    You should add a filter to the valve cover vent as that is the inlet for your pcv system, the outlet is the pcv valve, if you're not going to rout a hose to the air filter.
    There are arguments for the boost reference line for the wastegate both before or after the throttle body.
    It's also a good idea to add check valves to every vacume line that isn't designed to see boost, break booster, vacume modulator (certain automatic transmissions), PCV, ect.

    I’m sure you probably can’t remember, but what size vacuum line was used for the wastegate? All the vacuum line I have is too small for my wastegate. Thanks for your videos, they’ve helped tremendously in the process of turboing my Miata kart :)

    Could you share the specific adapter that you used (7:11) to screw the oil feed line into your block on a 1.6? I couldn't find it in your build spreadsheet. Thank you so much for the videos!

    • @ihulk1
      @ihulk1 ปีที่แล้ว

      Was going to ask the same question. Because the top feed adapter I believe, is already restricted 4an top fitting and the bottom side is like a pinhole so i would assume.

    Hey buddy! great video really informative!
    i have a question about my wastegate, should i run the vacuum line to my t25 as it has a vacuum port, or should i blank the turbo vacuum and run a line to the intake?
    car is a clio turbo!
    thanks buddy
    tim

    • @CashedOutCars
      @CashedOutCars  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      For a wastegate you'll want to go to the turbo or intercooler housing or piping before the intake. Good luck!

    Where would I plumb into for boost actuated cutout exhaust valve?

  • @toycoma98
    @toycoma98 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    I first used a -3an oil feed line no restrictor but it blew the turbo. After getting a new center cartridge, i replaced it with a -4AN no restrictor, but i notice oil in the intake pipe and the blades of compressor housing but no blue smoke though. So i'm thinking of putting a restrictor with the -4an. What do you think?

    • @CashedOutCars
      @CashedOutCars  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Is it a ball bearing or a journal bearing turbo? It does sound like you’ve got too much oil to it or a restricted oil drain

      I can’t remember unfortunately, I feel like it was around 1/2 inch to 5/8 though. Check the description, it may be in my build spreadsheet. I taped the pipe and threaded it in

    Can you explain what the deal is with your wastegate? Why it has stuff all over it I mean?

    • @CashedOutCars
      @CashedOutCars  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, I was using springs to lower the pressure at which the gate opened to run lower boost than the actuator was rated for

  • @KarlFosburg

    • @CashedOutCars

  • @bermias1234

    the line for the actuator of the turbo works with pressure not vacum....

    • @CashedOutCars
      @CashedOutCars  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes it does, but it’s still referred to as a vacuum line. It’s under vacuum all the time you’re out of boost

    Compressor surge and turbo flutter are 2 different things please dont spread this misconception.

    • @CashedOutCars
      @CashedOutCars  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      They’re often used interchangeably, correctly or incorrectly. There are tons of tech articles from reputable sources that I can link if you’re interested. If you can, give your definitions of each because I’m curious and if I’m incorrect would like to know why. Regardless, a blow off valve prevents compressor surge and in my opinion sounds great, which is why I used one on this build.

    • @BigBenlolz
      @BigBenlolz 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@CashedOutCars Surge is on throttle flutter = bad, flutter is off throttle flutter = harmless. BOV is of course personal taste, I wouldnt run it tbh. I havent seen an article in the last couple of years that said turbo flutter causes shorter turbo lifespan, everyone tries to debunk it. Hell a lot of cars came without BOVs or recirc valves from factory, S13's for example, atleast those couple stock ones I've heard.

    • @CashedOutCars
      @CashedOutCars  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      On throttle surge is ONE type of surge which as you mentioned is more dangerous. The other type of surge is off throttle which is what is referred to in this video and what people commonly refer to as turbo flutter. That’s where a blow off valve is helpful, and I’m very happy with mine. Of course, you could run with out one and not cause damage, as ive talked about in other videos of this series. Especially at low boost blow of valves are not necessary and ultimately it is personal choice. This article explains the science behind compressor surge well, with charts, if you’re interested: gfb.com.au/tech/tech-articles/11-the-truth-about-compressor-surge/
