I apologize to everyone involved for just how late this video was. A mixture of IRL scheduling and me underestimating the size of this project (and the video that came before), led to everything getting delayed tremendously. Nonetheless, thanks for partaking everyone who submitted!
Really like this format, so many talented people in your community and it’s really cool to see such a range of styles. I gotta say the original of that final model was already really freaking good. Nothing against the modeler who did the rework (which was of course fantastic), but to me it ended up being two very talented artists takes on the same character rather than a strict upgrade (like it clearly was for the other 9 models in this vid).
Amazing video as always! The wheel almost landed on my name a couple of times. The Mother of Spores looks very intimidating, and Halite the Rock star looks awesome!
I really liked the factor that other people also reworked some of these models it brought my attention to people that I wouldn't have if not for this video I really hope that it happens again at least once
One day, one day I will appear in one of your videos, stay tuned. I'm always impressed with some minis that are made on the server, complexity and placement, it really surprises me. And this giant mecka got 50/10 quality. That trick you tried to do in the first mini, the warforged face positioned to be a mask, how do you do it without the nose sticking out and the eyes showing?
I fell like the model of the giant with the Axe and the red Lightning would have been a Way better match for the guy who did the wizard but they both still turned out great
Tjena! Quick question, and hopefully my last. How does this double layering of characters work when printed? Some files, especially CAD-files, tend to not smoothly, or at all, blend together and just have the outer layers sit like a shell over it.
It's a very bombastic concept - huge battle muscleman at the same time as it's a rock-star, with all kindsa tattoos and body paints and shoulders and cloaks and etc etc etc Not only do you have to do a LOT in terms of sheer quantity to pull off that concept, but it's also very niche and eccentric, in the sense that I don't know if many of us are wannabe Rockstars IRL hahah. And on that note, it's also a concept most of us had likely never tried before, as most of us tend to make generic fantasy/sci-fi models, not music stars
I will come out of this knowing you are Swedish, "Skit bra video hur some helst" (i live in Sweden so always fun to find Scandinavians as a Norwegian/Swedish person)
Hi and welcome! The rib-cage trick is done by overlapping two separated models ontop of each other. It is a feature that is currently in Beta and is only available to HF Pro users currently. Basically, the second overlapping model is the one with the ribcage that is placed ontop of the primary model
Question. The list of names you pull from for these videos. Are they including names and submissions from previous videos or is it a whole new set of names and submissions per video?
@@Derfholm Gotcha. Also, just thought of another one. I noticed you only ever work with human type characters. Are you against working with more monstrous designs like Dragonborn or Minotaurs or things like that?
@@matthewscorner2990 For starters, the options for non-humanoids in HF are not great, unless you make custom races like the Mother of Spores at the end of this video - so I don't think it's a great character-creator for non-humans. HOWEVER, there are some really creative & fun techniques that I really should put to use more in order to make cool non-human characters, like when I made a chonky little rat-person, or when I made the little robot for the Star Wars build - BUT The REAL answer to all this is; I enjoy fairly gritty low fantasy, so I personally enjoy making human characters, therefore it's what I do most. But I got a video planned for non-humanoid things coming up in the future.
@@Derfholm I REALLY appreciate the detailed answer. I have a Dragonborn monk and a Lizardfolk rogue I'm contemplating submitting for your next video reworking our models to just see what you can do. I also have a human sorcerer, but he has the same "secretly a dragon" backstory that two others on your channel have been. A golden dragon who polymorphed into a human (because according to the lore, they just really enjoy doing that), but was cursed by some outside force to be unable to change back, so his adventure would be trying to figure out what happened and how to reverse it. Side note, regarding that steel dragon disguised as an elf you redid one time, steel dragons actually haven't been introduced to 5e yet, but according tk the lore, they spend their entire lives as humans, living out normal human lives from start to finish, making a piece of art that represents what they learned, forgetting that life, living a new one, and continuing on and on until they themselves are ready to die, where they go to sleep for two years and remember vividly every detail of all the lives they lived while their contact within the human world is tasked with spreading the art it made and built up as its hoard around for the world to see and learn from. Then it dies. They also never actually reveal themselves to truly be dragons, unlike most other species of dagons. I know this has nothing to do with anything, I just really have been invested in the dragon lore for DnD lately and I just thought of it. On a sloghtly more relevant note, I also JUST got myself a yearly subscription to Pro, so I'm still figuring out how that works and how best to utilize it. Best I came up with was a well lit piece for by sorcerer and my Dragonborn and Lizardfolk fighting each other. I think my version might not work properly either because I can't to any extra arm exploits. I can't click on them to pose them. Whenever I click on a section of an extra arm to pose, it just clicks on that section of the main arm.
@@matthewscorner2990 Go for it! I'm always open to challenges when I do the Rework videos - also, congratulations on Pro, you'll find it's hard to go without it soon!

Yeah, my design is a cross between Ghost from MW, A ring wraith from LOTR, and Ezio Auditore from Assassin's creed. I love ezio's outfit style, the armor from the ring wraiths, and ghost's mask and attitude.
I'm afraid I very rarely have the time to look at and touch people's models individually as I get a lot of requests for that on a daily basis- However, I can occasionally give advice, and what is probably more helpful is that in our Discord server we have a dozen of really good modeleers who are always willing to help people out, so if you join the server and ping @ Heroforge Pro Helper, then you'll find a lot of people ready to help out as well
That should absolutely not be the case - you're not the first person to say that whose name I have found in the list, so tell me what your name on Discord was and also what your model's name was, and I'll go and doublecheck the list to see if it's there and then get back to you!

I like Reaper’s rework, it was very well done.
In all seriousness, all of us did fantastic jobs! I feel slightly outshined by everyone else, however.

Yes! I am working on an upcoming one - not too far from the themes you're suggesting actually

The one where they add new two figures on one base for non-pro people, new mounts, customizable familiars, and kitbashing.
Only 125 entries? Only a year and we are easily beating that
