Open Source Background Noise Suppression Installation Guide for Windows 10, NO NVIDIA!
background tune sounds like the Scatman song... (from4:46 onwards)
The traces are very narrow on the power supply board I'm fixing - continunity check is essential to make sure that any solder hasn't bridged the gap between traces. I've managed to do it, but a very rough repair - I've scrapped off the green to reveal copper about 2 inches from the capacitor hole and put a new capacitor in and used most of it's length on the positive side to stretch over to the copper and soldered it. Done a similar job with another capacitor. Probably not safe with all that bare metal showing but I'll order some solder mask and cover it up at some point. Loved your video thanks!
Watched your video and went directly to buy a NB F80 for my eakins microscope. For my surprise this went better than expected, I hooked up the microscope stand directly to the arm plate with the provided clamping screw. Let me tell you it works great. And the working área is now more than 50 cm Wide and long. Thanks.
omg that is the longest trace rep ive ever seen lmao thank god you not paid by the hour.what wire was thaT bit thick
Y'know, I couldn't remember this video so just saw what I did and you're right lmfao. I'm a lot better at this stuff than I was back when I made this to be fair. I made this back when I was a wee baby repair bloke. Anyway, the wire is just some enamelled copper wire. Be damned if I can remember the gauge of it though because I did this over 3 years ago.
i was teezing i mess up all the time so daily lol
If I have a board damaged by a poor usb c port replacement attempt is an apu swap like this to a brand new board viable to save game data? I am a complete beginner... (or maybe this video was more of a cautionary tale?)
It is possible but don't do it like this video. Ideally you'd need a hot air nozzle that encompasses the entire APU and a board pre-heater under the switch. You'd need to pull the APU, the cartridge reader IC and the eMMC module and move those to the new switch. If all you want is the save data, you can plug the eMMC module into a device called "mmcblkNX" and read the USER partition, as that's where the save data is. You can just copy that over to a working switch NAND module using the same adapter. You'll need the hacdiskmount software on the PC. It's fairly straightforward to do.
@@NewRetroRepair Thanks very much for the detailed response, I'm on a switch lite so unfortunately will have to go with the first option!
@@elliottraymond3274 You can still do what I suggested. Just take the emmc module off the lite and solder it onto a regular switch emmc board. It'll be easier than doing an APU swap. Also, if you're a beginner, I strongly, strongly recommend you don't do this.
@@NewRetroRepair Ah nice idea, think I will buy two new lite mainboards to practice with. I need to learn BGA anyway to repair a TV with emmc problem as well so it's worth it for the experience. And thanks again for the help, it's nice to come across people willing to share their expertise. Do you happen to have a paypal or patreon for donations?
Thank you for the helpful content! Liked and subscribed-keep up the great work!
Mec je t’aime ça a totalement réparé ma switch
😂
I never put that screw that goes from the bottom to the psu......pai. in the ass lol
Hey! Ive got a question regarding the ACHI IR6500 or in general a rework machine with a top heater fan. Is the fan supposed to run during the desoldering process?
@@Merchb0yy Nope. It's meant for rapidly cooling the heating element once a heating cycle is completed.
@@NewRetroRepairalright thank you, haven't read that anywhere in the manual!
@@Merchb0yy if you've got a new IR6500, be very careful. They're dangerous and potentially lethal out of the factory. Mine actually caught fire! There's a plastic terminal block under the heating elements. That block caught fire on my unit. I swapped it out for ceramic terminal blocks. I also swapped out the plastic cables that connect to the terminal block for fibre glass heat resistant wires instead. It's also not properly earthed either and the IEC connector (power cord connector) is barely able to handle the current the unit demands. The metal panels are coated in thick paint or anodized which doesn't allow sufficient electrical connection for the earthing between the different metal panels. The wires in the unit are barely rated to the current they're expected to carry. Make sure if you're in a 220-240V area you uprate the wires to at least 16 AWG.
@@NewRetroRepairThank you very much for the tips, I will do that 👌😁
@@NewRetroRepairI also want to remove the tempered glass above the bottom heater. I don't know it's impractical in every way. Machine heats up too fast and the PCB gets less heat 🤦
Ive never heard so much complaints in my life put that ribbon cable IN THERE! 😂
@@Brandon1213 I can complain more than any other human on earth when it comes to those bloody ribbon cables 😂 Plugging them in wears the carbon traces off. It's infuriating. Great consoles otherwise though
This is nice but RTX Voice is still better.
Cool video, thanks for the recommendation! I bought the same holder and made my own solution with lasercut from mdf. It works well so far, but my monitor holder is not stable enough and there is always a slight wobble. It is therefore only of limited use to me and I have to look for another solution.
Great idea....does anyone know the official Eakins store to order from Eakins Microscope Store or Eakins Store... Thanks
@@dantheman3k I've ordered from "Eakins Microscope Store" a few times. As far as I know they're the "official" one.
@@NewRetroRepair thank you
Can you make my ps3
Where are these test points on different board models?!?
Finally i can stream without big boi reddit mod snoring behind me
That's just SOP for Reddit mods.
@@NewRetroRepair i dont know what your mean, but im talking about my brother
Thats very good
Awesome thanks!!
I found a game gear just thrown away and it's pretty much 10 times worse than this one
At least I found it in one piece the problem is that it's too dirty indeed it's dirtier than anything you could think of
Also, can you tell us which resistors you changed (and new values). Thanks
Great work. Did you manage to fix it ? Mine is coming up with :- ofst[ 0]:err_code:0xa0404401, clock:0xffffffff ofst[ 4]:err_code:0xa0403034, clock:0xffffffff Checksums are good but giving RROD with errors above. Something to do with data lines. Help please.
What size copper jumper?
Bit hard to follow, but overall great video. Thought I bricked my switch last night. Woke up and fixed it this morning
oh my god thank you so much
You are an absolute legend. Safed my switch after it being bricked by a corrupted update. Best video on TH-cam hands down! May god bless you and your family my good man
Super taf top😊
Thank you A THOUSAND TIMES!!!!! THIS is exactly THE tutorial, i was looking for 1 Year!!! Finally my Switch is saved, i`m sooooo grateful my man!!!! :D:D:D:D:D
Did you ever get this one fixed? Did it need reballing?
SI JALA y hasta con el auto RCM activado
does this still work?
I recently updated the switch and atmosphere and it got brick I followed the tutorial and now the Switch is fully usefull again! :D You Sr deserve more than a like and a Subscribe (I did it already) God bless you!
I got a switch with 18 burnt fuses (HOS:16.0.0 -16.1.0.). I accidentally deleted the NAND partition. Will this tutorial help me recover the stock version?
No idea. Probably not. Give it a try?
Hey, do you have a clue if this would work on a EU backwards compatible ps3? CECHC03. A01's are very hard to get without paying the American shipping + tax
Yep, it works fine on pretty much all phat PS3's including the none backward compatible ones. CECHC works fine. If you're looking for a BC CECHA revision, you can import them from Japan in working condition, boxed and complete for around £250.
My V1 console unpatched fw sysnand is 17.0.1 after nand rebuild from my old nand 7.0.1 exfat.not boot ofw or cfw any way to fix this problem???? If i restore nand from my old nand backup 7.0.1 exfat 29.120 gp and after 99% it get in nx nand manger error and console is boot blue secreen!!! Im lost
I have no idea. Sorry.
I have a question. I have done something similliar but my picture is shaking when I touch microscope. Do You have same problem?
To a limited extent it does, sure. It's dependent on the VESA arm, the desk or workbench and weight of the microscope and where and what it's mounted to. If you mount the vesa arm to a wall it'll be more stable for example. I personally don't notice the problem much, but there is some shake present. It also depends on how much you're Zoomed in.
Great video! What hot air temperature did you use when removing and placing the rsx voltage regulator and resistors? Thank you.
Hello. I installed the same IPS mod. Everything is working but there is only one problem. Start button does not work. Do you know what can cause the issue? Thank you
Año nuevo intento numero mil de revivir la switch... se quedaba en el logo... GRACIAS INFINITAS.... Que gran año nuevo. MUCHAS MUCHAS GRACIAS!
Mate, you are awesome, that's all I can say. Not someone to like a video let alone subscribe, but done both for you. Thank you once again.
Quality is very bad
Trying to fix the same thing - reflashed the bios and it seems to be booting but I'm getting no display output. I see you said the vbios was also dead - any tips on locating the vbios chip? Can't seem to find anything about it searching online.
It's been ages since I fixed it. If I remember correctly the vbios chip was an 8 pin chip somewhere on the board near the GPU die. You'll probably have to look at each IC and Google the text written on the chip to figure it out.
@@NewRetroRepair okay thanks for the info I'll see how I go
@@NewRetroRepair Found the right chip, now just trying to find the right vbios flash file xD
thanks bro!
So this fixed my switch, but am I able to update it now?
my switched bricked during an update in the SysNAND to 17.0 (through the official software update), unfortunately I cannot access the classic recovery mode to force a software update, because I get a black screen instead. Can I follow this guide to unbrick my SysNAND? If so, will I be able to play online in my sysnand after following this guide? Thanks!
My Switch was going through error code 2144-0001 every single time I tried to load anything, so I went about to clear the NAND and so far so good! Still works with 17.0.0, Nov, 2023 for anyone wondering. Thank you soooo much!!!
I don't get the same listing for keys as you... using lockpick I get "Secure boot key, TSEC key, Device Key, Bis key 00-03"? which key am I supposed to use for the prod info...
My nintendo wouldnt boot into ofw or cfw. With this tutorial i was able to save it and make it as new. Thanks for this tutorial!!
Tinfoil isn't necessary and likely causing more problems then any good. If you scroll through the preheat stage you can see the board flexes concave like a bowl. This happens when you heat one side of the board more then the other, like a bimetallic strip. This is likely the reason the mod didn't take. I'd remove the tinfoil, support the board more central, equalize the temps more between upside and downside and use 4 ohm resistors on the corners to control ball merging. It's also possible the RSX was damaged from excessive temps on donor removal but that board flexing problem needs to be addressed first.
I followed your tutorial to the T but it didn’t turn on for me. I have a full backup of 16.1.0. What can I do? :/ everything went exactly just like in this video. I accidentally updated it to 17.0.0. I’m guessing it’s the fuse count. How do I update the HOS? It does boot on CFE just not ofw. Great guide!
