*It may have had a seriously outdated roster upon release but playing as Bret Hart in 3D will always bring back fond memories!* Who was your favourite wrestler on WWF Warzone?
This a very fair assessment of the game. Problem we have nowadays, is because of what we've had since, it's easy to rip this one apart but at the time, it was brilliant for PS1 owners... Until we went round a friend's house to pay WWF on their N64s... 😂
As someone who was a huge wrestling fan back then and still is today when wrestling games went 3D and started replicating the presentation we seen on TV it was such an exciting time to love both gaming and wrestling. I did play this on the N64 not the PlayStation though so missed out of the videos that played throughout it. Saying thay though it still had all of the commentary and speach and it was certainly a step above anything else at the time in terms of presentation. Saying that though I did have an N64 like I said and it paled in comparison to the two vastly superior WCW games that came out just before and after it. I think my biggest issue with it was the lack of a roster in comparison and the mortal kombat like moves still being there and it just didn't feel natural. It just couldn't compete in multiplayer either with most matches just feeling like button mashing unless you had memorised the moves. I was a bigger fan of the WWF at the time but it really pained me that WCW had the better games and me and my brother often dreamed of the makers ofbthe WCW games on the N64 making WWF game and then they did and it was pretty much the only time I ever dreamed up a game that actually came true. One thing I will say is Acclaim was very much pushing all of there games to be high resolution at the time and they really did look great it's just sad many of them suffered in both gameplay and performance issues as a result.
I remember really loving this game back in the day. But nowadays, it hasn't aged well sadly. It's clunky and a slog to play through compared to modern wrestling games. But back then I had fun playing it. I really loved the Create-A-Wrestler mode. I was a real wrestling fan(and still am) so I was stoked to play this game when it came out 26 years ago. The follow up, WWF Attitude, was the same thing but with more features.
The controls weren't all that complicated except for finishers which you really had to memorise. But the game had the usual Acclaim slugishness to it. What I appreciated were the hidden moves, and the fact that every single move had its own counter.
I grew up with the N64 version, that one has a royal rumble mode I thought both Warzone and Attitude were good games (for it's time) I still enjoy them , although I know I'm usually alone with that opinion. Of course the AKI games were miles better, but I enjoy Acclaims offerings
Akklaim melked the this outdated and user-unfriendyl game-engine at least 4 times: two WWF games and two ECW games, I not sure if it has even been used in UFC Game and it was somehow the basis for Wrestling Legends on the PS2. Very bad! WCW Mayhem was better, but WWF Smackdown was right down from the start superior!

Who was your favourite wrestler on WWF Warzone?
Absolutely, and it must be one of the only WWF games with Owen in it too?
@@danthegamingmanYT He was in WWF Attitude too, aswell as WWF Raw and WWF In Yoiur House!

I assume you mean Wrestlemania 2000 or WWF No Mercy? Expect those to be covered in the coming weeks!

Played the crap outta the N64 version of this game back in the day!
@BlusViews My friend had it on N64 too!

@alexanderryan9456 I still had enjoyment playing this for the review! It may be clunky, but it is better than many other wrestling games still!
Controls had too much input.
Yeah they did, you can adjust to it though with time!

@Paolo_Pinkas747 by the time these ECW games came out, everyone absolutely slammed them!
