Are you in the Skool group yet? You can send me a picture in there I can look at it. Most of the 3rd party websites will still get you a legit visa, they just charge you extra to go to the government website and do the application for you. Some of them will give you a scam visa
Planning on visiting Vietnam mid / late January 2025 from the UK with no set departure date yet, but no more than 90 days .. new passport too !! Is it wise to get a e-visa ? Thanks for the info
have to have a visa unless you will stay less than 45 days. I've got a travel group should help with everything about your trip. Check it out when you're ready to start planning. www.skool.com/travel-vietnam/about
So most modern hotels won't have power outlets that fit the usual 2 prong plug from USA for phones or computers for visitors? I really just need to be able to charge my phone.
I'd say the most common is the 2 round prongs, not 2 flat prongs. Sometimes the outlet will accept both. I have to have an adapter for my US laptop. It's not guaranteed thats why I recommend picking up an adaptor for a few bucks
Should not be wearing sandals if you're doing a lot of walking. Dirty, no support, completely uncomfortable. Unless your going to a beach or pool. you should never wear sandals period.
I watched your video on the evisa process. Mine was accepted on the first try. Trip is booked for January. Da Nang here I come!

God, please no. There's too many bald western "digital nomads" wandering around Da Nang aimlessly all hours of the day.

What do you think about getting an international plan through your cell phone carrier? I have t-mobile and they offered it to me. How does the cell service from that compare to the SIM cards ?
Cell service is perfect here. Esim or local sim card if you stay long term will be way cheaper than any international plan
You are such a gem and truly appreciate you Travis!!!

Currency converter Plus
Is bagged ice in Vietnam safe for consumption ? I like to bring my camel back and fill it with ice then add water for cold water all day
Yes, everywhere will always use commercial ice that is safe to use
How is Hanoi and Ha Long Bay now since Typhoon Yagi? Also Hoi An after other recent typhoons?
Everything pretty much back to normal already. Heavy rain in Hoi An now, but this is typical for this time of year
@@TravisTravelsVN Thank you for this update!

Nice video thanks. Do you know if any VPNs are blocked in Vietnam?
No VPNs are used, and necessary sometimes
Thanks a lots . But Honestly I have applied for evisa the day before yesterday but unfortunately I wrote no in the part of insurance option. That’s why i am wondering now if I get rejected at first try..it would not be a good started at all.
They will likely ask you for updated information after 3 days, then you will have to wait 3 more days. But you won't need to pay again.
Hello mate. What will be the weather like in May-June? Thank you.
Really good, a little bit hot if you're not used to Vietnam heat
Nice video

Hello, is it possible to get unlimited data with the eSIM? I haven't seen the option there
Up to 20gb but that should be way more than enough

I agree James, I try to go barefoot whenever possible 👍
