Shooting spring piston rifles is an art and a skill that I love.
If you could not tell, I have a passion for spring piston air rifles.
learning how they need to be held, what pellet to use, how much to hold over or under and guessing the wind all plays a big part of enjoying this fabulous sport.
I'm also into natural strength training for the genetically average strength trainer, and Bible related topics.
I grew up shooting the Daisy 880, progressed further into 22 rimfires and was a rifle instructor in the United States Marine Corps.
Strength training has mostly been done through experimentation and reading. Bible background is based on that man is lost in their sins and is in desperate need of salvation through our savior Jesus Christ.

Big box store shopping for airguns in the USA. I do not personally recommend any product in this video and it is going to be up to the viewer to decide if these are good for them or not. I enjoy both springers and pcp but pumping sucks for a pcp . I do own two pumps and i only use them on my two condor ss because them guns donot have regulators and only have a few orings. For my other pcp i have a compressor with carbon fiber omega tank .
You do need a cheap pump that uses your car battery to fill it. I have a hand pump in case of emergency. I learned early that hand pumps aren’t your best friend. Hatsan is a good starter company for pcp adventures, enjoy the ride.
Id tune the gun down to around 920 or 890 best velocity
If you want a compressor get a Yong heng I’ve had mine for about 6 months don’t get a vevor they are dookie
I love my pcp airguns best thing I’ve ever bought! Enjoy yours!
I knew him and Herky
Notos is the best pcp to try for your first and hand pumping....once filled i get 24 shots (two 12rd mags) at a regulated 20fpe then it takes 36 pumps to fill back up. Of course that Hatsan is a more powerful, but that's a lot of pumping to try out pcp.
Hand pumping dose not look fun wow is it powerful I'll stick with my 14fpe 🎉 Happy holidays to you and your family
I started out with a 500cc 9mm big bore and a hand pump, I now have 4 compressors, and a hand pump for backup ? LOL
@@TLFRepair-Shop Nice! 🙂👍
Going too fast, try heavier pellets for better accuracy.
@@adamreisman9187 Thank you Adam! I will give it a go!😃👍🎯
Would recommend getting a cheap Chinese electric pump and a small bottle, my unregulated pcp shoots best between 180-90 bar. Good luck, it’s new to you and a bit of a learning curve. Great channel 👍🏻
@@ianbath4776 Thank you Ian!🤠👍 And thank you for the tips!👍🎯

@@NoelCantun Thanks for checking out my video Noel!🤠👍 I highly recommend using a pump for cardiovascular fitness, lol.💪😆👍 Break barrel air rifles reign supreme when it comes to simplicity of use! 🤠👍
Tip of the day, always have the hw99 in the trunk of your car….🚗
@@martinlye7111 Agree!🤠👍 Even an HW95 Luxus 22 FAC, well lubricated inside of a hard case!
Its a Lothar Walter barell, it has a 1:17 twist it likes slugs that go fast.
@@borislavradonjic660 Sounds good! Thank you!🤠👍
Always elevate your rifle above pump or compressor level, put a box or something under, water will get into cylinder and thats not good.
@@borislavradonjic660 Thank you so much for this tip!🤠👍
I wouldn't reduce the hammer spring move up to a heavier pellet. My Hatsan Flash is putting out 40.63 ft lbs using H&N Baracuda 21.14 grn pellets and groups at 30 yds are dime size. The Crosman Hollow points are only 14.3 grn and to light for that power level. I use them in my Beeman R9 which they work well in.
@@waynealvens4748 Thank you for the tip Wayne, 🙂 and thank you for checking out my video!🤠👍
Trust me if your hand pump is a stage 3 spend the extra few bucks and buy a stage 4 and that will cut your pumping in half.

@@edwardmiles3921 Thank you Edward and thank you for checking out my video!🙂👍
Nice video congrats on the new pcp. Can I offer one thing that I wish someone would have told me when I bought my first pcp. Those hand pumps put water in your air tank. A moisture filter will help you preserve the life of your air rifle. I have to send in my pcp for a leak because I didn't use a moisture filter.
@@ryansumners3153 Thank you Ryan for the tip! 🙂👍 My pump has a moisture filter, but I have no idea when to change it.
@@springpistonriflefeverlone9611 the filters that I've seen online say they change colors when it's time to change not sure it yours does. They also say you can put the crystals in the oven and remove the moisture to re use the moisture crystals.
I started with a hand pump and it wasn't fun to stop after 12-20 shots to refill them so I got used a ShoeBox compressor to fill a big carbon fiber tank tank that was a fire department surplus along with a quality gauge and hose. Still dang expensive to go even that route. Messing with the compressor and tank is why I just stopped shooting my PCP's. That and dealing with keeping moisture out of my tank. Earlier this year I started looking at these little portable compressors that run off either 110 or a car battery for 70-120 dollars. I was going to keep it simple and just get a small one but talked myself into a large portable that can fill small bottles and I might even top off my big tank with a little at a time. I haven't even took the compressor out of the box yet, but need to get it out and do some video's of it and my PCP's. I still have a BSA R10 and my Benjamin Discovery. I had a .25 caliber AirForce Escape that was like a .22 long rifle in power. Too much power for shooting at the field I use really. It was the first air rifle I had that would zip through a 2x4 and left a huge dent in my heavy steel target trap rated for .22 LR.
@@charlesoutdoors2424 Thanks for your comments Charles!🙂👍 I totally agree, carrying all this extra gear for a PCP is a pain in the butt. I figured it would be fun and a change of pace.
@@springpistonriflefeverlone9611 I'm glad to see you got into PCP. They are fun to shoot and a whole new learning experience to operate, tune and maintain. I really want an accurate, Affordable, semi-auto PCP as that's something I can't get other than CO2 which are underpowered and expensive to shoot. Been looking toward Hatsan for that if I do get on next year.
Luckily you didn't forget the word "PCP" in the title of your video.🤔
@@j.verfaillie5742 Multiple meanings, lol.🙂👍
@springpistonriflefeverlone9611 Sorry, I also unconsciously get the character trait of a "dirty old man" BUT I CAN keep my hands to myself (The Three Degrees 1974). Comment on your video: if pumping becomes more difficult, bend the knees a little more and perhaps test the Hatsan with 18g pellets.
@@j.verfaillie5742 I will try some JSB, Air Arms and Apolo pellets. Ps, many sayings fly over my head. I remember back in the 80's, I think that PCP was a drug that I heard about in the movies.😆👍
Nice honest review and tells me why i would never switch to PCP, what a complete load of flaffing around. I'll stick to spring/break like i have done since the 70's as a lad here in the UK. Cheers

Have one PCP. Enjoy the heck out of it, but as far as taking it afield I’d be taking a pumper or my Springer. Don’t wish to carry a pump or an air tank with me. But I do enjoy using mine if I’m close to my truck or at home. Good review, I’m with you those air tanks are out of my budget, but would be a good investment, thanks 🙏
Great video thanks 👍

I started with a hatsan break barrel . Then went to a .177 flash . Since then I upgraded to a couple FX pcps and fell in love with the accuracy of my new rifles . I will never get rid of my first ones but there is no comparison . It's like comparing a chevet to a porch or Lamborghini .
@@georgedeedsnotwords2162 Thank you for your great comments!🙂👍
I love my springers! So many good ones out there. You got a heck of a deal on that rifle! PS: How big is a quarter? What do you do if you don't have one? Don't you have a ruler?
@@donpeer4477 I just reached for a tape measure and smacked my elbow on my desk ouch lol.😆 A quarter is 15/16 of an inch. I'm not sure how much that is in centimeters.
@@springpistonriflefeverlone9611 As you probably know, this hobby of ours is a worldwide phenomenon. I follow many shooters in England, Wales, South Africa, etc and although they probably don't know the size of our coinage, I can easily convert their mm to inches. Pretty sure it works the other way around, also. ;) As regards your struggles pumping up a PCP - be glad that your health allows you to do that. (mine has gone downhill recently). Shortly after getting a PCP rifle, I found a used tank online for cheap and told the seller that I'd buy it IF, and only if, it passed testing at a dive shop. I offered to pay for the examination, pressure testing, and air filling unless it failed. Then it was on them. Worked out well for me, so you might try that.
Fire station have 4500 psi bottles you can get cheap, walmart have pumps for 350. Scuba shop here wont refill those bottles because theyre not scuba certified. Exact same bottles certified 600 or more guys get for 50-100 bucks. Makes life easier and wasnt something i learned until after spending way more than i needed too.
@@tbenedict6335 Thank you for the tip!🙂👍
I always think of a pcp as a power tool it's efficient and makes some jobs easier, but requires far less craft than a hand tool to use, a springer is far less forgiving of poor technique or consistency which forces you to be on your game which is no bad thing, they're so much more satisfying to shoot ..God bless 👍👍
@@steve4697 Thank you Steve! God bless you too!🙂👍
You disappoint me master 😁 Seriously though I hope this works out for you. It was definitely a good deal. Don’t know much about the Flash or any Hatson pcp but what I do know when it comes to pcps in general when using a pump is to bend ur knees w/ur body bent over the pump when pushing down. It will make pumping alot easier Hope this helps and GOD BLESS

Did you pump it up from empty?
@@RaoulDuke333 Thank you for checking out my video!🤠👍 It came with air, but the air leaked really low. I also forgot to mention in the video that the fill probe had a gouge on the o-ring, which made it so I pumped the rifle 200 times with nothing happening, lol.
I've heard you can't pump from empty with a hand pump , mine came with air also ,I'm just curious if it is possible to pump from empty, merry Christmas to you
@@RaoulDuke333 Merry Christmas to you also! ✝️🎄🙂👍 I have watched several TH-cam videos with someone pumping up a PCP from 0.
I'll have to look them up , I only started collecting air rifles a year ago and when I was doing my research on what to buy your channel had a big influence, I now have a hw95k, hw97k and a kral NP02. I would like a hw30 , hw99 and hw100 in the future but funds will dictate when . In the video your were saying you would prefer a springer in a survival situation. I agree but if you have the option of both pcp and springer I'd go with pcp as with zero recoil it's easier to get headshots ie more humane kills , springers are way more fun tho .
I like my pcp but i like my Weihrauch springers more for all the same reasons you mentioned. God Bless you and have a great day.

@@WalnutandSteel No doubt about that!💪😃👍 I can't imagine testing a handful of different pellets, lol. I have noticed that the rifle needs a lot more pumps in cold weather.🥶👍
Hi, Unfortunately IMO, the only way to really enjoy PCPs is to have a compressor. I started down same road as you are now a couple years ago, lucky for me my budget is a bit high enough to get a compressor so I did and that is a game changer. I also after a period of time bought a carbon fiber bottle, only to find out my compressor would not fill it and i ruined my compressor trying to fill that bottle. It takes a lot higher out put compressor to fill tanks or you have to take the tank to a scuba or paint ball place to get filled, which I had neither close, so down one more rabbit hole, and I bought a daystate compressor that would fill the tanks. So moral of story to really get into PCPs it can be expensive, but once you have this stuff then your all set. You certainly are starting off the right way, buying a budget rifle to test the waters, certainly don’t get discouraged. I might have suggested I different rifle that is more hand pump friendly, an Umarex Notos is a great rifle, and way more hand pump friendly, but they are $275.00 ish. I do have several springers and PCPs and I enjoy them both, but you are correct with a springer, all you need is your rifle and a hand full of pellets and you good to go. PCPs however to take you to next level for power , accuracy at longer ranges, and multi shot capabilities especially with a couple extra mags, so you can shoot 30-40 times in the time I will take you to make 10 shots with your springers, so they both have advantages and disadvantages. To me the only downside of PCPs is the cost to get into, compressor, tank, etc. I did just subscribe to your channel, good luck with your shooting.
@@kurtthomas4746 Thank you Kurt! I highly appreciate your subscription and all of your very knowledgeable tips!🤠👍
Your welcome, not sure exactly how knowledgeable, but I have made a few mistakes along my air rifle journey/ hobby. If you saw my rifle room, you would say that guy has fallen off his rocker. Hw100 is ace for sure low power but very classy
Nice entry level pcp.Try heavier pellets.Maybe h&n baracuda match 21.14 grains is better choice for the power of this pcp.I was going to buy it last year but i ended up with gamo chacal (urban in usa).Pcps are definetely more accurate than springers especially at distances up to 30 meters
