Nice one dude. I bought two of these off fleabay for 20 quid. One no power the other no display. Will have a look at those pesky traces.

Each problem is unique with these so keep your eyes open for anything that looks dodgy.

Yeah they're great machines. Can't beat the Sonic, Golden Axe and Streets of Rage franchises.

Can you please fix some consoles for me? The Power and Option buttons on both my NGPCs have gotten unresponsive, my Game Boy Color has a permanent ringing sound problem, my 5552 model PlayStation doesn’t always detect controllers and I have many other problems with other systems! Can you please work on them?

Where are you based? I have a spare 1991 MD with Black Screen that needs looking at. If beyond repair the motherboard is going on the wall framed lollol. But if you wanted to take a look at it first...

    Nice job :) A VA6.8 I'm guessing unless I missed it

Good question actually. I didn't take a note. It's one that needs a triple bypass anyway. I think my old man ears are getting better attuned to the difference in audio thanks to you ;)

@@NewRetroRepair looks and sounds good to me :)
a Mk1 with the sound flaw would've been a VA7 and that would've had a QFP 68000 and the discrete YM2612 removed and a YM3438 added to the graphics & PSG ASIC similar to the Mk2 VA1 etc

@@RWL2012 Ah, this has a DIP 68000. I guess my old man ears need more work. Probably a VA6 yep, VA6.

Y'know, I couldn't remember this video so just saw what I did and you're right lmfao. I'm a lot better at this stuff than I was back when I made this to be fair. I made this back when I was a wee baby repair bloke. Anyway, the wire is just some enamelled copper wire. Be damned if I can remember the gauge of it though because I did this over 3 years ago.
