I keep mishearing you say Idiot Films instead of 88 Films. 😂

Thanks for the review, I love your enthusiasm and the professional presentation of your videos. I recently watched the blu-ray and I unfortunately have to disagree with your assessment of its picture quality. The 88 films disc seems to use the same transfer of the earlier blu-ray which means the whole color scheme looks like from an amateur video. Like many earlier Hong Kong HD remasters from Fortune Star or Orange Sky Golden Harvest the colors were "neutralized" to remove any tint. However, many Hong Kong movies from the 80s and 90s heavily relied on color filtering and the movies, especially period movies, lose a lot of their visual flair if the color-filtered visuals are mistaken for tint and digitally given a neutral color grading. It looks bland and sterile. That's why I rather watch these movies on older releases where the original color scheme is intact. BTW, in the deleted scene you can see how the colors ought to look.

Thanks, appreciate it! I know what you mean. I also feel that different players and TVs add to that (or take away). I appreciate the clean up however and when compared to how I used to watch them on VHS or even earlier DVDs, am just happy to see them look so well :) Thanks for watching!

Really loving your channel George! Seeing how much enthusiasm, time and dedication you put into your vlogs is fecking awesome feller!! Got my copy now of LHIC and look forward to watching it. Good to see there's the Jet Li UK visit featurette from the HKL days. I remember Chris Ducker was the founder of Hong Kong Superstars back in the day and had a 'pop up' shop in Croydon. Keep up the good work!

Did I hear wrong or do you think less grain is a good thing?

Honestly, it depends on the shot etc. Sometimes it works for me, and others it just looks awful :)
