One of the things I love the most about the game is how many shroob characters mirror mushroom kingdom characters: Green and red shrooboids are Mario and Luigi, Princess Shroob is Princess Peach, Yoob is the Yoshis, Shroobsworth is Toadsworth... Really makes me wonder what happened to Shroob equivalent of Bowser to be left forgotten at Planet Shroob
I hope another studio is commissioned to continue that ip. Seeing how much attention the general mario rpg games are given right now, with both a super mario rpg and paper mario thousand year door remake in the making, if they will be successful, there's no damn way nintendo want to miss out on mario & luigi. So ig supporting and buying the rpg games is the best way of telling nintendo we want another mario & luigi
I just love so much how this video is not "Why Partners in time is the black sheep of the saga" again, but "Why Partners on time is Amazing as a game itself"
Partners in Time took full advantage of the dual screens and the extra buttons to craft some clever and creative gameplay. Those who say the gameplay is too difficult with 4 characters have major skill issues because it couldn't be simpler to master. It's not like you have all 4 of them in a line (similar to Paper Jam), you're always controlling 2 characters at once and the characters always keep their same buttons no matter what in the overworld and in battle. It's a shame the marketing was very minimal with Superstar Saga and Partners in Time as I think that's a major reason neither game sold as well as they could've. It's also a shame Alphadream was in so much debt when they were remaking the older games as I'm sure they would've remade Partners in Time as well if they weren't (E. Gadd said he was building a time machine in Minion Quest and that he felt a new adventure was on the horizon, flat out "confirming" it). Not only would it have been great to all 5 M&L games in (mostly) consistent quality, but the side story could've been about Fawful getting ready for Bowser's Inside Story, which could've been so awesome. I guess Partners in Time really will be lost to time.😞
I agree with all of this butt you can't tell me that the first thing that came in your mind was about fawful and not about how minions would deal with a much more greater threat that is the shroobs apocalypse.
Having the side mode about Fawful would connect Partners in Time more to Superstar Saga and Bowser's Inside Story. He's a character who does practically nothing in the original PiT and by the time BIS roles around, he has an army and a bunch of tech. Where did he get it from? Where did he find Midbus and the Best Fitness Friends? I don't think he would've stayed in the dark about the Time Portals. You could even have Fawful and Midbus alternate between who's the shopkeeper depending on how far you progressed. Also, I really couldn't care less about Baby Bowser's Pilots, which seems to be the general idea of what a PiTDX sidemode would be.
I JUST completed this game and I had to come check out what people thought about it. I really liked it!! Story was fun and I loved the music and locations throughout. The controls are tough. I'll say that right away. At the end of my 18-hour journey, I still hadn't mastered them, but thats okay. Its definitely different than the predecessor. I wish Bros. Points were in this one but with there being 4 characters to control I can see why they maybe thought items were better. Even though it felt like you were bombarded with item pickups throughout the game, you will need them, trust me. The final boss was hard 😅 It took me an hour and a half but only one try. I didn't know what I was doing and I was sure I wouldn't beat it that go around but I did! Speaking of the ending, it's a good one! I won't spoil it, just go play this awesome game! Now, onto Bowsers Inside Story!
*One of my favourite moments is when you meet the “star sprite” that can make pathways and such! And then….. baby luigi starts crying! Well later in the game you find out the “star sprite” was telling half baked truths! The cobalt star was in fact shattered but not by Princess Shroob, the “star sprite” Did say if you collect 2 more of the 3 cobalt fragments you already had it would destroy the shroob barrier… and it did! However, the intention was NOT to make you “the hero of the land” but in fact something more devious! you find out later in the the game after beating Princess Shroob that the cobalt star was used to keep out Princess Shroobs…. ELDER TWIN SISTER! What creeps me out the most and literally sends shivers/chills down my spine was how elder princess shroob was able to take on the appearance of something so innocence especially when stuffwell points out the star sprites real identity was in fact the elder princess of shroobs just BEFORE the final battle and the only TWO characters to notice something off about the cobalt star were Kylie and Past Luigi at the Star Hill/Shrine! Bowser’s Inside Story is a better game but my god that was something Bowser’s Inside Story only DREAMED OF DOING!*
This should’ve got a remake over Bowsers Inside Story. You could play it through backwards compatibility and everyone who played it said it was near perfect. PiT on the other hand had some more complaints. It’s my personal favorite (outside of brothers attacks being consumable items) and was more deserving of a remake.
I really think that Nintendo messed up when they requested remakes for Superstar Saga and Bowser's inside story, but did not care at all for Partner's in time, the way that I think it should have been handled, is that they had remade all 3 games and packaged them into a single cartridge even if they had to charge more money for it because it would have been 3 games in 1 cartridge, and I am pretty sure that everyone who enjoyed these games would have bought it, but the way they would have guaranteed sales would have been to release the game on the Switch instead of the 3DS, because it was stupid to remake Bowser's inside story since the DS version could have already been played on the 3DS, since that handheld had backwards compatibility so there was no point for a lot of people who owned the original, to go ahead and buy it again which is why Alphadream was doomed, but I can guess that having only one screen for the Switch would have made the port a little more complicated, because of so many of the features that utilized both screens for two of those games.
Interesting choice for one of these videos, since I always considered this one of the weaker Mario & Luigi games. It's definitely not a bad game to be sure, but I felt that sectioning off areas in the past slowed things down compared to the more open worlds you explore in Superstar Saga and Bowser's Inside Story, as well as making backtracking a wee bit more tedius. Not to mention the bleak and depressing tone of the Shroobs invasion kind of conflicts with the otherwise wacky antics this series is known for, and I REALLY didn't care for how much Luigi gets the shaft in this game. In my opinion, Luigi is treated the worst here than in any other Mario & Luigi game, what with him constantly getting slapstick beaten-up, that Stargate giving poor Luigi a hard time seemingly for no reason, and Princess Peach having the audacity to thank Mario and the Babies for all their work while leaving Luigi out, like COME ON! I know that's part of this series whole bit, but it was funny in Superstar Saga because Luigi isn't as well-known as Mario, not because it just sucks to be Luigi (and even then, I didn't care for how Bowser somehow doesn't remember who Luigi is in this series in general). Sorry for being overly negative here, like I said, this is still a good game, I like how it iterates on the first game by adding Baby Mario and Baby Luigi to the mix and ties their controls to the X and Y buttons like how Mario and Luigi are tied to the A and B buttons. Not to mention it's got fun characters, funny moments, and while the game's overall tone has issues, I respect it for going to some dark places. Great stuff all around, if you can look past its flaws.
@@mariobroultimate1808 I prefer the Story and the characters, and the just the feel of the adventure you go on to be honest the first 3 games are all close to being my favorite, but bowsers inside story is special to me
11+ Minute video on game I like and his thoughts on it. 7 minutes and 30 seconds of the video is recounting the story. The rest is intro, gameplay mechanics and an outro. Where is the video? This is a glorified Childrens' story bookread.
I'm going to have to say "nothing". The battles became more tedious by doubling action commands and making boss fights take what feels like an hour. Easily the worst game in the series.
Not to mention the fights in this game are brutally difficult, especially Elder Princess Shroob. I take far too much damage from a single attack and don't get enough experience from enemies, even though I've fought every single enemy I've come across. For a game that makes me experiment through trial and error to learn the attack patterns of eenemies, it really feels like there's very little room for error.

Hey the Mario RPG remake is being made by a different studio so it’s possible.
I hope it will this game was my childhood. I love the DS
@exeacua Correction...
It should get a sequel :)
This game was simply amazing
Best storyline in the series
This is what I was wondering because agreed I was looking to see if it was based of one of the movies but ig they just went all out on this ds title 🔥
Compare to Sonic Generations?
One of my M&L favorite games of all time
Maybe the best Mario & Luigi game in the series
Makes me wish I had actually finished Superstar Saga.
Not for the first time.

Yeah I watched a guy who unfairly criticised PiT on TH-cam but you could tell that he just had skill issues ☠️

my nostalgia favorite for sure
I loved exploring the mushroom kingdom and the bean bean kingdom of the first two games. They were so charming and creative.
Its my favorite the only one that really needed the remake bowsers inside story was already great enough

Keep doing these videos please . Always enjoyable !
Fantastic game. Somehow was surprised to see the elder princess shroob, never saw it coming!

Very underrated indeed!
