    I've read all the books, and I've attended a great deal of programs (even True North) and all I have to say is that you've made the biggest impact on my life. You have a way of pulling all the pieces and parts together to make this all make sense and most importantly, "user friendly". THANK YOU Chef AJ!

    Hi chef AJ I love the content. Im proud to say Im 2 weeks In the plantbased diet. My.question is you say eat 2p pounds of greens. How can i make my veggie delicious and instead of bland and boring. Please advice also on salt . I add salt but very little. Really appreciate your advise 🙏 😊

    Thanks for the video! I have one question: You say that you didn´t consume sugar to lose weight, it includes panela (raw sugar)?

  • @Orphanannie1969
    @Orphanannie1969 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    I hope this is not a redundant question. How do you eat your 2lbs of greens, raw or do you cook them? Since hitting my late 40's it seems no matter what I do I cannot take the pounds off. Eating mostly plant based, going to bed hungry every night and still nothing. I cannot wait to see if eating your way will be the ticket to success. I am certain I do not get enough greens in. Thank you!!

    • @CHEFAJ
      @CHEFAJ  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It stimulates the appetite so you eat more making it difficult for some to lose weight. For some it is a trigger food that caused overeating. It also raises blood pressure. You can learn to enjoy the taste of whole natural food without it but it takes about 30 days of going without.

    Much love to you. Legumes cause allergies with a lot of people. Grains are GM foods and have been modified so much now they are carcinogenic. While foods good yes but not whole grains. Plant based raw is best for optimum health not just weight loss.

    YUMMY SAUCE
    Ingredients:
    1 x 15 ounce can cannellini beans, rinsed and drained (or 1.5 cups of cooked beans)
    Juice and zest of one organic lemon (if the lemon does not yield 1/4 of a cup of juice, then add more lemon juice)
    1/2 cup water
    2 Tablespoons salt-free mustard (I use Westbrae Stoneground)
    3/4 ounce pitted dates (approximately 3 deglet noor dates)
    1 clove garlic
    Preparation:
    Place all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. If you are using a high-powered blender, you can make this sauce warm to serve over rice and veggies. It is also delicious cold massaged into shredded cabbage for "Yummy Slaw".
    :)

    Mcdougall diet convert here: 8 or so weeks and down 16 pounds! I feel better, I know I am healthier! I get a cholesterol test in 8 weeks, and then talk to my doctor. She should be impressed quite a bit as long as I hang in there! I did bad on a few days and ate the Progresso bread crumbs, but they are gone now. Potatoes and other items fill me fine!
    Goal is another 21 pounds to be 150 pounds: It'll be a total loss of 40 pounds. It's not hard work. I'm never hungry eating these starches: potatoes, beans and rice. I have a good combination of them now to get my nutrients. I can go over if I work out.

    Great and inspiring talk - but I have never seen a place in Denmark where it would be possible to get Brown Rice in a restaurant or prepaired in a sLad bar. We can hope that times are changing and that it will be easy to get truly healthy whole food no salt, no oil plant based food. But until then we will have to improvise and do the best in our kitchens

    I realize this is an older post and I have just found this today. I have recently transitioned part-time into a vegan lifestyle from a vegetarian lifestyle after losing 100 pounds. I have many health problems and I'm only 45 years old. I have had covid earlier this year and I'm seeing my doctor tomorrow because I'm having some problems. But I'm committed to my health and after seeing this video I can see how easy it is to plan ahead and make sure that my health is top priority in terms of food prep. Thank you for such an encouraging video! Hopefully this plateau I'm in will be over with pretty soon and I can continue on my weight loss journey as I have another 140 lb to lose! You inspire me!

    I am doing your 21 Day Challenge and this video really helped to me finally strategize what I will eat each day and ensure I get in my 2lbs of non-starchy vegetables. So for breakfast/brunch I can have 1lb steamed cruciferous veggies and lunch 1lb Big Beautiful Chopped Salad (Nutmeg Notebook) and dinner cooked starches. I definitely like the loaded potatoes idea of just combining items like Chipotle. Thanks again for this video & caring enough to share this life saving information 👏🏿👍🏾😉🤗

    I use to eat this way. I read Dr. Dean ornish 's book. Eat more and weigh less. Same concept and I didn't go hungry. I lost 11 pounds in one week without exercise. I didn't even notice till my mom said... I think you lost weight ! I said I don't think so. I couldn't believe my scale! I just kept stepping on and off of it as if it was broke. I had been bedridden for more then a year and gained a bunch of weight. I was thrilled when it melted off. People also kept asking what I did. I changed my eating is what I told them. Sometimes they would ask me what I was eating and I told them. Some were disappointed cause they loved meat ect.. It's definitely something you want to change. Cuddos to you ! Great job ! Keep us going you inspired me today !

      Olive oil is extremely healthy though. Italy, in particular Sardinia, is one of the blue zones and olive oil is an important part of their diet.

Also I can't eat these volumes because before I had all this information I had bariatric surgery. Any advise what I can do and how to break the cheese and egg habit and keep things really flavorful. My biggest fear is bland food.

    Chef AJ, I like what you do. If more people made better friends with vegetables, they would be better off. What doesn’t make sense is a lack of salt. Refined salt is garbage- 60 percent chemical fillers. Whole salt retains its trace minerals that are essential to balancing our metabolism. More importantly, whole salt is the electrolyte that regulates your heart beat. I lowered my blood pressure by using whole salt. Up to a tablespoon or two a day. The thyroid thrives with whole salt.
