Great video. I've seen many evap diagnostic videos and this is the only one that I've seen that mentions checking for electrical connection.

Awesome job... very good and explained that a 12 year old could understand and learn new techniques. Hats off to you.

I'm not sure if I'm understanding your remark correctly at 2:23. Are you saying this vent control valve (what Honda call the canister vent shut valve) is normally closed when the ignition key is on? So it must open when purging, or whenever the car is shut off?

    Nice clear video
Just a hint for finding a positive lead, if possible look at the color of the wires coming from the back of the connector, you can sometimes tell a colorful wire compared to a ground wire which sometimes is a solid color.

I just hooked up smoke. And took off canister hoses and put my thumb over them. And it holds pressure. It's spewed out when I let off. So😊

To close the evap soldenoid manually with vehicle off, could i simply run a wire from negative battery terminal and connect it to the ground pin of evap solenoid under the truck and then run a wire from the positive terminal on the battery and touch the positive pin on the solenoid?

If the valve is stuck open, do the gasses that escape become flammable in the vacinity of the canister on the car?

I wouldn't try it personally. Just run a wire from any 12v source on the car
