Hello mate, would you say the picture quality is like 88 Films God of Gamblers or like 88 Films release of GORGEOUS?

Hope they restore & remaster more of Jimmy Wang Yu movies .. He has an awesome collection (Real Action Star of Hong Kong)

George dude it gets worse the next few releases we get no poster what we get is the equivalent of toilet paper also known as there is no art but we’re going to call the cards art cards anyway. Not happy if this is the route seriously on 88 and I would just import the damn things because these movies are so bloody old it doesn’t make any difference anymore like they’re not gonna at least go with their trend and start giving you absolute garbage inside the box I’m not interested I hope they understand very very quickly. They screwed up and anyone that’s ever bought anything from their website gets the missing posters from or releases whether or not they bought movie anyway I’m really gutted especially as it was one of the first times I was about to get a, vampire paper sub to his head poster and no no obviously you can buy stuff like that but yeah it sucks anyway thanks for the video dude I’ll see this one. Does the poster even though I wouldn’t personally use that one I do more with it then I would I hate this. They suck the photos you can get off the Internet as always, thanks mate

This movie is very underated i always enjoy it whether dubbed pr subbed man we needed this uncut

I get the feeling if Eureka had hold of Island of Fire they probably would've done a HD restoration of both cuts on blu ray, & probably done a limited edition run where you get the Hybrid Cut with all the deleted scenes put back in the longer version on a separate disc.

I had avoided this movie for years as Jackie said it was awfuI. I eventually saw it under "The Prisoner" title and quite enjoyed it. May pick up the blu-ray, as I don't have a copy in any form.

whats the betting this gets a re-release in couple yrs with the 2 cuts of the movie 88 have done this with a few Jackie movies, 88 have been very lacklustre cut n paste with this release.

Is there a reason the German version just isn’t available anywhere? I couldn’t even find a copy on eBay and the only one I could find was on Amazon Germany for 56 euro

Hi my friend i had the Taiwanese version on vhs in 1991 i got it from a bruce and jackie roadshow in Birmingham it was excellent i saw hong kong legends version after but didn't really make same impact. So can you answer me one question please is it version where sammo gets killed last or is it jackie because hong kong legends version messed end up completely so much more powerful the sammo ending.

Really looking forward to revisiting this one when I get it, such a shame the Taiwanese version couldn't be included in full though as I was hoping this would be a full definitive package (and I've still never gotten around to seeing the full print after all these years). Hopefully 88 Films still has a few more Chan's in the works, I'm hoping for Fantasy Mission Force at some point.

I’m have this and The Bodyguard From Beijing 4K being delivered today.

Still need to pick this up along with Bodyguard from Beijing but unfortunately as my wallet is not light enough I need to wait for next month to get it. Yes a bit of shame that the 88 Films release does not have the extended Taiwanese cut in full form and does have the same transfer as the German one which is not the case as Golden Sun Films still owns the rights for Island of Fire (I believe the restoration was actually done in a decade ago). But still it’s all 88 has got for us. I do love Sean Longmore’s artwork though especially that Jackie Chan facial expression. Wondering if Vinegar Syndrome (or other boutique labels like Severin and Error 4444) is going to release Island of Fire with their additional restoration work and full extended Taiwanese cut maybe sooner?

your hong kong film knowledge is impressive as usual but now with the visual prompts really brings the video to the next level - excellent job Also I watched Nicholas Tse and Charlene Choi's A Chinese Tall Story last night, got a hankering for journey of the west stuff due the the recently released black myth wukong game, the movie is a big mess with the direction and also the dated CG but the final act was good becuase it was just raw acting and emotion void of any CG special effects, ive always loved the journey to the west adaptions spiritual journey of the soul with its conflicts of human desires and seeking higher enlightenment

Fun movie but I haven’t purchased this blu ray yet. I like the way the slip cover looks and feels. I do wish the features would have included a new feature aside from the commentary.

Had the DVD. Ordered 3 Blu Ray copies. In my top ten movies period. I describe it as the Asian Birds of Prey, as well as done right.❤

I have them coming as singles from Terracotta Distribution coming in the mail. 20 bucks each. How much did this set cost. I don't usually hang on Vinegar due to prices. Love Terracotta though.

i i remember this one they showed a variant of it years back i think on Amazon prime me and my late older brother watched it together, very good movie we both loved watching hong kong cinema movies as a family it is one of those treasures in life we all shared, we liked Jet Li movies a lot, one of our most faved was Twin warriors aka tai chi master, very awesome movie.

I’ve Gotta be honest this is the first time I’m ever going to see this film and I’m really looking forward to it normally I just with Jet Li. I’ve always really like except black mask always more classic style costume drama martial art films and yeah for some reason this one is always tick box and I’ve never picked up, great mate helps me look forward to even more 👍🏻

Great films, especially 2, absolute masterpiece in my opinion. The fact it has no English Dub/sub and the French subs are locked is a no for me. I'm hoping for a eureka or 88 to this justice, any of the girls with guns stuff is golden. Nice review 👍
