Hardhome is definitely up there as far as how many times I've either gone online or looked at my own copies to just want to look at a couple specific sequences from a given episode. From the moment Jon and Thormund arrive on the shore all the way up to the attack, god I love watching that.
Also though while I'm here, I love you Nerd Soup boys, but it's pronounced "pickt-chure", not "pidd-cher" lol

@Mel*of*Winterfell oh hells yeah, because in that moment you've got BOTH characters that are shocked to hell at what happened. Jon swinging his sword on pure instinct, not knowing it would actually kill the thing. Which makes me think, not that I suppose it would matter all that much, but I wonder the possibility that the White Walkers know that Valerian steel would actually be a useful, fatal weapon against them, this one just didn't necessarily recognize the sword Jon was carrying of being made of it.
Also the first time I watched Hardhome I remember wondering if that looming fog itself would turn humans into wights, but I guess it's just more that that's the atmosphere they always carry with them, but it doesn't ITSELF necessarily do anything.

I don't think I could ever sympathize with cersei, doesn't matter what happens to her. It's not really a redemption arc either because she doesn't become a better person, just more bitter and hateful.
Agreed. Didn't really sympathize with Cersei with everything she has done and this wasn't a redemption arc because she didn't get redeemed, she just got worst

I actually enjoyed seeing the Sand Snakes interact with eachother as sisters and learn the personalities in this episode a bit. It made me like them some.
I think they would have been a bit better received by the fans if moments like this were placed at the beginning of the Dorne plot to humanize them and make them more relatable.

I'd totally watch a full length Nerd Soup movie, or some 30 minute cartoons in an anthology format, where you guys are sitting at your table telling animated stories about your lives or something! lol Love these vids! You guys crack me up! I look forward to these vids so much! Love it!

5:10 I'm trying to think how many times I'd watched this episode before I realized Theon did NOT go all the way to the top of that tower (with the original intent on trying to help Sansa) and that Ramsey was just sitting there waiting for him because he knew they'd try something like that. That instead he just took it to Ramsey in his normal chambers, that he ratted her out immediately. It was at least a couple.
Finally. And the name of the episode is fitting for the day.

Doughnut Lover good thing about re-reviewing is that they’ll have a new perspective on episodes. I went into their Beyond the Wall review for season 7 and they were calling it one of the best episodes. That’s definitely changed based on their references to that season. I’d like to see their take on it again. Also, the other people in those older reviews are kind of annoying
I'm really hoping they rereview them. Just so different rewatching them as part of this long binge of the show.

The high sparrow absolutely DID have ulterior motives, but nobody knew it except the audience. We were blatantly shown that he was a liar, by the way that he told two contradicting stories to explain his bare feet. the show never even attempted to explain what those motives were, and neither have the books. And I LOVE that. People do weird shit for weird reasons. People who just read books, are used to everyone's motives being laid out in black and white. The big advantage of visual media, is that you can make people think in a different way. You can just show them a character having normal interactions, and have them try to predict what's going to happen, based on their existing social skills. We don't need to know the full story of every character. We don't need to be told what they think or what they're trying to do. Having main characters who ultimately serve no purpose as far as the main plot is concerned, is a GOOD thing.
We don't always know the character's motivations in the books that's what's great about George's writing. All chapters are POV and quite often the narrators are unreliable themselves, garbled thoughts, lying to themselves, we get snippets of information but rarely black and white like you stated. Many characters are still a complete mystery and many don't have any POV chapters so we have no idea what they think except from their conversations with other POV characters. You're assuming something about the books that's not true.
so its safe to say everyone Is in favor of the redo of season 6 and 7

I like the theory of Bronn coming in to save her life at the last minute, but really just for the notion of us getting to see her again. Story-wise, logistically it would make zero sense, I mean the absolute most one could survive after being dosed with that particular poison is MAYBE a couple days, yeah? Hell in each case we've seen it used so far it was maybe a few hours at most before you reached the point where you absolutely had to have the antidote. If anything between those two, it'd be more likely the mother was still alive by the time Bronn or anybody else would get down there.
But goddamn if that sand snake isn't one of the most naturally beautiful women I've ever seen (you know you must be gorgeous if Colleen Wing ain't even the hottest sister lol... but hey that's just me).

I always thought it was odd that Stannis agreed to kill the only heir to the throne. It's not like he's swimming in children. I mean, what's the point of winning a throne for just yourself and having no one to leave it to.
Depending on intepreatation he either did it to save westeros or deluded himself into thinking he was doing it for westeros and Was a selfish man who wanted power.
He genuinely believed the world would end (and thus his daughter would die anyways) if he didn’t sacrifice her. He had no reason to doubt milesandras magic at that point either. He’d seen her magic come to fruition several times before by that point

I agree with you!! Yes, Daenerys kills her enemies, this is medieval times, and also war!! People act like these guys could be taken to jail (as if there was any), or to a judge, not even send them into exile is an option. Ned Stark showed mercy and allowed his enemies to live, and we know how that ended. Judging Dany's actions as a ruler by today's standars is just not right!

I have never rooted for Cersei personally, she is such a spiteful person and, as the Sparrow arc shows and as Tywin said, she is not as smart as she thinks. Completely selfish, toxic and hateful person. She absolutely deserved her fate and more, honestly.

We needed a lot more of Jon as Lord Commander and Alliser as First Ranger. The hateful respect they have for each other is normally only seen between the hero and the villain in stories. To see them having to work together was fun. It would have been great if Jon had become Lord Commander before the Wildling attack and had to command Alliser during the fight.

Holy shit, I had never felt so angry at anything as I felt for Cersei and the High Sparrow in this episode(and season), when she got arrested was the most satisfying moment in the series lol

I think the burning in the book will be the reverse. It will be Selyse who burns Shireen, and maybe over time this weighs down on Stannis who eventually hangs himself after multiple failures.
