    1) You can set the elevation to be shown in the navigation - just a setting
    2) If you set the recuperation to zero (Gliding mode) you have lower energy consuption and only use the paddels if you need to decelerate.

      Good point which most People dont understand: Every energy conversion (electrical into kinetic or vice versa) is subject to losses....One Pedale driving may be a good solution within the city but not on long distance travel

    Hi Kris , great video , I'm wondering what you think of the eqc? I currently own a volvo s90 t8 and thinking of a eqc premium plus for my next car

    I have an EQC and depending on weather and whether you have the ac running, the average consumption is 25 kW/100 km. That’s the realistic range.

    Hi Kris!!!
    Great video!!!
    Although the usual tests, give a fair way to compare all EV's, it's on trips like this, that you can really see what a car can achieve in real life conditions.
    Such is as most of us, just use a car for daily commute and then for relaxed weekend or vacation trips.
    Again, great work and keep strong on it!!!

    How have you played with the regen levers?In any case I would say Max autonomy of 440 Km for the EQC, with a consumption of 18 kwh/100, if you go quiet and steady at 80-90 km/h. And agree, very comfortable to travel.

    Not sure, but I think you had chosen the wrong plug. You can see the Chademo plug, the one you were using for charging and a second CCS with a big 150kW sign on top of it.
    I would have chosen the second ccs plug.
    BTW, nice road trip! It feels a little bit like the Alps. And that car dead silent!
    Great job!

    Mkt bra video, sakligt och bra. Vad är ditt omdöme om bilen, vissa säger att komforten och kvalitet till och med är bättre än i e-tron. Svårt för dig att vara objektiv, men vad tycker du🙂?

    ABRP claims 14% on a EQC from Eidfjord to Voss, so I am sure you would have reached Voss. There even is a bail-out charger at Granvin and also some charges a few km before Voss. Yes, I know, with kids on the trip you do not push car's range limit.
    A great trip vid. with EQC, one of the best EVs in this class only missing a little battery size/range, strangely enough often underrated by EV customer. This EQC seems to be very special, this is not any standard Mercedes paint ?

    You drive in "D" but you can drive in "D+"for more km's/miles, recuperation ... When you drive in local streets is a different, when you drive on autoroute you have 23/25 KWh by 125 km/u

    They should update the EQC with the newer EQB and EQA motors and inverter. The EQB has 66 kWh battery but it has similar WLTP range as the EQC. The EQB is also less aerodynamic so please Merc do it.

    • @tural313
      @tural313 ปีที่แล้ว

      Dont forget EQC is 4 matic, which is consuming more energy than EQA and EQB

    Can you transport a baby front-facing on the front seat in Norway? I don’t think that’s safe or legal, Kris. Nice video. All the best.

    • @KrisRifa
      @KrisRifa  3 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      She’s not a baby, she’s is three years old. From 9kgs (one year old) you are allowed to have children front facing, but are recommended to have them rear facing as long as possible though. For a trip this long having your child front facing is more practical for the driver, making the trip more safe as well as less motion sickness 😊

    • @MortenB0
      @MortenB0 3 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Not a child so small a special seat is needed so this is perfectly safe, I have more doubt on safety eating at Mc Donald

      I think the risk comes form the airbag. Even for a 4-year-old. Just saying.

    • @KrisRifa
      @KrisRifa  3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @@filipesantiago2182 you have to turn of the airbag in cars that don’t do this automatically. The EQC does this automatically 😊

    We've got an EQC - there's no way it will do that distance! Just about to carry on watching...
    And you are running it in Comfort mode rather than Eco!!

    • @lauriemiles1842
      @lauriemiles1842 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You need to alter the regen as well - D mode has the least regen - you needed D- or D-- coming down from the peak to max out the regen

    • @lauriemiles1842
      @lauriemiles1842 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Gang Lin We've got an EQC, and I can confirm that changing the regen makes a real difference to the electricity consumption. Downhill there would have been a significant recuperation on D- or D--
      My wife has been driving the EQC more recently, and improved her consumption from 2.2 to 2.8 miles/kWh by more selective use of Eco mode and increased regen.

      Ok i did not know that. I know that you have to have GPS in order to get altimeter and i have got that in mine Peugeot, Toyota, Ford mustang, Mercedes CLS that did have GPS but no Altimeter.

    *EV's are for the Future - as in 2050+ Maybe - until then will run my B200CDi AMG Diesel Blue Tech - up to 85.6 MPG (UK Gallon) and very Cleaned up emissions and no Range Anxiety ! It takes very little energy to keep a vehicle moving at 55 mph [85kph] on the level, and none at all downhill !*
