- In today's episode, I'm in Marks EZ Go showing y'all how I get around Belterra to stay mobile. Surgery was a great success, and Dr. Dustin Moore knocked it out of the park. The past 2 days have been off and on with pain. Last night from about 5-9 being the worst of the pain so far. I give props to all of the athletes competing in the Crossfit open workout 20.5 this weekend, and give a shout out to my favorite Crossfit athlete, Patrick Vellner. I also love Junk headbands. They are my absolute favorite.. and I have one on in this video to cover up my hairline and promote one of my favorite brands. Hope you enjoy the video!

Just had my surgery yesterday morning
Mine was April 24th, day one post surgery, it’s very sore. Just the way it goes, it throbs. Be smart with your pain management, and take your time. If you are like me and go 100mph most of the time, this injury will teach you patience. Or it will drive you insane 😊. I would not stand without a brace in the shower till the licensed PT tells you you can. Error on the side of caution, remember everyday it gets a little better
Man I’m on day 2… idk how in hell you’re out and riding around. I’m on so much pain & I’ve had meds on a constant schedule. Still no relief. 😩😩😩
But as far as the surgery itself I had a similar experience. Kept asking for my wife lol.
How is your recovery coming along? I was reached out to by someone on FB and didn’t realize there were ANY comments on these videos and people needing advice. Big foul on my part to not have notifications on. I hope you’re well on the way to 100% recovery
@@jbrandonfoster I’m 8 months post surgery right now and my pain is gone however it still does not have as much strength as I would like… I try to use the leg extension machine at the gym and can’t put no more than 10 lbs on it. Squats are very painful as well. Also can’t do very much 1 legged things. So it’s very frustrating as I want to be back to my regular self but just trying to have patient with my body ya know…?
What about for you?
@@tardison12 yeah hang in there. I was 41 when I did mine and my recovery was legitimately 18 months. I still have some pain when I’m on my knee cap or stretching like a child’s pose. I do have my strength back 4 years later and today I squat, lunge, box jump, ski and even sprint. Keep on grinding and take it one day at a time. It’s a slow but steady process
@@jbrandonfoster thanks for the reassurance man. I played college basketball and was beginning to feel like I’ll never play again. Hopefully within the next year or so I can bend, run, & jump again! 🤞
One week in it's hell
My patellar tear surgery is set for April 18, 2024. Three days post surgery do you stand in the shower without the brace?
I didn’t shower for at least a week. I was unable to stand unassisted for a while… I showered on a shower chair for a while. Keep in mind your leg will be straight and immobile for several weeks. That makes showering challenging.
Just had my surgery yesterday, any tips?
Id say be patient.. follow the PT and get a bunch of books… attempt to read and learn something new.. patience is the KEY! Good luck.. reach out to me on Instagram if you have questions @jbrandonfoster
Please teach me how you elevate your leg for the first time. Is there any technique doing that? Already month after the surgery
use the other end of your crutch if you have one, slide your foot in, pull back on the crutch and lift you leg. Think of a crane
I hope your recovery went well… please let me know how you’re doing.
I use my off leg move my bad leg. When you go to lay down go in like head first it makes it easier to swing your leg. It’s sounds bad but I watched videos of people who were handicap, and how they were able to move around. And I have so much respect for them, mine is only temporary.
Hey did they wrap your leg like that
Mine is wrapped like that. Had surgery yesterday morning
Prayers to you buddy
Im an Athiest and had similar experience so whats that mean? 🤔 🤯 🤦♂️
My patellar tear surgery is set for April 18, 2024. Three days post surgery do you stand in the shower without the brace?
I would say no. I am not a doctor. Use a garbage bag to cover your leg. My understanding is the licensed physical therapist will tell you when you can stand without the brace. Any questions call the doctor just to clarify. They don’t mind. If anything it shows that you really want to do what’s right and follow their directions, it’s a good thing. Good luck, in mid July you and I will be walking with no issues 👍
