In this video we head to the Sierra Mountains just before a snow storm is about to roll in. We were excited at the likely hood we would be able to do some winter camping in our Four Wheel Campers Project M Pop Top camper. Installing a Fireplace Heater in Our Truck Camper Project M | Cozy DIY Upgrade

I really dont understand why someone would spend all the money for an overpriced GFC, just to run an exterior ladder. Just mount a wedge tent to a camper shell if youre going to do it this way…… GFC’s should be half of what they cost.

Well to start, when I got mine years back they were significantly cheaper. By thousands of dollars. They are very expensive now, secondly, personal preference of not messing with moving bedding sections to get in and out and disturbing the person next to me, easy to just climb out the zipper. I also liked having a secure bottom area that was weather and theft resistant. But now I own a Four Wheel Camper.

Thank you!!! It’s a Dickensen Newport heater 9000. There are multiple sources to buy from so just choose what you prefer…they are not a US company so they just have a bunch of dealers. I honestly don’t remember the website I ordered from. It was some east coast company.

I hiked half dome in June of 2010 from Curry Village and back in about 9.5 hours. On the way up I stopped for a few minutes on sub dome and had an orange. Like she said ( 11:40) it was the best piece of fruit I had in my life. Also you showed what I call the most infamous sign “Half Dome 2.0 miles” that was the longest 2 miles I ever hiked! The cables weren’t as scary as I thought they would be. I was 55 years old at the time. I am proud of myself and will always treasure the memories of doing that massive hike. Thanks guys!

I’ve been rock and mountain climbing for more than 4 decades. I wouldn’t take on this hike without the use of a harness and carabiner straps. The exposure, and consequences of a fall are serious, and dictate the use of safety equipment. Used properly, this practice adds almost no time to the hike, and while you never know when you’re going to slip, you really don’t know when somebody else is going to slip and knock you off the mountain. I’ve seen elsewhere that a ranger said, during the pre-hike brief, that “If you need a harness and straps to make this hike, then you’re probably not ready for the climb”. This is like saying “If you need insurance, you’re probably not ready to drive a car”. Irresponsible and downright stupid. In addition, if you are mid-hike and get caught in rain, or worse, these straps could easily save the life of even the most experienced climber.

So are the lights and fan wires in one? I’m trying to figure out how to run a solar generator like yours but have the 12v power lights, fan, refrigerator, and water pump. Seems like solar generators only come in one 12v plug. Your truck is looking great!

Greetings from Colorado. Thank you for making this video. I love the idea of installing one drawer instead of two, to utilize the rest of the full capacity of the bed space. Once quick question, did you fasten the base down into the bed, or do you find that the weight is heavy enough to keep it all put? Thanks!

In a similar way, I've found hiking to the bottom of the Grand Canyon can actually be worse than coming back up. Unless you're doing it in the summer heat - which is something no one should do, but many attempt anyway.

Half dome is one of the most deadly hikes in the world. Not because using the cables is the most dangerous, but because it is so heavily trafficked. With that being said, I would love to hike half dome. It would be nice if there were two systems. One system where you are guaranteed a pass if you pay a lot of money, and another pass with the lottery. There are people like me what want to go so bad and would pay for it. The lottery system is ridiculous.

If you have good boots, good gloves, are in good shape and the rock is dry its not that bad but many tourists are out of shape, don't have gloves and have tennis shoes with poor grip. You don't want to be up there when thunderstorms are nearby the top of that mountain is one big lightning rod and the rock is much more slippery when wet. If did fall off the cable you could tumble long ways and get seriously injured/killed but if you have the right gear and are paying attention the odds of falling are very low.

We did this hike a few days ago. Got a glorious day. The cables for us were not scary, but people who fear heights or lack upper body strength will struggle on it. Last year, we hiked Kragbolton in Norway. Scariest hike of our lives stepping out on that rock with exhausted legs. Overall .. half Dome is one of the best hikes in the US.
