    watching older videos, to help an instructor & counselor out with a workshop , about health & wellness & weigh loss. was my first time watching this one. while eating my huge bowl of sweet spuds , broccoli & brussels sprouts. I haven't used artifical sweeteners for many yrs., but, i did taste a stevia leaf once, in the early 2000;s, yes, it was very sweet.. I finally gave up alcohol, at age 66, even tho for many yrs i had only 1 drink at night, mixed with OJ, i am lucky i wasn't addicted to sodas. sorry to comment so much, well, i guess i did watch this b4, my memory has been injured by breathing in chemicals. take care I been batch cooking all day, back & forth, in & out to the screen room, did some spinning out there while hubby sat in there, after work. 🥔🥦🍠💪👍

      U are just overeating! I was eating 6-8 times a day & couldn't lose that last 20 lbs. I started intermittent fasting, just coffee, tea & water all day & then dinner & fruit dessert. Lost the last 20 lbs & now I'm under goal weight. As Chef A.J. says just eat when hungry & fill up on lots of non starchy vegetables first.

    I don't know why but today Im crying. Crying because you said You realised you had to eat the same way you did to lose.. I use to be fat.. Lost it by getting rid of white stuff. ( sugar flour ect) and 1 year ago we got precancerous polyp news for my hubby. TERRIFIED ME. So we found forks over night and you and WFPB way of eating. But i am struggling to lose the last 10 lbs. or more. I don't know WHAT I should TRULY weigh. But what you said about eating the same way to maintain as you did to lose.. Not eating fruit as a snack because ...well I can eat lots of bananas and rasins too.. so I'm right there with you.. but I GET IT NOW... I'M SO HAPPY TO ACTUALLY get it.. Thank you for being you. honest, real, quirky, and blunt. All of which I get and appreciate...

    Thank you for your videos. I’ve been watching since February 2020 but still consider myself new! Because life work and what have you. I have lost 50 pounds but have hit a major plateau. Halloween came and I tried some SAD foods. Good news is I spit them all out. My taste buds have changed. SOS free. But have stopped eating so many vegetables. Eating more whole starches at every meal. Your channel is reminding me of the ease of veggies. I have NOT figured out my pressure cooker yet. Going to explore more of your videos to inspire me to try it. For some reason I’m intimidated. Thank you for giving us your time and wisdom. Cheers!

    Thanks, Chef AJ, for all of the information you share. Have you done an episode on how you prepare healthy meals when you are traveling? I've accepted a new position that requires travel about 50% of the time and my most recent assignment has me away from home for two months. I try to get rooms with a kitchenette, but sometimes all I can get is a small fridge and microwave. If I'm traveling by car I carry my microwave steamer (Tupperware!) and potato baker, some seasonings, knife and cutting board and utensils with me. When I arrive I buy potatoes, veggies, greens, tortillas or wraps and try to carry some home made oil-free hummus when I can. I'd love to hear any additional tips you have, particularly when it involves air travel. I feel like I am carrying so much with me and the small fridge can be a challenge.

    Chef AJ, I cannot give up my all time favorite food....white rice! Would adding rice bran back to my white rice be somewhat comparable to eating brown rice (which I really dislike)?

    I saw your interview about IBS. I also have IBS and have been following Heather Van Vorous. She has helped me tremendously. I want to go Vegan but according to her book, we should be eating white rice and more soluble fiber. How do you manage your IBS
    with the insoluble fiber foods (beans) on a Vegan diet?

    • @ArtyAntics
      @ArtyAntics 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I used to have chronic IBS I found that it was because I wasn’t able to break down fats well so the extra fibre and cutting out oil actually cleared mine up. Beans I had to introduce slowly, I only eat whole grains not white rice. If you struggle with rice you could try quinoa, it’s much lighter on the stomach. Reducing anxiety/stress was also a big factor for me. I really hope you find something that works for you.

      I lost the last stubborn 25 lbs with intermittent fasting. I was simply overeating & snacking 6-8 times a day. Now I only eat lunch, dinner & snack 2-3 times a day.
      Check Dr. Jason Fung U tube videos on Intermittent Fasting, they are an eye opener

    Do you use a salad dressing? I struggle with making a good, healthy dressing. I'm not a fan of lemon juice on my salads. I haven't watched enough videos to know your opinion on avocados. Do you eat avocados or use them to dress salads? Trying to make salads more enticing as I'm not a big fan of salads in general.

      Hi Nora, I don't know if you found a dressing you like it but if you go to Nutmeg notebook website or blog and search for her Creamy Balsamic Dressing . It is really good. I use only one fourth cup of the balsamic vinegar instead of half cup
