I'm planning on boosting my m3 (s52) and before I'm starting I've been going through videos and reading forums but none have really gone over all the lines like you're starting to do , it's great to see someone explain in depth !! Thanks for everything bro I'm excited to watch future videos !
+AugieWithTheM3 thank you for your support! And I agree I've started these video series because I remember being lost trying to sift through forums and finding the best setup. I'm happy to spread the knowledge from my build and inspire future builds! Best wishes and good luck with your m3!
Thanks for making this video dude. Helps clear a couple things up for me on my turbo M50. Stealing your idea of the spare nipple on the turkey neck connector haha. I just ordered my Tial BOV and had to specify the vacuum spring but had no idea so I picked a 10 psi spring. What does your BOV use?
ThatGearheadMarek if I remember correctly I think I have a 12 psi spring. You can add some shims to it to raise the stiffness such that the BOV stays closed right until you release the throttle
Thanks for video! So I can connect vac/boost gauge either to the ICV line, like you did, or to the brake booster line, correct? Currently I am M52 NA, but thinking about FI by supercharging in future...
second like baby haha. this shouldnt be why I do this but hey.....I enjoy watching everyone's builds and seeing the 'real' mechanics of the car enthusiast world.
Pawinning well with the exhaust CCV you end up venting oil droplets into your exhaust right? Well could you put a catch can in the middle to collect the oil droplets before they make it to your exhaust? I would imagine this could protect a catylitic converter as well
Actually don't recall, but I did order an entire silicone hose replacement kit for the m50 engine off eBay and used which ever hoses in that kit to fit my needs. Went from everything from 1/4-3/4" if my memory is right 😅
I see you have a brace that supports the manifold. Did you purchase that or make it yourself? I have a cxracing manifold and might brace it just so there’s not much stress on it.
Hey man, If you don't mind me asking, what pound spring do you have in your BOV and do you have any issues with it opening? Has tapping into the break booster line been successful over time?
Just wondering with the CCV, what if you had it run to a catch can, then a check valve from the catch can to the elbow? (my silicone elbow has the two IAC/CCV ports), would positive boost block the check valve? Just wondering if i need to get a new elbow without the CCV or not.
ItsMatich yes that can also work too! I chose to do an exhaust CCV because it would pull more and more vacuum as engine load increases. My only concern with a check valve setup in line with the elbow was that the valve cover ventilation is essentially blocked off under boost.
I bought an entire sillicone hose replacement kit for an m50 engine from eBay at the time. I used the hoses in that kit for any extra vacuum lines/boost lines I wanted to run 🤘. Hope this helps
Yes u need a check valve. The moroso kit has one. And no I don’t have coolant lines running to the turbo, but I recommend a setup with additional cooling
Grab America by the Flaps I did have a K&N filter on the turbo for a while but I just stuck with my mesh screen since it gave better hood clearance lol
Grab America by the Flaps yes, but I heard of mixed opinions about running a filter or not, but the mesh is fine enough imo. 2k miles with no issues so far!
What vacuum does your boost gauge read at idle? I'm running -19/-20 but it seems like im idling with a vacuum leak. I have an s52 so im not sure if both engines run the same vacuum.
+Nicholas Zottola mines around -23! I'd check on the connections around your throttle body, traction control unit, intake, and injector o-rings for possible leaks. It should be similar between motors
I am pretty sure your PCV doesn't work really right. The moroso kit states that it only works on open headers and it stops pulling vacuum if there is any restriction.
Thanks for taking the time to make detailed videos. A lot of people just make a video about an interesting topic but they half ass the actual content.
+Bones12x2 I'm happy to help! Thank you for your support :)!

Thanks dude, this was very helpful today
Thanks man, I've learned a lot. This video made me more comfortable about boosting my.
+Packrus happy to help!! Thank you 😊
I live In New Hampshire, and will be boosting my e36 325i in the coming weeks. Thanks for the info homie! It will be emensly helpful!
Jonathan Roberge no problem! Good luck with your build!
Awesome video bro honestly cleared up all my worries:)
Thanks! Great info. Now I know where to tap the boost gauge vacuum > brake booster.
Great video, thank you for this content.
Looking forward to doing a build i have a 2000 e46 ur videos help a ton
Great videos keep them coming bud
I appreciate it 🙏 will do!
Im at this part of my build! Thanks
Hell yea !!!
Thanks man, i found my oil leaks :DD

Could you put a catch can between the CCV and the valve on the downpipe and prevent loss of oil over time?
+rollinremztube not sure by what u mean by that but an exhaust CCV vent kit eliminates the need for a catch can
Pawinning well with the exhaust CCV you end up venting oil droplets into your exhaust right? Well could you put a catch can in the middle to collect the oil droplets before they make it to your exhaust? I would imagine this could protect a catylitic converter as well
+rollinremztube oh yes in that case then it should work. I have no cats so there's nothing that would get gummed up 😂
So the bov can go to the brake booster hose with no check valve or anything just tie it in? Thanks!
Yeah the booster itself has an internal check valve if I’m thinking right!
Amazing video, what size diameter hose did you order?
Actually don't recall, but I did order an entire silicone hose replacement kit for the m50 engine off eBay and used which ever hoses in that kit to fit my needs. Went from everything from 1/4-3/4" if my memory is right 😅

What you did with ICV ?
BTW what oil filter/catch can are you using?
+DriftF2Life no catch can, but I have the IE Oil cooler cap

do your brakes work on boost?
Yes they do 👍
Where did you get all those red hoses?
+MrPepper9 it's a generic silicone hose kit from ebay
Where did you get the boost line? Can you explain abit more cause im boostin my e36 as well. And i cnt figure it out yet
I bought an entire sillicone hose replacement kit for an m50 engine from eBay at the time. I used the hoses in that kit for any extra vacuum lines/boost lines I wanted to run 🤘. Hope this helps
hey pawinning do I need a check valve for my venturi tube
also do you run coolant lines to the turbo
Yes u need a check valve. The moroso kit has one. And no I don’t have coolant lines running to the turbo, but I recommend a setup with additional cooling
Pawinning Do I need to run a catch can ass well
For the CCV system, you only choose to use a catch can or the tube. No need for both
Pawinning how are you cooling the turbo? with just oil cooler ?
Could you run the BOV and boost gauge off the same line?
Yes you can 🤘
Been checking out a few of you vids.. great content.
@@Hnivek thank you for watching 🙏! I appreciate your support on my work 😊
Hey Which port did u use on the waste gate ?
Side port! Left the top of my tial vented
Pawinning yeah that’s what I did and figured lol just from ur diagram u drew it looked like u used the top port on the waste gate , thanx dude
are u running an air filter?
Grab America by the Flaps I did have a K&N filter on the turbo for a while but I just stuck with my mesh screen since it gave better hood clearance lol
Pawinning aren't u worried about dirt particles messing up ur rings
Grab America by the Flaps yes, but I heard of mixed opinions about running a filter or not, but the mesh is fine enough imo. 2k miles with no issues so far!

What is your Fb, i have some questtions dude. P.s great work ;)
+Justas Jurksaitis thanks man! Hit me up on my Instagram dm!
Did your car come with ASC?
+AllNight Garage yes! But I deleted it
Pawinning Did you use the 10 ohm resistor method?
+AllNight Garage yes I did!
