    Back in the old days you could just bang on the side of something and it would start working again. Like a television or something. Just give it a good whack and its fixed😊

    Thanks a lot for providing this very informative video! After removing the intake manifold of my 2012 Tundra to replace a knock sensor wire harness that mice chewed through, I now got P0441 (evap emission sys incorrect purge flow) and P0455 (evap emission sys large leak) codes. I will be replacing the evap purge valve (was only $18 at amazon) on top of the intake, then trace down the line to get the leak detection pump valve replaced at the canister (that thing is $220 sheesh). However, my question is: is it possible that neither of these parts are the cause and instead it could be a leak from not torquing down the intake manifold bolts to spec (I have the Magnuson supercharger and the bolts were an absolute bitch to unscrew and put back due to their shitty location). It is just too much of a coincidence that these codes appeared right after I finished the intake manifold project. However the truck runs like a top and I don't see any smoke coming out of the intake manifold area.?? Any info would be much appreciated. Thanks

    Could be bad vent valve, could be a little hole in fuel tank but i see no leaking gas around it or anything .

    Also if you are getting evap codes and can't find any leaks and your sensors are working properly, then you might have an electrical problem.

    I have a car puzzle mystery if any mechanics want to give me your input. There is a 2011 Kia Soul throwing a P0455 (large evap leak) code. We replaced the gas cap with an OEM Kia cap. I replaced the Canister Purge Valve solenoid. We ran smoke though it and saw no leaks anywhere. Took it to a Kia Dealership. They tested everything , bench tested the Evap canister , evap vent valve, gas cap , tested fuel pressure sensor and everything is checking out ok. But the P0455 code keeps coming back? The dealership said the Evap canister looks a little swollen but didnt show any signs of visible leakage. They said they could put a new Evap canister and evap canister filter on (which is 800 bucks) but cant guarantee that this will fix the problem. In short I am stumped and so is the mechanic at the Kia dealership. any suggestions would be helpful.

      Did you get it fixed? If not you could get an aftermarket canister on line or to save more could get a low mileage one at a recycling yard, your's might have gotten gas in it from over filling the tank

      I got the same car also. Replaced the gas cap, purge valve, vent valve, fuel tank pressure sensor and nothing. Thinking of changing out the fuel pump because I have over 200k on my Soul. Still working on it. Maybe I need to change out all the hoses. Scratching my head on this one.

      @@cesarguardiola4045 So we finally took it to a different mechanic who said they could fix it. They installed 3 different purge valves. The 3rd one finally cleared the code and it passed emissions. But a day later after passing emissions the P0455 code came back. Luckily we passed and were able to finally get tags put on. We are taking it back to the same mechanic to tell them the check engine light is back on. The mechanic did say that they have seen faulty KIA soul aftermarket purge valves in the past. I will keep you posted on what happens next. Good luck ! I know your pain.

    Need help. I have code p0455 , i already changed gas cap to oem one, changed purge valve, changed charcoal canister with one from junkyard, light still on. Took it to shop for smoke test and said there was smoke coming out of top of tank but they were going to charge me extra to drop the tank so I said fuck that, so i changed fuel tank o ring and nothing. Car smells like strong gas right after fill up, tank doesn't smell when its at half tank, and gas smells strong whenever i turn. I just dont know this issue is really putting me in a money pit.

    • @Grubkiller
      @Grubkiller ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You might have a hair crack in the filler neck Or one of the fuel lines leaks. Also when you turn the heat, there would be strong gas smell. My o ring by the fuel rail failed so I had replace that cause every time the car would turn on, it would pressurize the line and leak on the fuel rail.

    what do you think is the problem when you fill the gas tank is when an evap engine light comes on.

    The best way to fix evap leaks is to sell it and buy an electric car.

      @@FlatRateMechanic No, because EVAP codes give the mechanic the green light to scam you and replace parts that are functional.
