I know it's not for a while, but you mentioning the Sept getting blown up got me thinking. It really always bothered me that there were no consequences for Cersai essentially blowing up the equivalent of the Vatican. Not to mention how many civilians were killed in the process kings landing should be on the brink in season 7.
Yeah, assuming the wildfire didn't spread and destroy King's Landing outright, there should have been riots in the street. She wouldn't have even been able to send the guards to suppress them, because half the guards would have been rioting. They probably went to that sept, too. Even people who only ever pay lip service to their religion would probably be pretty deeply infuriated if someone blew up the centerpiece of their belief. Frankenmountain is pretty tough, and could probably deal with 10 revolting guards. 20 in a pinch. But an entire mob would probably be able to get through him. Cersei is just too hated to be queen.

Ser Barristan dies in the show really pathetic and a good waste of a character. In the books ser Barristan is leading the defense against the siege of Meereen.
If I remember, G RR tweeted about being very upset about a character death that happened in the show, who would be very much alive in the books, around the time that episode aired.
If they really wanted to get rid of him this season, they should have done so during the attack in the fighting pits. Then he'd at least go out protecting his queen, like a Kingsguard knight should.
It was purely a shock factor kill and I hated it. Not only is Barristan still alive in the books, it made no sense in the context of the overall shows story... Such a waste.

I completely forgot that Barristan died in this episode until you brought it up, then I got pissed off and had to pause the video for a while. The man is Hand of the Queen to Daenerys right now in the books, and I'm hoping he at least makes it back to Westeros before dying. There are alot of dumb shit that D&D did over the seasons, but this is the one that I just don't understand at all.
It isn't far-fetched for Littlefinger to have been at the Inn at the Crossroads. After he challenged Brandon Stark he was sent packing by Hoster Tully. That's a long journey home and the Inn would be along the way. Also the timeline works. Rhaegar and Lyanna didn't run away from the tourney at Harrenhal. It had to be some time afterward because Rhaegar went back to Dragonstone first. And remember the tourney was during a false spring. Bad weather kept everyone where they were for a while. Once the weather broke Rhaegar went west again. Lyanna was still in the Riverlands. Littlefinger was moving east and could have been in the right place at the right time. We shouldn't overlook the role the Inn has played as the setting of major current and past events in the main books. The same inn is featured in the tales of Dunk and Egg. Big things happen there, and Littlefinger seeing or overhearing something about Rhaegar and Lyanna could be one of those things. There's a lot we don't know but what we do know and can speculate about isn't tinfoil.
It's really no surprise that Stannis suspected Jon's parentage. He's always depicted as one of the most intelligent men in Westeros. In the show it's kinda played off jokingly where he's always correcting grammar, but in the books at least he figured out Geoff and Tom were incest children all on his own without Ned's help.
Its so sad what they did with Ser Baristan in this episode!! He deserved so much better. I just recently saw an interview with the actor who plays him where he says he tried to plead his case to D&D , but in the end dumb and dumber just didn't want to keep him alive any longer 😭

I thought that Unsullied got their reputation because of their discipline, not individual combat skill. Isn't it implied in the books that discipline(and numbers) win battles?

The worst part about the Sand Snakes is that I know why they wanna avenge their dad, but they come off as unjust because Oberyns death was entirely his fault. He chose to be Tyrions champion willingly, he knew the risk going in and he lost because he wanted to goad a confession out of Tywin in front of everyone. Yet the Sank Snakes blame the Lannisters for his death and kill Oberyns family either for no reason or because they're too stupid to apply any level of critical thinking.
PR0MAN01 I really hated ellaria after she killed Myrcella. Not only did oberyn choose to defend Tyrion, but oberyn also made a point of saying “we don’t hurt little girls in Dorne”

Barristan died like that to exemplify the unfairness and cruelty of life. You can do so much good, and be such an honorable and great fighter, and one mistake and one little detour can destroy everything. That is my explanation of the death, and it helps me accept it.

Unpopular opinion, but I didn’t mind Ser Barristan’s death scene. The music was great and we got to see him fight, unlike the Blackfish. Yes I would’ve loved to have seen more of him, and maybe he could’ve been given a more noble end, but considering what happened with other characters as the seasons went on (cough Stannis, Littlefinger cough) I think he got off lightly
I will say this at least Barristan Selmy went out fighting instead of dying from a polar bear bite and not getting the chance to die fighting. Actually, this is the first time we see Barristan Selmy fighting and this is in his old age, makes me wonder just how good he was in his prime. But still, terrible way to end his story-arc.

A cut just behind the neck and down the belly will be a good start. I will say this at least Barristan Selmy went out fighting instead of dying from a polar bear bite and not getting the chance to die fighting. Actually, this is the first time we see Barristan Selmy fighting and this is in his old age, makes me wonder just how good he was in his prime. But still, terrible way to end his story-arc.

I used to often eat rattlesnake when I lived in Tucson Arizona. The venom Is only in the head. Venom glands reside just under the eyes or towards the back of the jawline. A cut just behind the neck and down the belly will be a good start. After that just pull the intestinal track and the rest of the organs out before pulling the skin off and cleaning it with some water gives you a good meal.

I'm not 100% on the specific composition of snake venom, let alone venom for a specific species, but venom can't cause harm unless it has direct contact with the bloodstream
These are my favorite breakdowns on TH-cam. I am really going to miss them once you finish Season 5(although I have watched them all several times). Ned got done just as dirty when he was fighting jaime. I like to think in retrospect that the look on ned's face when that guard stabbed his leg from behind reflected his memory of Howland stabbing Dayne the same way.
