I’m looking into another roof rack by Cali raised. They are claiming it’s about 5.5” from top of my tundra cab. How tall is the Sherpa height from top of the cab to the top on the Sherpa rack?
Thanks for watching, appreciate it! Well my truck had been super heavy, 37” tires and had a camper on it already before, so it’s had terrible mileage all along….The Four Wheel Camper didn’t make it any worse then it already was if that answers anything ha. I get 10.5-11mpg
I was curious if the roof rack helped with the wind buffering issues and if it improved gas mileage at all and if so, how much. My tundra gets about 11mpg with my four wheel on it. (35" tires) Thanks
Tons of help with wind noise. Made zero diff for gas. My truck gets 10 mpg before, during, after, camper or roof rack install. It’s been terrible its whole life 😂.
Yeah valid question, Even if I cant ultimately store anything in that section under the over hang I wanted it to fill the void for wind and just general appearance of filling the gap.
Always good stuff here, nice n clean work. I just can't force Myself to drill a few holes on My 2nd gen Tundra. I can only guess the weight of Your rig.....also, just curious about how the Icon Suspension is holding up, I think Icon manufacturers good sruff.
I’m new to your channel, but I have to say, you should be very proud of yourself with the install. I really enjoy watching camping videos and I believe I will thoroughly be entertained with yours Blessings to you and your wife.
sherpaec.com/products/grizzly This is the rack specific to 2022 tundras. Nuts can’t say what the clearance is on a Four Wheel Camper on your model year truck.
Another great vid but weren’t there already mounting points under the paint in the rain gutters, that you can access for use by poking through the paint into the threaded OEM fastener? That’s how it is in my 2nd gen Taco for my FrontRunner rack.
Hahaha for sure! Thanks, making progress with it for sure. ICON I going to be sending me some rims, I’ll be reaching out soon to get those swapped out.
Bro looked like kinda a mission but great install video! Too bad no one makes anything for us 1st gen fan boys 💔
Thanks, yeah those rear ones were a trick!
Looks good with the FWC overhang, glad you went the whole way in case you want to mount something even just to the side of the rack.
Thanks my man. Appreciate it. Yeah I’ll for sure be adding some Baja Design side lights or something.

Looked like a fun time dealing with the back brackets under the camper. 😁
You did a nice job though. 👍
Haha Yeah was tricky but it worked out. Thanks for checking it out.
Hey brother love the channel! I got a tundra and thinking of getting this or something similar, how many mpgs did you lose?
Thanks for watching, appreciate it!

Just a question, but why didnt you go with the sherpa cub rack? Since you do have the overhang of the camper.

Yeah that's what I figured just wanted to know, but sweet build!!

Hi thanks for watching and welcome. Appreciate the kind words.
Because of you I made sure to order my roof rack before my Project M gets here! Thanks
Ha good call. Glad it helped with the order of things.
@@prospectoverland Do you have your project M yet?
@@KaskadeHD yeah, it’s in this video. I’ve had it a year.
Did your roof rack quite down the wind noise and increase your gas mileage? Thanks!
Haven’t done a mpg test but it help the wind turbulence for sure.
Will 2022 tundra be able to use this platform? Me too, m.

Great video! Best part is the mountain bike in the background! ;)
The one with flat tires and only about 50 miles on it 😂
@@prospectoverland you know how to remedy that, right?!?!

100% for Tacomas….but Tundra’s don’t have those. I will never understand why they didn’t do it on Tundras also. Would make life so much easier.
@@prospectoverland no kidding! That ‘ain’t right!
hey you need a Discount Dave sticker for that garage door !! looks good nice rig !

Baja Design lights would look good up there. Good job👍
