I love this! I couldn't figure out the last tutorial I watched but I'm going to combine the parts I did understand with this one and do vertical ribbing for the collar and the bottom. And I will close the gap between the front legs. I'm so excited to try this!
I knit a sweater for my cat at the beginning of lockdown madness. At first she would just flop over as soon as it was on, but now she's used to it and it actually seems to really soothe her! Anytime she's causing a ruckus at 4am I just put it on her and suddenly all she wants to do is snuggle.
It's hard to find a good how too for a dog coat. Your video is the best out of the ones I personally viewed. It was especially helpfull when you demonstrated on the dog. It shows how you were able to size correctly. Mine came out perfectly fitted without being too tight. Thanks!!
Wow! Vikki, thank you for your feedback! I really appreciate when people comment on these videos and let me know what I am doing right, or wrong. Thank you, truly, and I am so happy the pattern worked out for you! What kind of dog do you have and what is his/ her name???
Thank you Laura! Am going to clean some today. And then sit & try this out. My Bandit is very melow. He is a rescue Chi & I have been fond of Chi'i as far as I can remember. Love him very much!! Thank you for this easy totural. Can't wait to get started!! ❤❤
I'm probably never going to make a dog sweater because I dont have a dog, but this video was so good! I love seeing Thunder in videos, his sweet little face makes my day 💗
Thanks, Laura, for easy-to-follow instructions for a non-fussy coat. I wanted one to whip up for three different dogs that wouldn't take me days and days. This fits the bill! (I also enjoyed your love of Thunder who is a doll.)
Awe thank you for the kind words Zoe! I do love my little Gremlin Chuhuahua, Thunder! Check back in a week or so (I have new tutorials coming out with Thunder in time for Christmas!)
I did sweaters for dogs but went bottom to neck! It is interesting to see how we each tackle a project! I love your morning chats but don't get to them often. Just know it is my crazy schedule. You a a wonderful person to hang with! Always, Dawn
I am almost finished one for my old kitty! I actually learned the double crochet just for/with thia video. It was a great video! Thanks for sharing! 😁❤️
Wow that's awesome! Hey Jon! Thank you so much for watching, and I am glad you were able to follow along. Oh gosh a sweater on a cat?!? did your little devil love it or hate it (my kitty is a total demon, and no amount of hands would be able to force him into a sweater! Haha!)
That's the BEST method with the yarn i've ever seen on TH-cam,to measure my Chihuahua! Thank you SOOOOO much! Regards from austria and a nice St.Niklas day ❤️
My little Cory chihuahua is about the same size as yours. With doubled yarn, it looks to be faster than my usual way to crochet him a sweater. Your baby boy is so calm! Thks!
Awe thank you Bonnie! My little Thunder Bean is only calm when he is inside, and with me. Otherwise, he is a total terror! I love him to bits anyway though. Did you end up trying it this way? I find the double crochet really does speed things up without compromising on warmth (you know how chilly a chi can get!)
haha! he is totally spoiled and so lucky; but he totallyyyyy deserves it! Thank you for watching Lee and do try to make those 3 jackets! you can do it!! I believ
I'm thinking about making one of these for one of my aunts dog for Christmas(lol). She has a dog like him so I could follow this basically to the exact
Wow, you're quick using three strands of yarn. I have a difficult time attempting more than one strands! Luv the sweater on your doggy! Thank you for the beginning instructions using yarn to measure!
You need more likes girly🥰❤️I love thunder he is a cutie reminds me of my girl chica who is a chihuahua too🥰🤗I made the cute cowl hat thing for her and she loves it🥰🙏🏻keep up the amazing work laura🥰❤️🥰❤️
2 years later.... lol you just popped up. Like how you explain and make look so Easy Seems I could make it for different size dog the way you do the measurements. Thunder is such a sport lol.
My only comment would be that the music was irritating. I don't mind some music but not that one. Just my own personal opinion. I really don't think music is necessary. Really good pattern. I loved the way you showed us how to measure and everything. I want to make this one. Thanks!
I have an adult Chihuahua that is just shy of 2 pounds and NO CLOTHES OR PATTERNS FIT HER!!! Thank you so very much for the explanation of what to do. My little ones 6 inch waist thanks you too. Lol
I wanted to do a dog sweather but I do not have a dog, so it wold be good if you could tell how many stitches you do in every step. Thank you for the tutorial.
To be honest with you slvtblussxm, I felt the EXACT SAME WAY! Thunder was just a dog we were fostering through a dog rescue. We had him for 5 days before he totally won us over. haha! I am still not a chihuahua person... I am a Thunder person.
Thanks for watching Sandra. There are many beginner videos on my channel & if you subscribe you will get notifications of any future ones that I may make in the future. Cheers
What's the difference between a single crochet and a half double crochet? Can this pattern be done with just single crochet? How do you do double crochet and half double crochet?
Hey there Margaret, I am sorry the video was too fast. I am still working on perfecting my instructions! I hope the next doggy video works better for you!
This tutorial.os very hard to follow... I'm experienced in crochet and have been doing it since I was 8. I'm 26 now. I don't know of it is because I stopped for a little over a year die to depression or maybe that I crochet on UK terms... but I can normally follow pretty well. Do younger a written pattern?
Hey Destini! I am sorry it's difficult to follow. It was one of my first full tutorials in crochet. I have an updated sweater tutorial up on the channel now, with written instructions within the actual video. Check it out. Also, check back on Tuesday, as I am editing 5 new crochet tutorials in greater detail with voice overs and slow mo, to make it easier to follow. Thanks for the feedback! And thanks for watching!
I love the idea you've got here, however, not only was the music annoying but the long sections of speeding through constantly.... it was not only distracting, but confusing when you would all of a sudden stop and start...long periods of speeding...repeat, etc. I would have thought pausing through the repetitive parts/rows, then show the work while describing it as you did, would have gone alot further in explaining your pattern for a wider audience. Like I said, it's a good idea and basic pattern, just difficult to endure, and that's coming from a 40+ year veteran of crochet. PS I love your dogs!

Vikki Johnson Finn is a nice name.

You're most welcome Laura & you should totally give it a shot =)

My only comment would be that the music was irritating. I don't mind some music but not that one. Just my own personal opinion. I really don't think music is necessary. Really good pattern. I loved the way you showed us how to measure and everything. I want to make this one. Thanks!

Chihuahuas never really appealed to me but Thunder is so cute bloody hell
To be honest with you slvtblussxm, I felt the EXACT SAME WAY! Thunder was just a dog we were fostering through a dog rescue. We had him for 5 days before he totally won us over. haha! I am still not a chihuahua person... I am a Thunder person.

Making a sweater for 6 pound chihuahua for a friend. I don’t have measurements. Does this fit a 6 pound chihuahua?
When you started increasing after you made the collar... Did you increase both rows or just the first?
Thank you, do you have anything light for spring?
Not yet, but I think we should do that!
maybe a lighter yarn?
What's the difference between a single crochet and a half double crochet? Can this pattern be done with just single crochet? How do you do double crochet and half double crochet?
I would suggest trying this pattern as is at first and searching how to modify a pattern. Thank you
Last minute😄🙌
Thank you for watching Mary Longoria
I love this but I can’t measure the dog Im making it for it’s a very small Chihuahua
Can you put the link in for the drop stitch tutorial? I can’t find it
Thank you, these are good instructions! :)
Hey there TJ! Thank you so much! I really appreciate the feedback. I hope your little dog (or cat?) loves his new sweater!

I’m trying to make my sisters dogs sweatshirts for Christmas but I don’t know their measurements 😩

HI THANKS FOR VIDEO YOU ARE VERY FAST,COULD NOT KEEP UP,LOVE YOUR LITTLE DOGS SO SWEET.
Hey there Margaret, I am sorry the video was too fast. I am still working on perfecting my instructions! I hope the next doggy video works better for you!
I am so tired of making cute dog sweaters and then the yarn makes it look awful ball of fuzz after a few wears. Anyone know how to fix this?
Thanks for watching Trigger Toes
very good I just d not like the colour of the wool.
Thanks for watching Margo & you can definitely pick your own colour and not copy what I'm doing :-)
Thank you
You're welcome Legend Angel

Someone needs to make a varigated leapord and cheeta yarn
🤷♀️

Is there a printed pattern?
Hey there Marsha, no there is not. Not yet! It may come in the future, but not currently. Sorry!

Thats funny
Ill trade you your sheeps fur for a sweater
You don't explain what you are doing and your video is going at a very fast pace so it is impossible to follow you and make the sweater
Lo tejes muy rápido no se entiende
Need to go a little slower and actually show the beginning stitches
Thank you for watching Cathy & you can totally slow down the video by using the TH-cam's video player and slowing down the video. Hope that helps.
Why the music don't u know how annoying that is can't even hear u because of the stupid music turn the music off
She did not follow written instructions
Lost
Thank you for watching and giving it a shot Briana
Very hard to follow!
