A complete view of the historical context and the reasons involving the gameplay, story and a lot more of why the game in question is great is not everyone that can do it! I'1ve watched some of these videos from you and I can gladly say that you nail it every single time!
In Paper Mario case, it's a very good game overall. You don't need to be in the Paper Mario community to enjoy this masterpiece. You don't know the community? The community that says that play all 6 games, but actually only play or half of them or just 1 or 2 and criticize the other half? XD
This game, as you said it, manages to test your skills, strategies, memorization... It's hard to just categorize it with just "RPG".
I hope your channel grows and more people see you here, dude. You're seriously overlooked in the platform. I'm not joking when I say that I watch you alongside The Gaming Historian, Summoning Salt and others great creators in the site. It's hard to describe in words just how much the original Paper Mario means to me. It's not the first Mario game or the first RPG I ever played, but it's the first Mario RPG I ever played, and even though Super Mario RPG technically did something similar to it beforehand (heck, this was originally going to be a sequel to that game, even), what made this game feel special to me is that it was the first time I felt Mario's world was fleshed out and believable, with all the major species and areas represented in some form, and even some more obscure species too (I attribute Fuzzy's resurgence in the Mario franchise to how common they are in Paper Mario). Again, I feel like this feeling of Mario's world being fleshed out is stronger here than it was in Super Mario RPG, since that game had a bunch of new species that were never seen before and never seen again (until the remake), whereas Paper Mario had a lot of fun with established species and giving individual characters from each species unique traits, particularly with the partners. It's that feeling of explanding Mario's world in a way that felt believable that I miss from Paper Mario, and Mario RPGs in general. Hopefully the Super Mario RPG and Thousand-Year Door remakes bring that back.

Nice. This is a game I appreciate more as time goes by, purely because I was too young to understand it on release. It is so charming and fun, and I like trying out different mechanics with different combinations [especially the badges]. Its sequel on the GameCube is mostly equal to this one too.
This was the second Paper Mario game I ever played, with Thousand Year Door being my first. Even though it was a "step down" from TYD, I enjoyed every second of playing it. It's such a great game.
