Good information.... but isn't Björn getting wackier by each video? I hope it's not an unknown side effect of driving electric
Maybe... along with a Tesla smile you can be giddy knowing you can always drive such relaxing advanced tech then realizing testing the Mercedes it's a fine electric car in it's niche despite the looks of the exterior.
He is having fun and ultimately, being happy with new and exciting stuff! I enjoy his shennanigans, brings a smile to my face. Keep the child-like enthusiasm Bjorn. (Secretly envy him)
I bought my EPC after watching this video. I've had it for 6 months and have to say it is the best car I've owned in its class. Fast, comfortable, silent and tech is a joy. Personal favourite feature: adaptive LED matrix lights.
Wow, the efficiency is almost as good as my Tesla Model S 70D! Bjorn's test showed about 310 Wh/mi, and the 70D was EPA rated at 292 Wh/mi. Pretty close, especially considering the EQC has a higher profile, possibly heavier, and the weather or elevation changes might have driven up the energy consumption a bit. His calculated range of 261 miles exceeds my 70D's EPA rated range of 240 miles. (The 75D has 259 miles of EPA range; neither the 70D nor the 75D is available any more.) I may have to take a serious look at this car once it becomes available in the US.
Impressive and good test. Unfortunately not all drivers drive that slow. They are missing speed. But even with higher speeds seems cheaper than with Diesel.
This car refutes all that prejudice that an EV on ICE platform could never be that good. I also didn't expect this win. Next time we should wait for the street results before bashing newly announced cars in advance. The engineers seem to have implemented so many optimizations we all coudn't see from outside. Now we all have the wide choice whether we want performance, range, style, space, luxury... 2019 will be remembered as the marker year when a broad range of high class EVs hit the market. In about 2025 we will have a large market full of desirable classy used EVs everyone can afford.
Really good shit. I have been nudging my friend to go electric and he mentioned Mercedes ... I mentioned this one. Glad it is in the top running for range.

It is not just for test comparison it is also that you equal out the wind as much as possible.
That's actually commendable since Mercedes openly stated the EQC to be using the same platform as the ICE GLC & GLE, yet is somehow manages to go further on a SMALLER battery pack than the purpose built Jaguar I-Pace and the bigger battery Audi e-tron.
Yes! Then he should borrow a Taycan and see what the autobahn range is ... 160mph, pegged all the way! (Not that kind of pegged, I’m sure Bjorn isn’t for that!)
Bjorn has done that as well, check out his live stream trip to Frankfurt. It is about 240-270wh/km at 120-130km/h GPS speeds in autumn weather conditions. So roughly the same as Model X, maybe a bit better.
Getting my EQC AMG spec next week and looking very much forward to it. I ordered it with the fat 21 inch wheels with 235/255 f/r tyres, interesting to see whether they have a significantly negative impact on range. They certainly look great!
I have been experimenting with range in my one month old UK Model 3 standard edition and been easily achieving 185wh per MILE. that equates to about 115wh per km. The range estimator tells me I should get about 270 miles from a 50kwh battery - around 435km. I always have been a conservative driver though.
+Bjorn Nyland Seen you have always tested standard exterior EQC. Officially, there seems to be an 7% efficiency advantage by using AMG Line, AMG 19“ rims and the footstep boards. Would you agree with that based on your experience?
Agreed, but the Kia goes from A to B just like the Merc. It does it at half the price and consuming 25% less energy. So, yes you can not compare these cars........
@@Sigma33sailor : I agree with you and I personally would opt for E Niro any day. But when we talk about EV revolution, we have to talk about inclusive approach.
