Yay!! My dog, Daisy came from the shelter very matted and had to get drastically shaved and she's feeling pretty shy and embarassed about it, I'm making her this sweater to give her a little confidence boost! Thank you!!
So cute sweater . They are too loyal to Their family so they deserve this kind of love and respect to their pets. ( Soul mates) We salute you for your great contribution.🇮🇳🫡🙏😊👑🥳🥳🥳🥳🎊🎉🎆🎇🎆🛐
Thank you so much, Ashley. This is by far the best pattern out there. I made three sweaters in one afternoon for my three Maltese and they love them. I had to adjust a few rows to make them a custom fit and they turned out beautifully. I am very impressed with your video. Thank you again.
This pattern is amazing!! It was easy to understand, saying that I'm only 13, and looks really cute as Christmas sweaters if you add a green and red stripe! I made it for my friend and I can't wait to give it to her!! C:
Thank you! This was a big hit with my dog-niece. I made a small in green and added a shamrock appliqué. Now I’m making a Christmas sweater with red, white, and green I got on clearance.
Love the way you explain everything and show in which stitch we are going into next. You have a lot of patience and i am so thankful for that because i can learn and make my family nice stuff
Thanks for sharing your pattern. I've made 3 size M for my sweet foster girl and one L for my puppy. I did have to add extra rows to adapt it to their bodies but I love how cute and easy they are to make. Thank you!
Hello! I know this comment was from 2 years ago but I’m having trouble with the row 13-25 for the medium size and I’m not getting 83 stitches and needed advice on what I’m doing wrong please 😅
OMG! Thanks for the video. I followed with the pattern and your video. Your right! I didn't care for the way the decreases looked but the last round of SC was the finishing touch. So cute! I don't have pets but I have friends who do.
Well, you beat me lol! And actually this pattern has been very popular for me. I’ve been selling dog sweaters at a dog brewery where I live for a side hustle and I have made several for large dogs and finally found this video for the small smaller ones🤪
Great tutorial, made a scrap yarn sweater following along the tutorial for our elderly family dog, super easy and managed to finish the project within a few hours! Now I’m just hoping it’ll actually fit her when I go visit them in two weeks. Fingers crossed!
Could you please make a companion video for you large dog sweater? I have a very hard time following written patterns, I learn visually :D please oh please
I made the xsmall & had to start over several times cuz my stitch count was off. There's videos on here for learning to read patterns. They're very helpful 🙂
I'm also a visual learner. Maybe you can use this video, but pause before she's done each step and keep going for your size. Then when you are done that row you can resume the video to the next step. The beginning and end of each row will still look the same as what she has done so hopefully you could still use it visually.
This pattern and video is absolutely amazing….. I’ve made the xs one following the tutorial brilliantly, my daughter will be really pleased. All done in an evening ❤, thank you 😊
I’m so glad I found this! Thank you for the instructions to do the entire sweater. Your instructions are so clear, and you stop to explain things exactly where I would have a question! I’m going to start making this tonight 😀
Love this pattern, thank you for sharing it! However, it would be really helpful if you included in this same video, the steps for the FHDC row, and just started from the beginning.
I have my first doggy since forever, a Doxiepoo 🐶! I finally have the space and yard and time to give one what he deserves. I am making him this sweater just in time for autumn using a worsted camouflage and blaze orange. Thank you so much for this pattern 💗
So cute! I was hoping you'd show how to put it on the dog. I think with mine it might be like trying to put an octopus in a basket, but I'm definitely going to give it a go!
I am having the same problem as a previous crafter! After I get the chest done, I am not understanding how to do the back flap. Row 1: Ch (16, 18,20), (sc, dc) in marked stitch, *sk next st, (sc, dc) in next* repeat between** (27, 29, 31) more times, ch-(16, 18, 20). Stitch count:(90, 98, 106). I am not understanding if the stitches we chained should be connected to make a loop? Also, after the last chain of 16, what do we do with the stitches that are left? Are they not worked? Please help! Thanking you in advance for your assistance.
Can you make a video for the large dog sweater as well? I'm having issues with the back flap button holes and a visual would really help. Thanks for the awesome pattern!
This is sad got to the a holes and the instructions are only for extra small why?? You have everything for 3sizes until the arm holes how can you do that
I absolutely love this pattern. I know this is an older video, but are their any suggestions for scaling up the size for a dog the size of a small horse?
My furby is a leggy cavachon with an almost greyhound looking chest. I'm hoping to kind of wing it and keep putting it on her as we go, there should be stretch in the fabric, yes? Is that pattern worked in even numbers?
My Chihuahua is 5 lbs and impossible to find sweaters for that don’t cost a fortune. I’ve crocheted and knitted some for him. However, I really love the look of this one.
Thank you for this video. Can you please give us the measurements for your x-small sweater. I have a Yorkie that is 3.5 lbs so finding sweaters that work for her is challenging. Thank you😊
I’m trying to follow the pattern for a medium and I am lost at the arm holes. I did the single and double in the first sc and then skipped snd did the sc. what is next? I don’t understand on the written pattern either.
I just love your channel. I was looking for a nice and easy dog sweater pattern for my two Shih Tzus and this seems perfect. Thank you so much. Great tutorial 👍
I love this pattern! Any suggestions for a stitch count for a size between the Med and Large? I’ve got a roly poly chihuahua. Neck 12”, Chest 18”, Belly 17”, Length 12”. I also have to shorten the ribbed collar because he’s only 3.5” from collar (neck) to whither (top of leg for leg hole.) He is a rescue and doesn’t like things too tight…so the medium pattern is just a bit too small, especially at the chest. Thanks!!!!! This is the best doggie sweater online by FAR!
I finally finished my baby girl's sweater! Yay! I first started the medium pattern but it was way too big so I restarted the small and it worked for my 20 lb dog. I think the collar is too long though. How would I do only half of the collar? Thanks!
I ran into a problem. I got to row 25 and i was 10 stitches short. Came up with 73 instead of the 83 i shouldnhave had. I followed everything to a tee. Went back and made sure my collar ended with the 53. Where did i go wrong????
Hello! I made the small one, and I love it. I was trying to follow the one for a large dog, but I cannot figure out how to do the chest flap. For row 1 and 2 I have 18 stitches, and its to the side not the middle. I only have 2 rows and it looks like you have about 15. And how did you get it in the middle?? Please help!
In the large/xl dog pattern, where do I attach the wool for the back flap, row 1, after I have added a marker to the 18th stitch to the left of the chest flap?
My dog’s neck is 12” and chest is 19” should I do a small or medium? (she has a *very* long and skinny neck so I know I’ll need to add a ton of length to the neck, and her body is *absurdly* long) so I’m needing to make something custom for her since I’ve yet to find anything that comes near to fitting her body type… hoping I can extend on the length once I get the initial fit right. Can’t decide which size would fit her best! What do you think based on the measurements?
Absolutely love your patterns🥺is there any way you could make a tutorial like this one for your pattern of the large version of the dog sweater. I need to crochet some for my big girls and I'm a beginner so I'm having some trouble understanding the written pattern😔💗thank you very much for what you do, it's beautiful work really
I, too, am having problems with the large printed pattern purchased. I have done as far as the back flap and now stuck on page 5 where the pattern starts " Row 1: ch-(16,18,20)", etc.
Love this , I have a cocker spaniel that I am going to make her own swather . Can you tell me what crocheting hook your using , I have arthritis in my hands and this hook looks like something I can used. Thank you so much for your lovely pattern ❤️
I am a beginner could you show me where I can find the how to crochet from the starting foundation? I would like to do my first project for my Portia (Yorkie) . Thank you so much.
Search for half double crochet foundation on TH-cam. I looked at 4, and picked the one I could follow the easiest. I spent about an hour repeating the foundation row before starting my dog sweater.
Seems that a 28 inch lurcher, naturally slim, yet deep in ribs, v short in chest, has 20inch loop holes for legs has completely driven me demented between the extra large pattern, the medium pattern and the chest increase of the small dog. I'm at my wits end having tried and failed both buttoned flap- less than 2 inches in between front legs with a rib width of almost 3 inches. How to match the body or now considering cutting out the whole chest part completely so it's a collar with a couple of inches of increase then a full split almost, somehow with a belly band that decreases significantly a good 18 inches to above tail. Am ginger haired & vexed. Any help anyone? Lurcher or greyhound owners or experts PLS- been learning over 6months all the basics. Managed my working polecats jumpers no problem. Without a pattern. This is the reason I began abd I can't do it. I refuse to give up and buy one ready made. Pls help- anyone? God bless & TY for your time. Excuse the rant, have strained eyes, clicking wrists now & I think I ve pulled a muscle staring between patterns, tutorials and the pets. Just told the other half to go a long trek with his own hound for an hours peace. 36, game lassie. With the age gap he's blessed to be dead by the time my menapause hits. Chuckles. 🦊🐕

❤❤❤
I can’t believe this is free, it’s so well done and easy to follow. I’m following along now on row 19 and having fun! Thank you
Wonderful! I am glad you are enjoying the pattern!
I just made the x-small and it fit my 4 lb poodle perfectly. You made it so easy to follow your instructions.
So cute sweater . They are too loyal to Their family so they deserve this kind of love and respect to their pets. ( Soul mates) We salute you for your great contribution.🇮🇳🫡🙏😊👑🥳🥳🥳🥳🎊🎉🎆🎇🎆🛐

can you give me a pattern for a Tea cup Chiuahua
Brigitte. What did you adjust yours for ? I have a Malshi. Half matlese and Shitzu.

Same here
Thank you
Thank you very much. This is the best dog coat I've found. The stiches are nice not like those plain looking double crochet posts.
Believe it or not, but I actually have to adjust this pattern to make it smaller! My Chihuahua is so small! I love how easy this pattern is! Love it!
I’m not the best at reading patterns yet so this is a lifesaver! Can’t wait to make one!
Thank you! This was a big hit with my dog-niece. I made a small in green and added a shamrock appliqué. Now I’m making a Christmas sweater with red, white, and green I got on clearance.
Wonderful!
Loved "somewhere in the middle of this blob" lol thanks for the video. Great work and easy to follow along!
I made one and it turns out perfect 🖤, I just change the hook for one 3.5mm bc I have a Chihuahua, I love it, thanks.
grateful for you Ashlea for taking the time to make this tutorial.. your instructions were crystal clear..thanks bunches
Love the way you explain everything and show in which stitch we are going into next. You have a lot of patience and i am so thankful for that because i can learn and make my family nice stuff

Thank you for sharing. I'm new at crochet and your patient explanations are perfect. My Jesse loves her jacket!
Thanks for sharing your pattern. I've made 3 size M for my sweet foster girl and one L for my puppy. I did have to add extra rows to adapt it to their bodies but I love how cute and easy they are to make. Thank you!

OMG! Thanks for the video. I followed with the pattern and your video. Your right! I didn't care for the way the decreases looked but the last round of SC was the finishing touch. So cute! I don't have pets but I have friends who do.
Anyone from 2024 just me??
Nah, I'm here nov 2024

I am having a major problem with doing the size Large! Not understanding Row 1for the back flap?
@@cathybradbury7231 hi me too for this part, I am new, have you figured out the back flap row 1 ?

Made an xs for my senior cat in the Christmas one, came out great!! ❤
I absolutely love this pattern!! So easy to follow and looks beautiful as well. My little girl loves her sweater!!
Well done and beautiful!! Thank you for the free pattern. The video, in addition to the pattern, makes everything clear.

You're welcome!
Hello, Thank you for sharing! May I ask why are you turning the work at the collar?
It hides the join I think.
So on body parts row, till 20 rows, do i have to chain 1 and turn every time ?
Very cute, Love this pattern.. Thank you.
So how many rows of skipping do you crochet for the small after making the collar?
good question! im wondering too... any clue?

@@HeartHookHome turned out great, now on my 2nd one. Tyfs ur lovely work with us all.
Thanks for the info I made one for a first try mine came out pretty good.
Great to hear!
Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful free pattern. I have a Dachshund so need to make this longer.... will it be easy to add length? TIA
Yes, you can continue adding rounds after the armholes and before the tapering begins.

I need to crochet some for my big girls and I'm a beginner so I'm having some trouble understanding the written pattern😔💗thank you very much for what you do, it's beautiful work really
I don't have any plans to do a video on that one, but you can always email support@hearthookhome.com and we can try to get you going!

Great pattern and you explain it very well
Thank you! 😊
Thanks for this.... can’t wait to make this 😊❤️
Does this video tutorial also match up with the large extra large and extra extra large?
Unfortunately it does not.
Can you please make a video for a medium dog French bulldog thank you
Thank you. 🥰 beautiful job.
Is there a reason why you switch it around when doing the ribbing?
It hides the join.
Very trendy walking sweater!,
Is there a way to add a hole for the harness?
How can i make this smaller? My chihuahua is just a little guy with a smaller waist. Do you happen to have an xxs pattern?
I did it twice, but I would like to know if you have hat whit this pattern
Thanks for this incredible tutorial!
