Cricket and monkey are the best for episode reviews and revisit. Some do lore better. Some do books better. But IMO none do episodes better. I know when April comes i will watch the episodes and eagerly await the review by nerd soup. Thats why i made a comment saying we should start a petition that they revisit episodes they reviewed cuz they have different viewpoints and arent speculating(stole that reason why they should from someone else in my comment thread)

Then why in the books does he have a chain but it is very short. When Jamie meets him it describes how it's tight around his neck so I assume he had SOME links but not all of them and in the books at least he still has it. If I'm not mistaken

Im not one of those people who believe that everything after season 4 was shit. I really enjoy season 5, 6 and 7 and will probably enjoy 8 as well. But there's no denying that the show dropped in quality after this episode.
W-James five was one of the weakest the beginning of 6 kinda sucked as well but towards the end like episode 8 it started getting better but went down again in season 7
@@blandersummer I disagree. The storyline in season 5 was good but some episodes had pacing issues. Season 6 gave us some of the greatest episodes in the entire series and season 7 again had pacing issues, and a poorly written episode but the rest was solid. Even "Beyond The Wall" was better than the majority of other television shows that id seen that year.
W-James I do agree with the fact that game of thrones weakest is still good in other books but be honest did u really feel like the sand snakes were good compared to other characters in the show by standard there maybe above average but got extremely weak
W-James for me it’s a matter of the first 4 seasons being some of the best, however I do also feel like that’s also to do with much of the story. Robb and Catelyn are killed, ending that story at the end of season 3, Joffrey dies at the beginning of season 4 and the game that is played in kingslanding also ends. Tyrion leaves kingslanding, Tywin dies. Season 4 is very much the end of an era, with many great parts of the show ending there. However that’s not to say that the show is then bad afterwards. Season 6 is a fantastic season and while yes season 5 and 7 are probably two of the weaker seasons, by no means are they bad seasons. They both have absolutely great parts about them but they just have more issues than other seasons. I honestly believe if season 7 had 10 episodes it’d of been received much better, coz they’d of had more time to develop the story and people wouldn’t complain about rushed storylines. As well the way I see it season 4 also marks the move away from the old, what we know ( you know the very political GoT to the very fantasy/more epic GoT, just my opinion and the way I see it) Overall, no season of GoT is a bad season it’s just some are better than others.
@@blandersummer Of course I didn't enjoy the sand snakes. I don't think they were as bad as some people are making out, probably because they had hardly any screen time. Iv seen the Simpsons, Family Guy, Doctor Who and Walking Dead turn from classics to mockeries of their former selves. There have only been two TV shows that have stayed consistent for their entire run… Breaking Bad and Spartacus.

I never understood why Stannis needed more men to move on from Castle Black to take Winterfell.
He literally JUST ran through the entire hundred thousand strong Army of Wildlings like, "piss through snow," lol you'd think they'd be more than ready to continue South and roll over Winterfell next.
Winterfell is a century old fortress, built to withstand sieges. The entire point is to sit inside where it's warm while the inhospitable climate kills all your men.

I just got caught up with the books and while I heard that dorne was done way better there than in the show, I thought I would be bored. But I actually did like it a lot, especially arianne trying to elevate mersyella so now I get the hate for the show's version. Elaria being is the complete opposite in terms of character and motivation

I always thought they would wait until 2019. To be honest i hope they only do teasers like the last trailer with the dragonstone map with the fire and ice thing. Trailers give away too much now a days. They dont need to hype up the season with a trailer. The hype level is already turned up to 11 so i want them to not give away anything in trailers. Like the last terminator that let you know john connor was turned into a terminator... yup big twist in the trailer. So lame. A GoT example was an entertainment weekly preview had pictures of the starks, and you could see arya had the catspaw dagger on her hip so that was spoiled by that. The trailer last year showed unsullied attacking a castle with lannister lion banners so you could tell that casterly rock was gonna get attacked. And damn this comment got a lil long

I've said it before, This kick 32:16 is nothing compared to the pain Theon received from Ramsay. It's a walk-in-the-park for him. So, NO, he's not going to feel it quite the same as other would. Which I believe is going to be his saving grace when he deals with Euron in Season 8.

Storm of Swords was truly a great book. I discovered all the books right when ASoS came out, so I basically binged all 3. Halfway through Storm, I was like, “This is fucking incredible. I have never read any fantasy like this. There’s NEVER been a fantasy book like this...This has changed the fucking game.”
From that point on, I couldn’t stop recommending these books to anyone who’d listen. I got really annoyed with the ones who wouldn’t read them, or tried, but couldn’t get past the 1st chapter, wanting to talk about the show cause suddenly they were all into it. Like, dude-I told you about this shit 8 years ago. I gave you the 1st book & you said you didn’t like it, now you want to talk about it cause it’s on television?? Fuck off...

Jamie had the best character development of season 3 and his storyline was way more interesting than Danys. I'd also say Arya was season 4 MVP her storyline in the riverlands was great and the season ends with her as the final shot

Imagine how cool it would have been if this had happened: Arya sails for Braavos, the scene cuts to black, the audience thinks the episode is over, and then Merrett Frey pops up and Lady Stoneheart is revealed.

My favorite thing about rewatching GoT episodes is knowing where people end up in the later seasons. The Hound going North is so weird when you look at him next to Joffrey or Davos ending up as Jon's biggest supporter.

Sure but I always took the scene to be a criticism of Dany destroying an entire economic system and not even attempting to replace it with something else. Naive doesn’t even cover it.
What do we know of the lives of the freed slaves? Homelessness and surviving on aid. And weirdly Dany thinks this is enough. The show never suggests Dany is plotting the build a better future for these displaced citizens.
I also found it odd that Dany didn’t like that slaves might be rehired to do their old jobs. What did she want for the slaves if not jobs, wages, self-sufficiency? It’s a show that revels in complexity. This oversight is frustrating. It wouldn’t have to have been a focus, could have been vaguely hinted at in the background. Oh I don’t know.
I feel so bad for the Wildlings though, Mance just wanted them to be safe in the Winter! I think Jon would end up accepting the deal, if Stannis didn't screw everything up of course

18:00 I think that the color pallet for Essos was brighter and more colorful than the duller pallet for the North in Westros. That's why the dragons colors look more muted now.

Ok I'm a bit late on this but I don't think Theon isn't hurt when he's kicked in the middle I think he just doesn't care about the pain like, he's like 'yeah nothing here man.' and I think he grins because of his opponent's reaction. He's suffered so much more before, both physically and emotionally, he just doesn't care. It's a symbol. His greatest weakness is now his greatest strenght.

It used to say "this episode is dark and filled with spoilers" that always bugged me cuz it would make more sense as "this episode is dark and full of spoilers"... ok i went back and looked and i didnt even notice they changed it S3 E10. I made a comment about it S3E8 and they didnt do a spoiler warning for E9 so they change it after my comment. So im claining credit for it. I helped fix the intro and helped fox his N64(at least the new power cord should have fixed it) so youre welcome internet.

Tywin in the book comes across as a real asshole because we can only see him through the eyes of other characters. The show's portrayal of Tywin is a brilliant step-up, with him being put opposite of Arya, giving him a depth, an obsession with the family's legacy and name, how it functions as both his source of strength and weakness, and not to mention his interactions with Olenna...Really, really good stuff.

Tyrion is not a sidekick. Him joining Dany is just the beginning of the major players meeting up so face off against the Night King. I admit the story isn't the best but in S6 Tyrion wasn't a sidekick in S7 he played a vital role in Dany's invasion even though a lot of his moves where what Cersie expected him to do.
Well I found this channel a week ago and have watched every episode. Love what you guys do and fully agree that you should redo seasons 6&7, you’ll have totally new perspectives. Keep up the great work gents.

The reason Arya didn't kill the Hound is that her crossing him off her list via mercy killing would be too narratively satisfying.
