Story :-
I (35, F) was pushed out of my restaurant by my family because I didn't own the property it was built on. Op was a successful Operations manager of the SB hotel chain who quit her job to take care of her father back home. She, frustrated with the boring town life, starts a food truck which becomes an instant hit with the truckers that pass through the town. She with her years of experience in hotel management decides to expand it into a restaurant in the name of their mother and her brothers’ wives join her to help run it and eventually build a garage cum restaurant on her brothers’ property.
After 2 years of the business, her father passes away and Op is shocked that her brothers claim they own the restaurant and she was just hired by them. Their wives treat her completely differently and she is distraught. With the help of her boyfriend she
seeks revenge by joining back her old job and convinces her bosses and management to open up competing restaurants and drive the old restaurant into bankruptcy

I've always been told, "There's no such thing as coincidence." I think the brothers took OP'S money, burned the restaurant down, and are planning on taking the insurance money and leaving town. OP should get the money she paid to rid them of debt and bring things up to code. Also, she paid for the food truck. What happened to it? Did she get reimbursed for it? She needs to hire an attorney and private investigator. I'm just saying I don't buy the brothers story.
Yeah because they would have cleaned up the debt with her money, if they had burned it down before the debt was paid off, then the debts would have to be paid first with the family getting any left overs. If they cheated her once, they will do it again.
This is exactly why my sentiments go to fake story. OP should just ask her brother's for the receipts of the debts. It's common sense but somehow it's overlooked. These stories undermine the intelligence of us viewers but to me shows the silliness of the fabricator...but then again people have lots of time on their hands to be entertained.

Either this story is extremely fake or OP is most definitely in on the insurance fraud and is setting up this story just to cover her rear in the event it ever gets found out.
No highly successful intelligent business woman such as she would dare go into such an arrangement without a team of lawyers nor would she step near this mess after the fire without having her own investigation done UNLESS she herself was a part of it.
If they did burn it down then she could be the scapegoat as they would blame her for it. Don't trust the brothers at all.
OP should definitely get a lawyer and private investigator to check everything from the first food truck to the fire...any and all business or personal finances, brothers and their wives. Then take appropriate action with police and/or lawsuit!!
And the loan should have had a contract such that it should be repaid reguardless of th "fire."
I see how OP is blinded by her family. Obviously, they burnt down the place after she gave them the money. Because they're money hungry. 😒 if I were her, I'd definitely file a claim and get somebody to do some more digging on her brothers.

I don't believe in coincidence. They took her money, will get insurance money, will sell the house and land where the garage was. Sounds like the only one who lost was OP. Also, arson investigation is such a tiny town would be almost non-existent. 😻😁😻

There are some big holes in this story. 1. A highly experienced & successful business woman such as OP would not simply give a large amount of money to her proven incompetent brothers without a good lawyer to draw up a contract with important details that would protect her investment. 2. Due diligence: careful inspection of the business properties and an audit of the business records. 3. A written plan that outlines how her investment would be used. We could go on and on for pages.
Unfortunately, no 1 actually could happen in a moment of impulsive recklessness.. she was gloating her success on their face.. op never got the lesson of waving meat in front of dogs/wolves/tigers and get your whole arms bitten off.. she was doing the twisted version of "the best revenge is living well".
Frankly, I can see myself bragging to my old school bully of my current success. And if they asked me for help I would 'generously' gave them such.. I will be frank it would be for a boost of ego rather than actual compassion tho.. but it's very possible.. . The me now have had that meat lesson when I was a dumbass child and if I do help them, it's with money I'm willing to lose instead of a huge chunk of my saving.
Regarding the lesson. Long story short my dumbass child brain thought it'd be nice if I give/show the school bully how far along I am in a game on my psp, compared to them on theirs.. this result in them not returning my psp and my parents have to step in after several days (psp isn't cheap) but in retaliation they deleted the saves. Parents and teachers doesn't really care about that so long as the property (psp) was returned, so I'm not really sure if they got extra punishment for it or not. I wasn't as smart back then to know there could be ways to retrieve the save either (comp and internet's pretty new).. but basically even if you dangle the meat in front of the beast, make sure you're safe to do so without losing it, and if you don't mind losing the meat(the insignificant), throw it and keep your hands(the important part) safe.
If I hadn't had this lesson, I might just cripple my own finance to help them just to show them, "see, I'm doing so well despite everything you did to me" in some cringe saintly ways. But fortunately I already do, so I gave them equivalent of $5-20 but for our country we could use that for maybe 4 days worth of unhealthy cheap food for 1 adult.
Tldr: help/give/show only what you willing to lose lesson. Don't expect them back.
@@D4rkenedskies Yes, OP must have been somewhat impulsive or just didn't think it through. I've learned a few difficult lessons. I had my own business for more than 20 years. There is not enough room here to list the mistakes I've made but now that I'm old enough to have learned a few things . . . I don't want to start another business. I like to stay up late, sleep almost until noon, sit on my ass most of the day. We're all just temporary, anyhow.😇
The brothers committed arson. I have no doubt of that. Otherwise why would they plan to move that far away? I hope there will be an update.
They burned it down, but op will let it go even if she had her suspicions, arson is illegal and her brothers going to jail would put a burden of caring for 2 families on her. As long as no one got hurt or killed, they will just move on.

OP's brothers burnt the restaurant down 100%. They already screwed her out of it once, now she has nothing to go back to except her parent's graves. Don't trust family when they have outstanding debts. Blood means nothing when money's involved.
I hope OP and Diego at least conduct their own investigation. If anything, for her piece of mind. It breaks my heart to hear she lost everything. She can't even go back to her family home because the brothers sold it. Hopefully she can recover from this hit.

I would of contacted the insurance company and police and informed them of what the guy had said because as soon as soon as op was told that the bothers had joked about burning the place down for the insurance then all of a sudden it happens that sounds like arson to me

Small town,.. everyone knows everyone... fire investigator isn't going to find any evidence because they aren't going to LOOK for any evidence. I'd hire a lawyer and a private investigator. I'd seriously think getting a forensic investigator involved would be a plus as well. MY brothers would set fire to things if it meant that I wouldn't benefit from it.

The brothers didn’t invest any of the money into the business or if they did it was with stuff they could return for a refund after the fire took place to keep the money and give Op a bit of “insurance money back” because the money wouldn’t have been gone instantly like the story made it out to seem. I would hire an private independent investigator to find out the truth and hold anyone accountable for any crimes if you literally just gave them your life savings. I’m sure between Op/BF they will be able to survive on the short term without savings off their higher end careers.

Sadly it only got worse for them after that. Since the brothers have families they thought it was okay to cheat their sister out of money.

I think the fire was caused intentionally. The timing between when OP gave them the money and when the so-called "gas leak" occurred is too much of a coincidence to be an accident.
They burn it down and then they didn't even notify the sister about selling their parents house they did it and they got away with taking that money for their sister. Or off of her any money off selling their parents house man they got away I want a lot of money

Well, the money she gave them was to pay down those debts incurred so its not like that her brothers could have stolen that money in the first place. It could just be a coincidence with the fire and the trucker, hard to say. Some people have a sick sense of humour, especially when things are tough so who knows.

I think that OP's brother did burn it down. I hate to think that is what happened, but I don't trust them after what happened before.
Except the brothers said they had to go bankrupt which would imply that the insurance didn't cover the debts. They also said that she would get a portion of the amount she gave them, this makes sense as she was a creditor, gave them the money but had no involvement in the business. It should have been clearer but definitely implied that the insurance wasn't a huge amount. Insurance was required and paid for but that doesn't mean huge payouts it just means it's there. Also the brothers didn't say they were getting anything from the insurance just that she would get a portion of her investments. I don't think this was insurance fraud just an accident.

Just a theory, gas leak started from the kitchen where the wives worked. Op's brothers' wives did no like how she treated them and got her business taken away. The wives could not cook like op, the may have hated the work and complaints that they did not measure up. New houses, new cities no running resturant was too good to pass up. The brothers may love their jobs as many mechanics do, but not the wives. So the brothers told the truth, the wives were never asked.

According to Google and my paper Atlas there is no Ashley, Wyoming, therefore one of two situations exists. First the towns name in story 1 has been changed to hide the town so OP is not identified. Second, the story is totally a fabrication.
