This game is still playable for the most part these days. The series evolved overtime but it was a solid foundation for whats to come. Nowadays Yukes moved on from WWE games and they recently made the AEW game. Anyway, I thought the create modes were very limited and the season mode was lackluster. But again it was the first time in the series and it took time for it to evolve.
If this was Smackdown 2, I'd probably agree with putting it above Revenge. Not that this game isn't good, but Smackdown 2 was everything this game was supposed to be (it even released within the same year), Smackdown 2 was such a stark improvement over almost every facet of this game that I never feel a need to come back to this one...whereas I replay Revenge quite regularly.
I was much like you and had to pretty much get all WWF games at the time. It was probably the first time two completely different WWF games that were released on different systems that were both must buys for the time. While Smackdown was much more arcade like and fast paced it still had an easy control system which meant pulling off moves didn't feel like you had to memorise anything like the Acclaim games. Not quite as good as WrestleMania 2000 for me for that year but it was still great fun and the presentation was just great too just surprised they went with music in the matches instead of commentary. The multiplayer is definitely frantic with 3 or 4 people though and a blast as a result.
*Who else laid the smackdown with this game back in 2000?*
I loved this game ! This and smack down 2 was so fun playing in my teen years , great memories
The game graphics giving me "Mortal Kombat" Sega Genesis vibes...that's not necessary a bad thing .....
😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
Hmm...that definitely didn't spring to mind for myself, especially as that is 2D and this is 3D..lol
I think WWF Smackdown and Smackdown 2 are 1 of the best Top 10 games to ever come out for Playstation.
@@mutechannel13 they're both great, definitely.
amazing video like
Thanks!

@TheViper4Life Smackdiwn 2 had one *huge* flaw though, that I will cover when I review it.
