10:35 Jaime isn’t refusing milk of the poppy because he wants to savour the pain, he’s refusing because he doesn’t trust Qyburn. He fears that if he takes it, Qyburn will take the arm. A lot of what the maesters do is without the consent of the patient, and right here Qyburn has admitted to experimenting without consent. Jaime wants to be fully conscious so he can make sure he doesn’t take the arm.
Well also addiction to milk of the poppy is a big risk. Just like the opium plant which it's inspired after, it numbs the pain but it can have some grueling side effects.
From the ASOIAF wiki:
"Milk of the poppy also has an incapacitating effect, "filling your head with clouds", even after the user has woken from sleep.
Because of this, and possibly because it is also addictive or because overuse causes tolerance, some prefer to go through strong pain instead of consuming it. Overuse of milk of the poppy may make the user's face become puffy."

the Jaime Tub scene is my favorite GoT scene ever. Cause it's the most real GoT scene while it links reality and fantasy in such a vivid manner. Like a page from a sacred book. And the way it incorporates GoT mythology from the mouth of an active participant is groundbreaking.

Jon not killing Melisandre is different because of the time that had passed between when it happened and when he found out, also she had literally just brought him back from the dead so he kind of owed her a life.
Ashley Coonfield Melisandre also didn't kill northern men and out right defy her king like Karstark did his treachery was such an act of defiance

Every time I re-watch thrones, this episode always stands up there with the elite. So many incredible moments, the hound fight, Jon and ygritte, jaimies turn to a likable character. It genuinely doesn't get much better

I just wanted to say that Jamie refused milk of the poppy not because he wanted to savor the pain, but because if he was to be unconscious he would have no control over Qyburn amputating his arm. He wanted to stay awake to supervise the procedure and not allow anything against his will.
I got into a drunken screaming match with a guy at a party last night over the Martell and the Baratheon words. He was sure that the Baratheon's were "unbowed unbent unbroken" so much that it just ended with me screaming "OURS IS THE FURY" over and over until I had to be dragged off. Unrelated to the video, just thought it was a fun anecdote. These notifications make my week.

I disagree... I think he didn't take it because he wanted to PAY FOR HIS CRIMES. he suddenly was aware of the kind of person he had been. And knows he has skated through life and any punishments. He is not sadistic... but he needed to know the pain he had inflicted on so many others. I think he was filled with guilt, shame, and he wanted to be punished by the NEW JAMIE. And he needed to feel BRAVE again. To prove to himself that was still a brave man, unafraid and fearless. Even with only 1 hand.

biggest problem i had with robb is that he was being pretty hypocritical.
He claims "How can we get justice if we don't serve justice to treason in my own ranks"
yet he went against his honor to marry talissa. If he was willing to go against his word for love, he should be willing to go against his word/his honor for the sake of the war. Biggest mistake he ever made was marrying talissa, but the second biggest mistake was killing karstark.

A bit about lighting swords on fire. It is a really bad idea. Making a sword is pretty complex. It comes down to several stages. Shaping, hardening, tempering, and sharpening. Hardening and tempering have to be done just right and reheating the blade could affect its hardness and durability by modifying the molecular structure of it. The end result would be that the edge would dull faster and it would be easier to snap under stress.
The bath scene with Brienne is def in top 10 scenes of the show.
Shireen deserves a leading role asap! That actress is amazing and played that role almost too perfectly! The casting on this show is decades beyond its time!

i think the unsullied names make a lot more sense in the bookss, since they were not allowed to have names for themselves and everyday they were given a sign with a name on it and everyday that name changes, so grey worm was not called greyworm the day befor he was freed by daenerys

Barristan had a great moment in the books similar to Jaime, Aerys was captured in duskendale and barristan snuck in and rescued him.. He became insane and paranoid after that, and barristan thinks how it would have turned out if he didn't save him, rhaegar becomes king and things turn out way differently
