As home gaming branched off of "a way to play arcade games at home," a few companies came up with their own breakthrough titles, and Capcom made a big blue splash in the Japanese market with the release of Rock Man, or as we'd come to know him in Western markets, Mega Man!

You eloquently covered this well talked about system. I liked how you considered the context of "when" Megaman was released and how it would be compared to its contemporaries.

I'm still wondering why this channel doesn't have more subs. You've got better content than many other gaming channels out there. The format is better as well. On that note. Don't ever change the intro. It's gold.

I really dig the amount of praise this game got here. So many people compare it to its sequels but honestly this game has so much charm and character and playing it give me good feels even when I'm raging.

I started late with the Mega Man X games. Still great to go back and play the original Mega Man games, even the first one

Great video as always ☺️ I loved this as a child but it was also responsible for my first rage quits 😂 hearing you talk about it’s tough but fair approach to difficulty I wonder if it was an early influence on the philosophy behind games like Dark Souls later on 🤔…

I never really got into Mega Man, but after this video I think I'll give it another shot. Great video by the way, I love the general positive vibe in this series.

Starting with Bombman makes so much more sense.

Another great video! Really well put together, so much so that I'm shocked your videos don't get more views. Excellent content!!

I was surprised to hear it sold poorly in North America. I was 7-8 when it came out and all the other video game kids loved it like me.

Megaman 1 doesn’t get the love it deserves. When you compare it to any other action game out at the time it absolutely sweeps the competition

Love this game. It's often overlooked by Mega Man 2 and X. However, I enjoy the music and gameplay of this one just a tad more.
Keiji Inafune and the rest at Capcom created a masterpiece here and had a long ,great, run for a long time afterwards

So when are you going too do a continuation of this Franchise? And do a video on megaman 2. Cause many within the gaming community and industry including my self consider Megaman 2 to be one of the best games of all time. With it always making it on a top hundreds list.

Mega Man 2 may be the best of the NES games, but the original is the one I love the most.
P.S. You always start with Bomb Man, then go to Guts Man, and then Cut Man.

Honestly, I think Mega Man really broke out and became popular with Mega Man 2, and Mega Man 3 is where the formula was perfected. Mega Man 1 is a bit rough around the edges, and ironically not that big of a hit initially. Still, you gotta start somewhere, and it's not like the first Mega Man is bad, just... really brutal at times.
