  • I shoot the Ruger Super Wrangler revolver against the Diamondback Sidekick revolver head-to-head with .22 magnums only. How accurate is the Ruger Super Wrangler and how accurate is the Diamondback Sidekick? Which one will win? I also have bloopers and outtakes at the end of the video. Enjoy.

    I like the capacity of the Diamondback but it does not seem to be very sturdy with a zinc frame and a skinny crane. Only time will tell.
    I like how sturdy Ruger makes their revolvers.
    Between the two I would choose the Super Wrangler.

      Yeah. I agree the Ruger is a stronger made gun.

      Thanks for watching. You might be interested in a video I’m currently uploading now. I actually shoot a penny at 15 yards with my Ruger Super Wrangler. I shot it today at the range. Best shot of my life.

    Super Wrangler all day. I already bought the original Wrangler, so I missed out. I may trade a gun for another, but I don't follow fads. I love the stronger frame on the Super Wrangler.

      I was about to buy the Wrangler but got a Diamondback Sidekick instead. Then the Super Wrangler came out so I got one.

      @@HotLeadretiredjust so you know, even the original wrangler is 10 times the revolver over the taurus made sidekick. Diamondback should have never sold out to this worthless company that has proven over and over again that everything they get their hands on, the absolutely ruin!

      I agree with you. I own both. The Super Wrangler is far superior than the Sidekick.

    how ya been, bro? long time ... I've been sick and still am unfortunately. good to see you doing well and still making videos.
    22LR revolvers, interesting and different. I like some of those replica MP5s in 22. just can't bring myself to spend 500-750 on a 22. speaking of H&K, I bought a VP9 about 3 years ago and believe it or not, I haven't put a single round through it. she's an unnecessary safe queen.

      I’m still kicking, lol. Long time no see. I hope you get well soon. VP9, nice. Good to hear from you.

      @@HotLeadretiredid say sidekick it fires 22 lr and 22 magnum and double and single action and not too expensive

    How would you compare the two handguns as far as quality and action? Try to set aside your love for Ruger a judge fairly.

    • @HotLeadretired
      @HotLeadretired  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Lol. The Diamondback has a lighter trigger in single action, of course. The hammer pull is easier and it has a wider spur on it which helps in cocking it back. The Ruger has the adjustable rear sight which is a big plus. Quality wise I would give it to Ruger but only slightly. Both are good .22 revolvers.

    • @nunya1328
      @nunya1328 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Shall we start with diamondback is owned by taurus?? That alone would finish the comparison dead!!
      But let's continue shall we? The taurus is pot metal for one thing, the Ruger is alloy Steel. The taurus is double action sure, but with a 14lb trigger pull in double action! The taurus won't and can't eject spent shell worth a shit because they can't hone their cylinders correctly to save their own ass let alone their company name. The taurus has no adjustable sights and can't hit the broad side of a barn. The taurus has worthless customer service. The taurus has worthless quality control. Taurus could give a shit less about you as long as you buy their worthless shit.
      Ruger on the other hand ... makes extremely amazing quality firearms, backed by a lifetime warranty with amazing and excellent no questions asked customer service that is second to absolutely NONE! NOT EVEN COLT will take care of you close to what Ruger will ....
      The cerakote on a Ruger is not cheap thin barely there crap coating, they actually have it done correctly with the right thickness to actually be protective and last the age of the revolver. The internals of the Ruger are top notch springs and metals not some flimsy ass Chinese just enough to get you through metal!
      Ruger backs their product whether you're the original owner or not!
      So you tell me? Which revolver would you want to put your trust and money in?

      Just saw this. I agree with you. My Super Wrangler is a better built firearm. I have seen on TH-cam where a lot of Sidekicks having issues ejecting spent casings from the cylinder. On mine that’s about the only thing that worked right. Lol. In the end I got mine shooting great. It took some work but I got it there. Thanks for watching.

    I looked at a brand new diamondback at a gun shop and the cylinder was loose as heck it was worse than a heritage rough Rider.

    • @HotLeadretired
      @HotLeadretired  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’ve never shot a Heritage but I filed the front and rear sights on that Diamondback and it shoots great with .22. Thanks for watching.

      Funny you say that as they are both made by taurus! Both equally worthless.

    How to deal with that extremely heavy and inconsistent double action pull? Otherwise I love the Sidekick.

    • @HotLeadretired
      @HotLeadretired  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah, the double action trigger pull is probably north of 15 lbs. plus you can’t aim down the rear notch sight while the hammer is down. I also love the Sidekick I just shoot it in single action only.

    • @MikeStallings2023

      @@HotLeadretired I shoot double until my finger gives out. I think it is very good practice. Then I go to single.

    • @HotLeadretired
      @HotLeadretired  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I’ve only shot a few cylinders in single action. You’re probably better at it than I am. I don’t practice double action enough to get good at it.

    Does the Super Wrangler have a steel frame vs the Wrangler that has a lighter metal frame?

    • @DisHammerhand

      Yes. Super Wrangler has a steel cylinder frame where the regular has aluminum.

    How come in most of these videos does the person constantly repeat what they are going to do before they do it.

    I wonder if the high wind could have been a factor?

    • @HotLeadretired
      @HotLeadretired  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don’t know if the wind mess with the bullet but it mess with me and the target. 10-20 mph wind that day. I’m going to do a .22 lr and a .22 mag test as soon as the wind dies down around here.

  • @rodgereagle4782

    How can you compare accuracy in a wind storm with previously shot targets....ill prepared....talks way too much

    • @HotLeadretired
      @HotLeadretired  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I guess you had to watch my first two videos in order, or you wouldn’t understand. It was also windy in all the videos. Also it’s my video and I can compare anything I want.

    Ruger should shoot in the size of a quarter that range

    • @HotLeadretired
      @HotLeadretired  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah, maybe. I had too many things against me. Wasn’t my best. Wind, bad eyes, and both guns sighted in for .22 lr. The Diamondback will shoot quarters at that range and farther. I’ll get that Ruger hitting quarters soon. With some hi-vis sights and new glasses. I’m working on that now. Stay tuned. Thanks for watching.
