    This is awesome man! I always use my Lumix S5 for photos but have frequently thought about how my bmpcc 6k would do. Cool to see you out there creating with this great camera. Keep It up 🤟

    Unless the rolling shutter is improved in still mode, I just don’t see the point. Just shoot short motion clips and get in camera review, and superior temporal noise reduction when you need it. Anyway good vid, I enjoyed watching

    • @SolidBlueBlocks
      @SolidBlueBlocks 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      You can EASILY get rid of the rolling shutter in Davinci resolve with 2 clicks.
      In the inspector, go to stabilisation, put it on camera gyro (camera&Resolve must be updated), push the slider to 0 (not -anything, just plain 0), and click stabilize. Finished!

    It is a very interesting experience to take stills with a "cine" camera. Using a cine lens for stills is also funny. One thing not to scoff at though is the inbuilt ND filters in the BMP6K Pro.

    The stills come out as CDNG files don't they so surely those are easy to edit in Lightroom and provide a lot of latitude.

    • @danielwcunningham
      @danielwcunningham  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      They do have a lot of data to work off of as they are basically raw files, they just felt very different went trying to get the look I usually get from Sony raws and other still cameras.

  • @123jonkey
    @123jonkey ปีที่แล้ว +5

    It'd be great to take more stills with my BMPCC6k but the stills button is so unreliable, I usually have to press it 2-4 times before a still is actually taken and even after that there's only a small indication on the HUD that shows it was taken, which means I can't get rid of the HUD to see the whole frame.

    For someone who never owned a BMPCC (or used any Blackmagic stuff), what's so difficult about the editing workflow? Does it not output RAW images like other cams? This hasn't been mentioned in the video.

    • @danielwcunningham
      @danielwcunningham  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Well to start it isn't really a stills camera so you cant review your stills in camera. You have to offload it and look at them. After that it's normal workflow as you would with raw images from any camera. The files do color grade differently than other raw images but it's basically the same. Just cumbersome!

    It would have been good if you included the actual image specifications (resolution, DPI, file type) and how to get the best stills-image quality, like how this guy did: th-cam.com/video/HBJ3Rri9yMc/w-d-xo.html. Just looking at your graded shots over TH-cam doesn't really help determine if the photos from the BMPCC is actually acceptable to be considered "photos" and if they also can be printed.
